The packaging on these boxes is always amazing! (Each item is individually wrapped in silver tissue paper.)

Now, on to the items!

Helena Quinn Custom Kimono - Retail Value $120

This design is an exclusive collaboration made just for Box of Style. The fabric is Georgette Poly Blend and the measurements are:

  • Length 36″
  • Chest armpit to armpit 22.5″
  • Below hip is 27″
  • Laid flat completely open 46″

I'm a size medium/large 6/8, and this fits me loosely with plenty of room to spare.

The material is lightweight, sheer, and soft. It won't take up much room if you are packing it for a vacay, and it could work as summer robe, too. (I love this piece so much I'm trying to think of ways to wear it as often as possible.)

I think the loose fit and the way the fabric drapes are really flattering, too.

Raen Durante Sunglasses in your choice of Black or Tortoise - Value $150

(Subscribers were able to pick if they wanted the black or tortoise option.)

I normally wear square or aviator sunglasses, so I wasn't sure if this cat eye look would work for my face, but I ended up loving it! (Modeled in lower photo - let me know what you think.)

These have such a glamorous vibe!

These are a polished black frame handmade from zyl acetate. And they feature a laminated foil RAEN logo on the left temple.

Sole Society Straw Panama Hat - Value $27

I'm not a big pom wearer, but I love the pom ribbon on this hat - it's the perfect amount of flair to add some interest to an otherwise simple straw hat.

It measures about 25" in circumference, and it fit my (large) head!

The Brave Collection Compass Necklace - Value $115

The Brave Collection is a new-to-me brand and I'm so happy to see it in this box! This piece was crafted by hand by fair trade artisans in Cambodia. And 10% of all profits are donated toward the fight against human trafficking.

And I'm obsessed with the jewelry piece, too! I love all things gold and delicate, and this will be my necklace of the summer!

It's made with Micron Plated 14K Gold and measures 16 inches long. (FYI - no extender on this necklace - so depending on your necklace needs, you may want to buy an extender.)

Here is everything on:

I love how the kimono could easily work as a swimsuit cover up, or as part of an outfit.

This box really gave you everything you need for a complete summer look! Here is a better look at the sleeve to give you a sense of the sheerness of the fabric:

And we still have a few more beauty items in this box!

Beauty Counter Cream Blusher in Hibiscus - Value $37

Beautycounter is one of my favorite ingredient-conscious brands. (Check out the list of 1500 ingredients they don't include in their formulas.)

This blush is a great summer bag item, too. It's multipurpose (works on lips, too), highly pigmented, and easy to blend. Here it is swatched:

It's so creamy! And that's just one swipe, so the stick should last you a while!

Beautycounter Protect Stick Sunscreen - Value $18

This is a face sunscreen stick that is white in stick form but goes on completely clear.

It's water resistant for 80 minutes, too. (And it has a fab faint cocoa butter scent!)

Verdict: I've been saying this every season lately, but this is my favorite Box of Style box of all time! (And it's one of my top favorite subscription boxes of all time, too!) There are some fashion items here that push me out of my comfort zone, but that's exactly what I want from this box! I feel like Rachel and The Zoe Report team put together a fashion forward box that anyone can wear and get that effortlessly glamorous look.

And this box has a retail value of $467! Every piece feels high-quality and luxe, too. I'm so impressed!

What do you think of the Summer Box of Style?

I got a box for myself as part of my subscription then tried to get one for a friend and paid extra for expedited shipping. That was a week ago, and they said they still can’t tell me when it will ship. Will not be ordering again. Too bad.

I finally got my box yesterday. The kimono is LONG and HUGE on me. It is beautiful but I many have to give it away to a friend. I like the rest of the box. The sunnies are great! I got the tortoise. The hat was a bit large on me so I used the hair band from Happy Rebel to make it fit. I love the cream blush and I am going to use the sunscreen on my hands. I wish the necklace had been more of a statement piece.I am so over 16 inch necklaces. It would have been beautiful if that design had been scaled up to a large pendant and long. All in all this is not my favorite box. Winter 2016 is my all time favorite box. I liked Spring. But I felt something was missing in this box.

Finally received my box and both the necklace and sunglasses are missing. I emailed them, but what are the chances I actually get them replaced?

I registered for this box a few weeks ago and I am wondering how the shipping works? I haven’t received a shipping confirmation or anything. 🙁

Reply ButtonReply

Kinobibun

Just in case anybody is wondering, customer service told me that international orders (I’m in Canada) take three to four weeks to be shipped. Apparently, there will be a tracking email. I’m hoping that the three to four weeks includes the delivery time and is not just until the shipping information is created!!! I’d like to see my box before the end of the summer. 🙁

Anna

I subscribed to this box last week and received my shipping confirmation a few days later. The shipping confirmation came from a different email address than the receipt. Have you checked your spam/junk to see if it got caught in your filters?

