I love that the info card is illustrated and has the cute copy "Why it's rad"!

The back has a note from Katherine Martinez, the Director of E-Commerce, with a short synopsis of the items from this month's box.

IBY Beauty Dual Brow Highlighter - $12

I don't pay as much attention to my brows as I'd like, so I'm excited to receive a product that will help my #browgame. I only started filling mine in within the last few years, so beginning to highlight is new to me.

They suggest using the shimmery side on your brow bone...

And the pink end to highlight your eyes. I tried it out and so far look pretty ridiculous, but I need to watch a video or two to see how exactly I'm supposed to perfect this product! Tips welcome!!

Verb Ghost Oil, .57 oz. - Value $4 (get a 2 oz. bottle for $14 at Sephora)

Yay! I'm already familiar with Verb hair products and use a couple of them. I purchased this ghost oil in the past because I have really thin straight hair that needs fly aways tamed without being weighed down.

The oil is super light without being watery, and a little goes a long way! Since my hair is thin, it gets greasy really easily, so having a product like this is heaven sent. This will also help smooth out a mangled rats nest if you're prone to those when you wake up! Bonus: it smells lovely!

Patch Ya Later x Nylon "Wild Thing" Patch - Value $12

Patch popularity shows no sign of slowing down, so they've included an exclusive collaboration with Patch Ya Later!

The marigold, brown, and red colors of this patch conjures up a 70's vibe, and you can iron this on to your favorite backpack to let everyone know you are WILD.

Botanic Farm Mineral Pop Sparkling Bubble Pack, 95ml - Value $14

This is probably the item I'm most excited about in this box! I love Korean Beauty products and am especially into face products, so this bubble pack is perfect for me! I started with a clean face, and pumped a couple dollops of this into my hand to spread around my face. It immediately starts foaming when it touches your skin, and slowly starts bubbling. It's a really pleasant and subtle tingle, nothing too intense. It also smelled really nice!

After a few minutes of gentle bubbling, it turns into a thing layer of gel, which you rinse after a total of only five minutes. My skin felt slightly sticky at first, but after a few seconds, it dissipated and my skin felt super clean and fresh. Glowing even! Big win here!!

Gooten x Nylon Sticker Set - Listed Value $8.00

What a perfect sticker set for Nylon Box! It features a lot of things that the average Nylon fan probably loves; from jeans, to lipstick, to bestie necklaces. I'm not sure if these are worth the $8 list price, but they sure are "the coolest"! I'm a sticker freak, and love denim, so these are a great addition to any of my water bottles, phone cases, or whatever else I can think of to stick these on.

Amika Un.done Texture Spray, 1 oz. - Value $10

The first thing I said when I saw this was "Ooooh, was ist das?". I've been trying to "figure out" my hair for over 20 years, and products like this delight me.

It's a "texture spray", which means it's hopefully going to make my limp hair do a little something more. I sprayed it into golden locks and the first thing I noticed was how wonderful it smelled. The second was that it's sort of like a hairspray, but didn't leave my hair crunchy! This one's a keeper! Plus- check out that fun bottle!

Sigma Beauty Shimmer Cream in Brilliant - Value $16

I don't know the first thing about highlighting or contouring, but this is a product that does both. I applied this to my cheekbones and the bridge of my nose with my finger (as directed, to warm it up), and it had a super subtle shimmer to it that gave my face just a slight pop.

I'm lucky that this color is complimentary to my peachy skin tone, but I'm interested to see how it would look on a darker complexion as well.

Here are swatches for the dual brow highlighter and shimmer cream!

Verdict: I was super duper geeked to receive my first Nylon Box! I used to read Nylon Magazine all the time when I was younger, but felt that I sort of aged out of it. Trying to keep interested while reading Vogue proves that I was wrong, and even in my late 30's I have to accept that I am young at heart and like what I like! This box is a perfect embodiment of the magazine, and style. It's fun for younger millennials but someone like myself can squeal with delight at the products included. The presentation from box to info card is great, and the products were exactly what I'm interested to try! This one was heavier on the makeup/haircare/skincare than accessories (different from last months), so it's a great indicator that as the months go by, you'll get a great balance. Some of the listed prices were a little inflated, but the bulk was dead on. After finding most of it online, I estimate this box to be worth about $76, which is an AMAZING value, seeing as though the cost of the box is only $19.99. Keep up the great work, Nylon Box!! I'm already eagerly awaiting next month!

Any info on the September Nylon Box? In August, I didn’t get any shipping email…it just showed up on my doorstep around the 14th. I haven’t seen any news or spoilers and I am excited!

I’m wondering the same. I logged in on their site, and it looks like I was charged on the 15th. My order status is “unfulfilled”.

Any SEPTEMBER spoilers???

MrsLittle

Wait…$12 for an iron-on patch???

