Yuzen Beauty Subscription Box Review – Summer 2017
Yuzen is one of the original eco subscription boxes. It’s a mix of spa, beauty, and the occasional food item, and everything is made with natural ingredients.
This box was sent to us for review purposes. (Check out the review process post to learn more about how we review boxes).
The packaging of this box is beautiful! And all the items come in a reusable bag:
The Subscription Box: Yuzen
The Cost: $35 a quarter
The Products: Eco-friendly products to nourish the body and soul.
Ships to: US only.
Each box comes with a fold out card that details the items and brands featured. For each item, they also let you know why they picked it for the box.
Now, on to the items!
Nubian Heritage Indian Hemp & Haitian Vetiver 24 Hour Deodorant – FULL SIZE! Value $9
I love the Nubian Heritage line and all their scents I’ve sampled so far. This is another lovely scent!
I also appreciated that it didn’t irritate my skin like some natural deodorants do. Unfortunately for me, I need a deodorant and an antiperspirant, so this didn’t cut it.
Lather Cucumber & Ginseng Facial Mist – 2 oz Value $5.70
This is just as refreshing as you’d hope a cucumber facial mist would be. (I recommend storing it in the fridge for hot days!) One thing to mention – the mist isn’t as fine as I’d prefer, so definitely hold it far from your face if you don’t want to mess up makeup!
Purity of Elements Radiance Face Serum – FULL SIZE! Value $58
A full-size serum worth more than the cost of the box? Yes, please!
This serum is designed to “help improve the appearance of skin radiance, texture, and smoothness, and to help reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles.”
Eslor Firming Eye Cream – .5 oz Value $37.50
This is a great sized sample (half the size of the full size version). I found the formula to be moisturizing, gentle, and it left skin feeling super smooth. I was NOT a fan of the scent, though! (It’s fragrance-free, and I think this is the first time I wished a skincare item had added perfume!) The scent fades, though!
MyChelle Dermaceuticals Sun Shield Unscented Broad Spectrum SPF 28 – .25 oz Value $2.20
This sunscreen is a thick cream that goes on white but blends in clear quickly. And unlike a lot of sunscreens, it dries within seconds too. A+!
Shea Moisture Youth-Infusing Mud Mask – 15 ml Value $3
I’m a huge fan of the Shea Moisture line (thanks, Target Beauty Box, for getting me hooked) and these masks are new to me!
Shea Moisture Radiance Mud Mask – 15 ml Value $3
Both were gentle on my skin (but I read some reviews where people said they irritated their skin), so I recommend spot testing this first.
For each mask, you leave them on for about 10 minutes then remove. The mud dries when on your face, but it didn’t make my skin feel tight. My favorite was the Coconut & Hibiscus because of the tropical scent. Both left my skin feeling super smooth – I can’t say I noticed a huge difference in the formulas.
St. Claire’s Organics Raspberry Tarts – FULL SIZE! Value $3
These are yummy and free of all common allergens! (Wheat-free, Gluten-free, Dairy-free, Casein-free, Nut-free, Soy-free, Egg-free, Fish/Shellfish-free, Corn-free. 100% vegetarian.)
Verdict: This box has a value of about $120. I think that’s incredible for a $35 all-natural beauty and spa box! (And one of the highest values we’ve seen from Yuzen in a while!) I like that this box has some great sized skincare products, too.
What do you think of the Summer 2017 Yuzen box? What is your favorite item?
