Clase Azul Reposado 20th Anniversary Limited Edition Bottle
FYI - I'm not listing a value because I can't find the 20th Anniversary version of this bottle for sale on line. (The regular version is around $90.)
This is such a gorgeous liquor bottle! It's a white ceramic decanter that is hand painted with blue accents. (It measures about 15 inches in height.)
And this Limited Edition version has a gold metal stamp and cap:
There were only 7300 bottles made originally, and then an additional amount for Robb Vices subscribers. (Total, there were less than 13,000 bottles of this tequila ever made.)
We had to open this and try it, but you can leave it unopened as a collector's item. (For reference, the Clase Azul Ultra Anejo goes for prices of up to $300 a glass.) This isn't the Ultra Anejo, but it is much rarer.
This tequila is crafted only from Highland Blue Weber agave. It underwent an extra maturation process in sherry and bourbon casks. First four months in bourbon casks, then another four months in sherry casks from the south of Spain.
We're planning on using this to make super classy Margaritas (there's a recipe for The Grande Clase Azul Margarita in the booklet). But, in the meantime, my husband Eric and I decided to try this straight up!
We both found the tequila to be much smoother than any other version we've tried. Thanks to Robb Vices, I'm learning what quality liquor should taste like!
Dardimans Mexican Crisps - Value $2
I've sampled Dardimans fruit crisps before thanks to Robb Vices, and I'm a big fan! There are no added sugars or preservatives, and the fruit is just as light and crunchy as you'd expect from a "crisp."
You can use these in a cocktail, or if you're like me, you'll finish them a minute after you open the bag!
Verdict: I love the presentation and the Limited Edition exclusiveness of this box, but it was a bit of a disappointment to only have 2 items in this box. (And the crisps are delicious but don't really count as a big item for me.)
On a positive side, the tequila is amazing, and our bar cart has never looked better. I feel like the value is definitely there for this box, and I can appreciate quality over quantity. (I just hope that for August Robb Vices goes back to quality + quantity!)
What do you think of this box from Robb Vices? Do you have an amazing bar thanks to this subscription?