Reply ButtonReply

Susan

I found the best way to track my shipping was to download the FedEx app and create a user ID and password. It’s quite amazing that they know when packages are coming to your address, and you can receive notifications including scheduled delivery times. As soon as the label is created, you should see the Box show up. Normally, you will receive an email with shipping confirmation, but I have to be honest that there have been times I never received that from the Zoe Team. I live in New Jersey, and normally it takes about a week after the label is created for me to receive the Box. Hope you get your soon and love it! 😎

Just received my box today. Love it all! Unfortunately, even with a bandana tied around my head, the hat is huge. It’s adorable, and that was probably the thing I was most excited about. I recently went through 6 surgeries because of skin cancer on my scalp (transplant meds stink), so I was excited to receive a cute hat for the summer. I’m not sure there is any possible way I can get this to work for me. It’s so cute though. I hope everyone loves hers if it fits. For those who are wondering, I am an annual subscriber. I received my shipping notification on June 16th, so it took 1 week to get to NJ. My add-ons notification was also on June 16, and that is scheduled for delivery on June 27th. Going to the movies and a nice dinner on the Hudson River with girlfriends tomorrow, and I’m trying to see if there’s a way I can wear the kimono with a black spaghetti-strap jumpsuit. It’s supposed to be very hot here in NJ, so I’m not really sure it will work. We will be eating al fresco, so the poly might be too much. The sunglasses are definitely going to be part of my outfit during the day. Thanks, Team Zoe!! 💜😎

A trick to getting the hat to fit is adding an elasticized band (scrunched ones with fabric on it are great) on both the left and right side of the inside and only sewing the ends into the hat. Just cut the lengths to fit your head. The bands should keep the hat on your head.

I’m so disappointed. My sunglasses have a warped frame. They keep sliding off my face. I emailed customer service and they told me to take them to an optometrist to have them adjusted. Excuse me? You sent me a defective item and you want me to pay to have it fixed? Not to mention there is no amount of adjustments that can fix it. It doesn’t need to be tightened, it is not even level.

Reply ButtonReply

Susan

Yikes! I absolutely love this box, but stories like this really bother me. Having worked for Disney and directing IT for several companies, I would never allow this answer. I’m so sorry. Try posting your concern on their social media sites.

Reply ButtonReply

Jessica T

I had initially sent them a picture showing how it made one side much higher than the other. This was their exact reply:Hi Jessica,

Thank you for contacting The Zoe Report Box of Style! I’m so sorry for the inconvenience. We ask that you have them adjusted by an optometrist for better fitting. This is due to the availability of products per season. Also to ensure accurate quantity for customer selections.

Again, sorry for the inconvenience this may have caused.
If you have additional questions please let me know. =)

xoxo,
Tim from Team Zoe

I have sent them back a pic showing the sunglasses with a carpenter level on top of it. I’m waiting to see if they reply.

Anna

Ugh this review totally got me! Just signed up as an Annual Subscriber because of this box and looking through the past boxes on the site! Such a good curation … I am so excited! I have to admit the kimono is what I’ve been coveting from the first time I saw the reveal of this season’s box and every time I would check the box out I just loved all of the products even more! I’ve been on a bit of a “subscription spree” the last couple of days while I’m home from work recovering from surgery…. not sure my husband is going to like all these packages coming my way but I’ll blame it on the pain meds 🙂

Courtney

Does anyone know how long it takes the box to ship? Should I have received shipping info by now?

Reply ButtonReply

Summersam

I was wondering the same thing! No tracking yet! And I’m an annual subscriber

Reply ButtonReply

Lisa Airesman

Definitely send them a note.

I’m also an annual subscriber and normally see the shipping notification around the first of the month. Currently the site states shipping by mid-month, so I anticipated a delay. After hearing nothing, I then contacted them on June 16. Although my account page states that the sunglasses color was selected/submitted, I was told that the system did not have it logged and therefore box was not in line for shipping. I re-confirmed my selection via email with customer service and received shipping notification a couple of days later; should have box by Friday.

This is year two for me and have always received my box with no issues or delays.
But sometimes things happen, so I’d contact them just in case.

I just got my box and hair towel add on a couple days ago. Everything is beautiful and high quality BUT the kimono, hat, and glasses are all too BIG for me. I can use the kimono for a robe only because it’s so long and I could wrap it around twice. I really wish it had been offered in sizes. I’ll have to gift the hat and glasses to someone. I love the delicate gold necklace. It’s pretty and simple enough to wear every day. Personally, I like this necklace much better than the statement necklace in the Winter BOS. The blush is pretty and the sunscreen will be used by someone in my family. I guess my favorite things are the necklace and hair towel add on. It’s disappointing to get so many items that you really like but don’t fit. IMO, if the box includes clothing items, they should offer a selection of sizes.

