Before we dive in, I’ll say that I’m a 36B in bras and a large in undies (I usually wear a size 10 in jeans, if that gives you an idea). Hopefully, that’ll help you understand whether this set will fit you!
Venetia Unlined Bra and Thong Set – Regular Price $49.95, VIP Price $39.95
Scrolling through the options on Adore Me, this set immediately caught my eye. The lace is super pretty, for one, but the teal color was what really did me in. After a summer spent basking in the glow of pastel and neon fashion, this rich, blue-ish-emerald tone was like a breath of fresh, autumn air.
The set was offered with a hipster panty or a thong, but the hipster was out in my size (large) by the time I shopped the look. While I’m not a fan of thongs as an everyday thing, they certainly serve their purpose when I’m trying to wear a body-hugging sheath dress or anything more form-fitting, so I nabbed the thong instead. It has a lace panel on the front as well as a little flourish of lace on the back, right in the “T” of the thong.
As someone who doesn’t wear romantic, traditionally “feminine” looks on the regular, I liked that the deep teal color and semi-sheer solid waistband of this piece (you can see the sheerness of the lace and waistband in the photo above) kept it from feeling super flowery. It’s got a cool factor to it, in addition to being on the fancier, flirtier end of the spectrum. It’s really comfortable, too. I was surprised by how nicely the waistband sat on my hips without pinching into my pudge too much. They didn’t provide the super-smooth silhouette I would need for a serious bodycon dress, but for tailored looks, I should be set. And most importantly, I feel really snazzy in it!
The bra is similarly sophisticated, but not too fluttery for my sense of style. It provides a good deal of coverage, too. The bra is lace, though, and has a tiny bit of delicate mesh on the bottom half of each unlined cup. The straps have pretty ruching details on the front of them and little bows where they meet the bra cups. Cute! I’m going to love wearing this bra under tanks and tops with low arm holes so that the lacy band peeks out.
Verdict: Adore Me is a hit with me once again! For $39.95 (and free shipping!), I got a super pretty set that fit my style and my body. I could see myself wearing this look together on a fancy night out, though the bra is cute and neutral enough to wear day-to-day. (The thong is, too, I just tend to only wear thongs when I absolutely need to, hehe.) Since I’ve seen high-quality bras for around $30-$40 at the store, so I’m more than happy to get a set of two unique pieces for that same cost. I do want to make sure I care for these lace pieces so they last, but I do think the lace is a bit more sturdy than other subscription undies I’ve gotten before.