I actually dig the patch! It IS very retro & if it has a sticky back, I can affix to my make-up case.

I’m debating ordering this one or saving the $5 discount for the next box.

I am one of a VERY small majority who liked the first box more than this one. I felt that the first box reflected the vibe of Nylon magazine very well (my favorite women’s magazine; I’m 54), and stood out as being different from other boxes, with brands and even products that I hadn’t heard of, even though earlier this year I subscribed to a dozen beauty boxes.

This month is good, but it feels to me like a box that ipsy or Beauty Box 5 (both of which I like), or Allure or Sephora Play! (both of which I let go of when I had to cut back; I didn’t miss either one too much.) Maybe what I need is a box by an edgy-ish, fun magazine for tween and young teen girls. Too bad that doesn’t exist.

Looks like you need to start one? 😉

This box doesn’t deliver to Canada. It let me subscribe, charged me and then over a week later refunded it.

Ughhhh. Thanks for the heads up!

I’m probably in a VERY small minority of people who liked last month’s box more than this month’s. Last month’s had items and brands that I hadn’t heard of before, and I loved that it was different from other beauty boxes. I felt that it stayed true to the magazine’s vibe (I’m 54 and it’s my favorite women’s magazine). This month’s box feels so much like Allure and Beauty Box 5 and Sephora Play! and ipsy. I’ll probably swap away the IBY brow pencil and the Sigma highlighter. My stickers were missing so this will give a chance to see how their customer service is.

As my budget is super tight right now, I will probably cancel my subscription. Except for the stickers and the patch, which I’m not thrilled about anyway, I can easily swap for something similar to all these products and thus not have to part with any cash. Maybe I need a box curated by an edgy-ish magazine for tweens. You know, if something like that existed.

Got my box today! I love it! I’ve already tried the bubble mask and it’s fantastic. After one use the blackheads on my nose are visibly reduced, by a lot!

It kind of feels like putting your face in a bowl of seltzer, except you can breathe and it’s actually quite pleasant.

Plus, nylons customer service is remarkable! I wrote a review of the July box, and within days had an email from them thanking me and specifically referencing my review, along with a coupon for the nylon shop.

Lol that bubble mask. I’m getting use to it, but the first day I could only keep it on like 2 minutes. It tickled my face! It was kind of itchy but made me giggle. Each day I seem to be having a little more tolerance to it. It is fun to use though, and my skin does feel great after using it.

vanessa

Ooooh, that sounds promising!

Anybody else notice they sent dry shampoo & a patch last month? Allure was better than this box at only $15. Are any of these items full size?

Reply ButtonReply

KimberlyB

This month’s is a texture spray, not a dry shampoo, although they are both Amika. I would guess that the brow pencil, bubble pack, and shimmer cream are all full size.

Reply ButtonReply

Irene A

The mask, the highlighter, the brow pencil are all full size, and the two hair things are not the largest size available but are sizes you can purchase from Sephora or wherever, definitely larger than sample size! And you use so little of the hair oil it will last a long time.

I think you can bank on stickers and a patch or pin every month.

Laura

If you don’t want this box. You can manage your subscription in your account and ‘skip’ this month. I was really excited when i found that option.

Reply ButtonReply

KimberlyB

Thanks for mentioning this! I was thinking I’d have to unsub (budget woes) but maybe I can just skip a month or two.

Reply ButtonReply

Laura

I think it is too late for August because I already got my box today, 8/14/17… but check with their customer service for the ‘skip’ cut-off date for Sept and on, and to make sure it functions. I didn’t check with them. I only noticed the feature.

Jana

This looks like a HUGE improvement over the first box!

Jenny

Oh this month is lovely ! I dont have this sub but if they keep doing a good job like this, I will switch from Allure to Nylon

Re: the brow product:
Apply it *directly UNDER* your brows and blend downward so that it covers your brow bone. Directly applying to your brow bone and attempting to blend it out will make it look awkward, no matter how well you blend. You might also like the matte shade better (I know I do!).

Also, that Sigma product would probably be lovely as an eyeshadow!

Marne

Thanks for the tip, Joy!!

Joy

My pleasure! I hope it helps. Brow highlighters are one of my favorite makeup products. I am super lazy with my brow grooming and I suck at filling in my very sparse brows yet a brow highlighter manages to make my brows look “done”. In other words, brow highlighters are a good optical illusion lol. I do prefer matte colors as I feel they look more natural. I’m fair like you so I just use a cream-colored eyeshadow and it does the trick 🙂

MayaMrt

Has anyone else had their stickers missing?

Reply ButtonReply

KimberlyB

Mine were missing too. I will contact CS right now.

MayaMrt

Wow same day response from CS, my box was missing stickers and they responded that they are sending me 2 sheets of them, and they included tracking info. What a great costumer service!
