This month’s theme is DEEP OCEAN! The perfect theme for the end of summer! No, it’s not a bad picture, the front of every postcard they send is a super cool hologram! The themes every shipment seem to center around a different “biome” usually.
The info card included is a cryptic postcard with hints as to what everything inside the box is. Fun!
Exclusive Minecraft Tee – Value $15?
Possibly my favorite thing about our Mine Chest subscription is having my son explain to me what the tee shirt depicts. This month it’s a guardian who (per my son) “protects the structure of the ocean.” There’s also a little guy swimming in the background. One thing I can say about Minecraft is that it definitely sparks the kids’ imaginations!
Mine Chest Exclusive Sticker – Value $1?
It’s a squid! I absolutely love the way Minecraft depicts animals. So nerdy and cute!
Stamp Block – Value $5?
This is another Mine Chest exclusive! It’s a fish! So far, so good with the ocean theme. This month’s ink was a bit dry, but my son got it primed later on with a little water.
Minecraft Exclusive Pin – Value $5?
It’s a fishing rod! I guess I can see that. Am I the only parent who just sees a bunch of squares? I know, I’m so lame.
Minecraft Guide to Exploration by Mojang – Value $11.04
I was a little surprised, but this was my son’s absolute favorite item in the box this month! It might be his new favorite book ever. He was so happy to get this! Whatever gets them reading, right? It’s full of tips and tricks and cheats and easter eggs and all kinds of things!
Creeper Beach Towel – Value $9.99
How perfect for our last few weeks at the pool! My son completely loved this, too! It’s a creeper followed by a skeleton on fire and a zombie emerging from a cave. One can only imagine what adventures they are having!
Verdict: This was another awesome package from Mine Chest! I mainly gauge how cool a Mine Chest is by my son’s reactions to the swag, and it never disappoints. The book and beach towel were wonderful inclusions this month, and my son loved all the usual swag as well. He also really likes sharing with his friends. The value of everything this month adds up to about $47, which is good for a $40 box. This is such a fun subscription for Minecraft fans!

Great review, thanks!
Thanks sher!
Both of my boys LOVED this as well, and had to explain to me what the darn things were. I just don’t get it. Their fave was the book as well, but they love almost every item, including the boxes. As a parent, I appreciated that these were nice and useful items–no filler. The stamp and ink pad was a bit of a throwaway item for my older son, but my younger liked it enough. It was a bit dry as well. Great review!
Thanks Ann!
