Disney Treasures Subscription Box Review – August 2017

Disney Treasures is a brand new subscription box from Funko. Like Funko’s other subscriptions – Smuggler’s BountyMarvel Collector Corps, and D.C. Legion of Collectors – this will ship every other month and will be based on a specific theme for each delivery.

This month’s theme was Tiny Town!

My Subscription Addiction pays for this subscription. (Check out the review process post to learn more about how we review boxes).

The Subscription Box: Disney Treasures

The Cost:

‘Traveler’ – For maximum flexibility, choose the Traveler membership. Travelers purchase one box at a time at a slightly higher per box price, but have the option to skip any theme they don’t want. Traveler members are automatically* billed every other month, and can cancel after any box.

‘Adventurer’ – Those looking for a little less commitment may choose the Adventurer membership. Adventurers purchase the next three boxes upfront and receive a welcome gift in their first box. Adventurer memberships are automatically* renewed semi-annually.

‘Pioneer’ – Our Pioneer membership is the best deal with the most exclusive perks. Members purchase all six boxes for the year upfront at a discounted price, and receive a welcome gift in their first box plus an exclusive Pioneers-only collectible gift every year on the anniversary of membership. Additionally, Pioneers receive a digital “founders” badge for Disney Treasures program. Pioneer memberships are automatically* renewed annually.

The Products: Each box features Funko figures and collectibles featuring characters from Classic Disney, Pixar Studios, and Disney Parks!

Ship To: US and Canada

Disney’s third box features items from A Bug’s Life, Cinderella, Pinocchio, Peter Pan, and the theme park ride – It’s a Small World.

You’ll get a treasure map style information sheet that details everything in the box, including little tidbits about each character and some production details.

The map on the reverse side shows us where we’ve been, and teases the next theme – Haunted Forest!

Each month also comes with a themed sticker to put on your box – collect all the stickers and give your original box a well-travelled suitcase look.

Patch + Pin – Value $10-15?

All Funko subscription boxes arrived with a themed patch and pin on the inner lid of your box – this is always the first items you’ll see!

This month’s patch features Dot from A Bug’s Life and the pin features Gus from Cinderella!

Tinker Bell POP – Value $20-25?

This month’s POP features the one-and-only Tinker Bell – perfect for this month’s theme.

I’m a really big fan of the flying or jumping POP sculpts – but this one takes the cake. How cool is the pixie dust trail boosting her up?

There’s a lot of detail to be found all around the POP – great sculpt this month.

There is a previous Tinker Bell POP – but this one is really much better than the first iteration!

It’s A Small World Drobz Ride – Value $20-25?

This month includes a Dorbz Ride like the first-ever box! I have to mention that I’m starting to love Dorbz Rides – I’ve recently picked up a Back to the Future, Ghostbusters, and Alladin Dorbz Rides – they’re a nicer size than a POP ride – and, look out wallet, I’m starting to collect them!

This is based off the dolls from the Disney Park ride – it features children representing Mexico and Holland.

Jiminy Cricket Mini Tin – Value $10?

The mini tin line continues this month with Jiminy Cricket!

The tin itself is always fun to look at, and even display – and it includes lots of Pinnochio call outs.

Jiminy is 3 inches tall and ready to join your Disney minis collection!

Verdict: I always get excited when any of the Funko subscription lines make it to the doorstep – I love collecting these things, and the Disney subscription has proven to be a ton of fun each and every month. So far, they’ve done a good job of mixing in some movie and Pixar franchises in with park rides and classic Disney characters – it’s been a little bit for everyone!

  1. I’m seeing the cost is now $28 per box for the year subscription plus shipping. Are there any coupon codes?

  2. The packaging and details are so amazing for this box! Everything is super cute!

  3. Yes, if you’re looking to add to your Small World Dorbz Ride collection, you can look for the Disney Parks Exclusive set featuring Africa and Asia dolls that are coming soon.

  4. Looooooove that Jiminy Cricket! Is this box still available for purchase?

    • This one isn’t available anymore. You’ll start with the Haunted Forest theme.

  5. You forgot to mention that there’s going to be another Dorbz Ride coming to the Parks. It’s on the map

  6. I just subscribed, does anyone know if I will get this box or the October box as my first? I am really hoping for this one now thay I see it, but I broke down a d subscribed for the October box’s Malificient (sorry if spelled that wrong) dragon as she is the favorite Gillian of myself, and my Granddaughter. Still my Bella has a Tinkerbelle obsession.

    • You’ll start with the Haunted Forest themed box.

  7. Disney Treasures is blowing all the other Funko boxes out of the water, holy cow.

    • When Disney wants to do something right, they do it right. Given how sizable the collectible market is, I feel like this box was something they felt it was worth going whole hog for.
