Now, on to the items!

Que Bella Limited Edition Duo – Dead Sea Mud & Pineapple Peel Off- 2 pc - Value $4

If you like pineapple, you will love this pineapple mask! It's basically a tropical cocktail without the hangover or the calories! You leave it on for 20 minutes, enjoy the pineapple scent, then peel it off to reveal hydrated skin. The mask also claims to help firm your skin, but I didn't notice any differences there. No complaints, though!

The clay mask was lovely, too. (But it's a tough act to follow pineapple!) It took about 15 minutes to dry, then I rinsed it off to squeaky clean skin!

John Frieda Frizz Ease Secret Weapon - .15 oz Value $.20

(FYI - when Target released this box, the photo included a 1 oz tube, not a .15 oz foil packet.)

This cream is designed to be used on dry hair. It helps tame frizz, and softness, and it didn't weigh down my hair. Not bad!

Neutrogena Makeup Remover Cleansing Towelettes – (7 count) Value $1.25

These are always a useful essential I’m happy to receive in a beauty box. They work well at removing eye makeup - all I need!

Scunci Cashmere Headwraps (Black and Charcoal)- 2 ct Value $2

These headbands are softer than the usual, but for me, they have one fatal flaw: no grippy side!

These slid off my head in record time! I'll pass them along to someone who can use them!

Acure Day Cream – 1 oz Value $9.70

(Good to know for swaps – comes with foil seal)

This is more than half the size of the full-size version! (1.75 oz). Acure is one of my favorite brands – it is great to find an affordable natural beauty brand that works! (And if you have allergies or sensitivities, their product line is free of pretty much any ingredient you may want to avoid!). This cream is lightweight and has a light citrus scent – I love it!

Neutrogena Hydro Boost Water Gel - .25 oz Value $2.65

This gel is so lightweight! It absorbs almost instantly, adds moisture, and dries with a matte finish. I wish it wasn't scented, but the scent fades quickly, and it left my skin SO soft.

e.l.f. Illuminating Mist & Set - FULL SIZE! Value $4

This is a makeup setting mist that also adds a subtle shimmer/glow. The mist isn't as fine as I'd like, but it still works well. e.l.f. also recommends using this on your makeup brushes if you want a more intense application of an eye shadow, blush, etc!

Secret Cool Waterlily Clear Gel Deodorant- 0.5 oz Value $1

Secret is the deodorant brand I use on the regular, but I personally prefer the stick version. (I don't know why but waiting a few seconds for the gel to dry just isn't for me!) This will be donated.

Verdict: This box has a value of about $25. I think that's great for a $7 beauty box. And the sizes and products sampled are great, too. It's no surprise that this box sold out quickly!

I like this box. I would never contact them over one foil product that should have been a tube! I’m just not that picky personally, especially over some frizz ease junk.

I didn’t buy the July Target box, but I for one am glad that people reported the discrepancy to Target customer service, because hopefully that means that Target won’t make the same mistake again.
We already have a Walmart box that is handled extremely incompetently, I don’t want Target to be another one.

My box didn’t come with the Neutrogena moisturizer. I was debating if it’s worth calling them for a tiny sample but I ended up doing it. They gave me a $3.50 refund. A virtual gift card was sent to my email.

Why are they handling this so differently per customer? My emails went unanswered. I called this morning & explained that based on the picture on their website, description of products, # of products & the price, for the 1st time, I purchased 2 boxes. #1) the Frizeeze is shown as a tube, not a foil packet. #2) one box had an almost empty deodorant & the other had an almost empty neutrogena product. Since I bought 2, I could compare. Now that I’ve seen the baby box, I don’t have the extra $7 for that. I asked if they would like me to send them back one of their boxes for a refund + the $3-$4 it will cost me to ship back? They put me on hold for about 5 minutes. Then I was told they are refunding the cost of both boxes. 1-800-591-3869

The foil packet for the Frizz Ease was disappointing, but not a deal breaker for me (I mostly wanted to try the masks and Acure lotion here). Interestingly, my deoderant sample was the invisible solid, not the gel. I’m okay with that since I prefer the solid. I plan to stash it in my desk at work for emergency days when the AC is broken. Overall a decent box, even though 2/8 products were not as described. For $7 I’m not going to complain.

I got an email to review the product, so I thought that would be a good place to tell them the box was not as advertised, but clicking the link brought me to an empty page because they took it offline. Why send a product review request for a product they no longer list on their site? Poorly executed on their part. And I’m sure I will get reminder emails to review it even though I can’t.

I love the Neutrogena wipes! I got the Wal Mart brand once and they sting my eyes, so I go back to these. This wasn’t an awful box

Always a great value. Headbands are always loose though, thanks for the hot glue tip!

Reply ButtonReply

JuJu

Won’t the glue pull out your hair?

Reply ButtonReply

Tori

You make little beads of four and let them dry. They act like little grippers!

Stacie

Liz – Have you ever tried putting a little hot glue on the underside of the headbands to act as a grippy?

