This month the package included new beige tissue paper and matching inclusion card. The card has a refreshed design and quote from Anna Wintour. On the reverse are instructions for returning jewelry when you're all done with the rental.

Switch will always use USPS First Class mail to send your jewelry unless it weighs more than 1 pound. Each package comes with a prepaid USPS return label so you can leave your return for your mail carrier or drop it off at the post office if you're the nervous type (like me!)

Each jewelry piece always comes in a black velvet bag or a branded pouch.

Odette Mira Cuff - Value $225, Member Price $205

I was so excited to get this bracelet in the mail as soon as I saw it added to the Switch collection. The shiny gold-tone brass finish is perfect and the abstract design spoke to me. It was even better in person! The bracelet bends slightly to fit my wrist perfectly so it stays in place without bouncing around or sliding down my arm. The scale is exactly what my wrist needs and it's a great weight to wear comfortably wear all day.

I am obsessed with this bracelet and have been wearing it every single day. It is sculptural and abstract and feels 100% perfect for me.

I was so smitten with this piece that I decided to keep it! I have a lot of statement necklaces but rarely find bracelets that suit me so well so I decided this was worth the splurge. To purchase, I logged in with my account, viewed my "current pieces", and clicked "buy now." Pro tip: Switch awards members $10 in purchase credit for every month of membership or you can score $10 for each friend you refer.

Next up is a choker necklace, also slipped into a black velvet bag for safe keeping on the journey to me.

Isabel Marant Tasseled Cotton Choker - Value $125, Member Price $65

It's been a while since I've worn a shorter necklace or choker but I've been seeing them everywhere today. This is what's fun about Switch, being able to try a high quality version of a trend without having to pay full price. This necklace is wrapped in cotton thread and has gold-tone brass hardware. Attached to the necklace are fun little tassels in colors that complement the red, blue, and cream tones of the chain.

I really liked the necklace when I picked it up but it didn't look as great on. It holds onto its shape pretty firmly so it lifted off my neck instead of resting against me. The tassels followed suit and hung tightly at jaunty angles. This was a fun style to try but didn't work on me.

My third piece this month is a bold resin statement bracelet, also packed in a velvet bag.

Marni Resin Bracelet - Value $330, Member Price $255

As you can tell, I'm into abstract shapes this month and was super excited about this big statement bracelet! I realized though that as I usually wear black clothing, this piece didn't quite pop against my wardrobe. It was definitely fun to wear though and reminded me of some mod style vintage pieces I've owned over the years. This would look fantastic with a light or patterned dress.

The bracelet was a bit heavier than I expected and fell far down on my wrist. It wasn't super comfortable to wear because of the shape, so it's more fun for a night out than wearing to work.

Verdict: I was so excited to try some new abstract and modern pieces in my Switch this month! The total retail value of the items in my shipment this month was $680 for a rental price of $69/month for 3 pieces. I loved the Odette Mira bracelet so much I had to keep it, and it made me want to shop the Odette brand more in the future. The choker and resin bracelet weren't as huge a hit for me, but the bracelet was a lot of fun and I really like that Switch is carrying more pieces that fit my style so well. I am impressed with how this service is evolving and improving!

Is there some kind of insurance option? I’d be too scared to wear these expensive pieces because of the chance of a scratch or other damage.

That’s a great question and definitely a concern with a service like this. Here’s what the Switch site says:

“Don’t worry about minor dings and normal wear and tear. And of course, if anything is lost or damaged in shipping, you will not be responsible. But if the piece is otherwise lost, stolen, or damaged beyond repair, please inform us immediately. Your credit card will be charged for the member price, which is almost always much lower than the original retail price. Once we charge your card, you can rent out another piece.”

Hope that helps!
