This review is of the Wantable Style Edit, $20 a month, box.
When I signed up for Style Edit, I took a very extensive profile quiz. It was exciting to see the various questions and visual outfits I could like, love, or dislike. They asked what categories I wanted to receive (or not receive), along with the occasions I typically dress for (ie work, night out, etc). I chose color and price preferences as well. I completed my profile with high hopes that my stylist would be able to understand my sense of style.

I have a new stylist this month! Laura sent seven fresh summer styles that I can mix and match with current favorites in my closet. If I were to keep the entire box, the $428 total would be discounted $105.60 (20% off + $20 styling fee deducted). With this discount, each item would cost an average of $46.06.
Wantable also includes a USPS return bag for anything I decide to return.
Let's take a look at what I got!
Chaser Weekends Graphic Tee - Cost to keep: $62
I love a bold graphic tee and what better statement than "Weekends. Coffee. & Dogs."? This t-shirt is made by Chaser, who donates 10% of proceeds to A Dogs Life Rescue, who cares for abandoned, abused and neglected dogs. I appreciate this item so much more after reading Chaser's tag. The shirt itself is made of 60% cotton and 40% polyester, and the burned out texture is super soft. It's an oversized fit but perfect to tuck into a pair of denim on a casual Saturday. The $62 price tag is definitely steep, but I do greatly appreciate the mission behind this item.
Meritage Cropped Skinny Step Hem - Cost to keep: $124
I received a couple pairs of pants this month and the first is a nicely distressed pair of denim by Meritage. This is a new brand to me and I really like the fit of this particular pair. They are a cotton/polyester/rayon/spandex blend and fit true to size.
The mid-rise fits comfortably on my waist. Denim is my favorite piece of clothing in the entire world, so fit is super important. This pair, although not high-waisted, is solid quality. However, I immediately notice there's a faux front pocket! It's not a deal breaker, but at $124, I would think all pockets would be functional.
Along with distressing on each leg, the hem is frayed and asymmetrical - something I've never worn before. Seriously, what else can be done to a jean hem at this point?! I personally really like the look, especially with a casual loafer or pair of flats. Overall, I'm happy with this pair, but since I own a lot of distressed denim, I need to decide whether this pair is special enough for $124. The unique hem is swaying me. 🙂
Newbury Kustom Distressed Pocket Tee in Charcoal - Cost to keep: $38
I want to love this top, but I don't get the intrigue of this distressing. First, though, it's a great tee - it fits super relaxed, has a nice deep v-neck and pocket, and made of a rough and durable (almost starchy) 100% cotton. If it wasn't entirely covered in small holes, I would keep this and ask for it in every color! And don't get me wrong, I clearly love distressing, but there is nothing natural or stylish to the distress pattern here. In my opinion, it's over-produced, and not for me.
Le Lis Sleeveless Romper in Blush - Cost to keep: $50
This romper is so pretty! The light pink of the 100% polyester is really beautiful. And although polyester, the fabric is soft, lightweight, and borderline sheer. So, I'm really happy to see the top and shorts are lined! It fits true to size and I feel confident wearing it, despite a shorter-than-normal-for-me length on the shorts.
I absolutely love that there's a top layer billowing out over the waist. It gives the romper a relaxed look, but can also be dressed up with the right heels and jewelry.
And I also love the split in the back, which exposes a zipper. I typically steer away from trying on rompers at the store, so I'm super happy Wantable sent this to try on. It totally compliments my style and perfect for right now. I could also see layering this with a chunky knit cardigan and booties as the temperatures cool down.
SweetRain Apparel Cold Shoulder Floral V-Neck - Cost to keep: $48
Well, with the cold shoulder trend staying put, I have gotten used to seeing these tops in various clothing boxes. They are not my style at all, but I'm willing to try them on, with the hope one will strike the right chord. This particular style is a lightweight polyester floral with a long-sleeve. I appreciate the color palette and relaxed fit, but I don't think this is a win for me personally.
I like the billowy sleeve and boho vibe, but there's something about the top that makes me feel aged while wearing it. Perhaps the longer front and back? Or the cut paired with this floral pattern? I imagined the top without the cold shoulder cut-outs and I still don't think it would be a great addition to my wardrobe.
Kensie Ankle Biter Jeans in Pistachio - Cost to keep: $58
On the other hand, these jeans are a home run! I wasn't really looking for a classic colored pair of denim, but for $58, I will strongly consider keeping them. They are a cotton/rayon/lycra blend which would normally feel too stretchy, but fit incredible. They are also a mid-rise but literally fit like a glove on my waist, hips and through the leg.
They are an ankle length which I'm also really enjoying right now. And the pistachio shade of green isn't season-specific. I could easily wear these all year long. Overall these are no frills, but that's okay for the price!
Dreamers Cardigan in Black - Cost to keep: $48
Last up is this super soft black cotton/rayon cardigan. It's never too early in the summer to start thinking about fall in my book, so I'm happy Wantable sent this to consider. They suggest layering on cooler nights, which this cardigan would be perfect for.
There's an ease to this cardigan and I like that it hangs a little longer in the back. The fabric is lightweight but feels like a good quality. For $48, this is another win!
Verdict: This is my second Wantable Style Edit box and I'm overall happy! Although I had some misses, I feel Wantable understands my style and how to round-out my wardrobe in ways I may not have considered on my own. I feel there was a nice balance of price points this month, which are comparable to Stitch Fix and lower than Trunk Club. For $20 a month (which also includes free shipping and returns), Wantable Style Edit is a low-risk way of shopping for clothes in the comfort of your home. I'm excited to see what's in store next month!