I have the same issue and once I have crafting space again, I’ll be doing it to mine!

Oo! Great tip! Thank you! 🙂 (I feel like I’ve seen a few super glue hack/tip videos on Facebook, but never one with this brilliant idea!)

I am a bit disappointed at the John Frieda not being a tube, but I’m still thrilled with this box. I already use the Acure Day Cream, which costs $17 at Target. Two of these boxes gives you 0.3 oz more of the product than a full size and costs $3 less (more if you had a coupon, gift card, or Red card). The rest is basically all free stuff, and good stuff at that! I bought two 🙂

I love this box! $7.00??? Yes! I purchased 2. 1 for me & 1 for my teenage daughter but she doesn’t know that. I think this box was very well thought out. Headbands to hold your hair back, makeup remover wipes, 2 facial masks, 2 moisturizers, full size makeup setting spray, hair product & my favorite type of antiperspirant. I’m restocking my travel bag so this box helped a lot! My only disappointments are that the Frizeeze product was shown in a tube but it’s a foil packet, not good for travel, & I am a little disappointed in the tiny size of the neutrogena gel moisturizer. I expected it to be small per the previews but it is super tiny. Since I purchased 2 boxes, I did notice a couple of things. The Secret antiperspirant, one has about a week to 2 weeks worth in it but the other is almost completely empty,3 to 4 days & they were both sealed. Same thing with the Neutrogena gel moisturizer. One of the tiny tubes feels full so I put it in my travel bag. The other was almost completely empty. I got 1 1/2 uses out of it. Oh well, it was still well worth the money for me.

I actually like this box better than the Allure box I just received.

Haha, I said the same thing last night about my Boxy Charm box that arrived at the same time. I received more joy and will use more products from this $7 box than the $20-something Boxy Charm.

Judy

Well worth $5.

I was not pleased with this box—I would never have purchased it if I had known there would be so many foil packets.

After skipping the last few Target boxes, I purchased two of these with a $5 off coupon and my Red Card. Very happy!!!! I shared items with both my daughter and my son. Mud masks are great for teen acne. I am disappointed the Frizz Ease was a foil packet, but still overall happy with the return on my $10. Now, what to use those $3 coupons on?!

I contacted Target.com and they refunded me $2 for the packet (which should have been the 1oz tube).

Judy

Thanks for the tip! I contacted target too and got a refund!! Would never have thought to do that!!! Actually, i didnt even notice!!

Dana

Thanks for posting this. I had purchased 2 boxes, and I’m literally chatting with someone right now. They said they’ll refund me $5 back.

Barbara

Jennifer, thanks for the tip! I contacted Target via CHAT and politely told them of my disappointment and disillusionment with the piece….and they refunded me $2 as well.

I needed to be pushed on this…many thanks!

Sarah Keith

Good to know, thanks!

A

Thanks for the tip!

I loved the pineapple mask, but I think something in the clay mask irritated my skin. It’s a bit red tonight. Also the back of the headbands’ package has a 50 cent coupon. I almost threw mine away before I noticed it!

I just used the pineapple mask tonight. Omg! It smells so good and now my face is baby butt smooth! Great find in this box! I did the hot glue gun trick on one of the head bands. It works!

This was a pretty useful Summer box! Too bad I missed it.

By using the setting spray on brushes do they mean spray the brush first and then dip it into product? Or the other way around?

Reply ButtonReply

Cyndi

I dampened my brush with the product, then stroked it across the eyeshadow. It prevented fallout and the shadow applied smoothly. I usually dampen my brush with water, so this worked a little nicer, I think.

Reply ButtonReply

JuJu

By “product” I meant eyeshadow, blush, or whatever else you might be using.

Thank you for the reply.

Alex

I think spray on the product first. Then use the brush. But it probably works either way.

Tara

I wonder if I can pour the elf into an empty bottle of urban decay setting spray so that it sprays better?

Reply ButtonReply

em

I didn’t even think of this! I just ran out of out my NYX setting spray, which is about the same size as e.l.f., but has a finer mist when it sprayed.

I’ll have to try this to see if it works. E.l.f. setting spray is a great product, but the mist isn’t fine enough and I end up looking like I splashed water all over my face.

Reply ButtonReply

Lawden

Yes!! You can! My supergoop setting spray got clogged and stopped spraying after 2 times! It was the full size too!! And it’s amazing besides the packaging by the way, but I just poured it into a deluxe size UD all nighter setting spray and it works great! I’m sure you could do it with any empty bottle of setting spray so good luck!

Reply ButtonReply

Dana

Great idea! I have a travel size bottle of it right now, and it’s almost gone, and I just bit the bullet and bought the bigger bottle. I’ve been afraid of all the horror stories I’ve heard about the sprayer not working, so it’s good to know you can put it into another bottle. I’ll just put it into the travel one (a little at a time), which works great because then it fits in my purse! 🙂

Alex

This is such a great beauty hack!