I just got my box. Love everything in it. The hat is too big for my head but otherwise everything is great. The blush is a perfect color for the summer. I don’t normally wear gold jewelry but the necklace is so delicate it suits me. I love that it was made in Cambodia and part of the profits go to charity too. The kimono is way outside of my comfort zone but it looks really great so I’m going to try to wear it as much as possible. I think it’s perfect for rooftop drinks or brunch. I haven’t tried the sunscreen yet, but I like that it’s not chemical based. This box is a total win for me.

Have any annual subscribers not received their box or tracking yet?? Still waiting. Was charged in May. Impatient in Alabama 😉

Reply ButtonReply

Lorna

I’m annual in ny, already received my box. But did not get any of the add-ons I paid for.

Reply ButtonReply

Susan

I got shipping confirmation, and the add-ons are shipping separately. I’m an annual subscriber in New Jersey, and did not receive my box yet. Right now the box is scheduled for Tuesday, 6/26, and the add-ons don’t have a scheduled date yet. Looks like the label was created only.

So, I’m seeing the passport wallets for annual subscribers show up on the swap site. I didn’t receive one and I’m an annual subscriber. Is it worth trying to contact their CS about this?

Just curious. I wasn’t aware there were benefits for being an annual subscriber.

Reply ButtonReply

Emily

Emailed their CS and got this response:

“The passport holder was a gift for Annual subscribers whose Summer box is the last box in their subscription period.
Our records indicate that you are still set to receive one more box in your subscription after the Summer box. Your Fall box will be the box that arrives with your Annual gift. 🙂 ”

So good to know for future reference for any annual members who receive bonus gifts.

Are you sure those arent the fabfitfun ones? They say “one the road again”.

Reply ButtonReply

Nope, they’re red leather ones.

Breana

I received my box and the necklace was missing. 🙁 Does anyone else have experience with BOS customer service? Do they usually replace missing items? I have not had good luck with Popsugar.

Reply ButtonReply

A

Did you get your item replaced? My necklace and sunglasses are missing, but I’m wondering how hard it will be to get them replaced?

Reply ButtonReply

Mimi

I am so disappointed in this box 🙁 🙁 I’m a petite person and everything in it is too big on me. If anyone is interested I guess the tortoise sunglasses, kimono and hat are going onto the swap site. I hate one size fits most stuff. Plus I’m probably not going to use the beauty counter blusher so that’s probably going on swap too. At least I can use the sunscreen…and might wear the necklace. So bummed :/

Reply ButtonReply

Mallory

This is a fabulous sub and totally worth the money and I was excited to try everything but sadly only the kimono worked out for me. The hat didn’t fit my huge head and the sunglasses were way too small as well. And the necklace was worth more to swap than to keep. Thank goodness for swaps! It’s okay though, the kimono looks amazing on me! I just wish the hat and the sunglasses were bigger.

Reply ButtonReply

Marie-Claire

I had to chuckle because I liked my box, but wished the hat and sunglasses were SMALLER. I think I will still be able to use the sunglasses, but the hat is sadly way to big to stay put on my head. 🙁 I do love the delicate necklace and blush. The sunscreen will come in handy, and I was surprised how much I liked the kimono. It isn’t something I would have picked for myself, but I am glad it pushed me out of my comfort zone just a little.

Reply ButtonReply

Suz

My box arrived today and the outer box was just fine while the inside box was totally smashed up. The hat was CRUSHED and it looked like someone threw all of the stuff in the box literally. Info card was also missing. On top of that the kimono isn’t a great fit and the necklace (the one item I love) feels like it’s choking me 🙁 ugh!! I finally wrote to them to officially cancel and break this cycle. Sigh.

Reply ButtonReply

Susan

Mine wasn’t terrible, but it was obvious there was no real care taken this time in packaging. Past boxes were so much neater. The tissue paper was a mess and even sticking out if the box. Felt already opened as if I bought it on ebay. My booklet was missing also. I really like reading it and seeing the discount codes. At least all the items were there, but it still felt a bit disappointing.

Reply ButtonReply

Kc

My box was bent to fit the hat but the brim of my hat is all bent up- can’t even put it up for swap. If it was a bigger brim it would’ve been more appropriate for summer but it looks like they struggled getting an average size hat to fit in the box. I’m disappointed the glasses are SO big. Love the kimono though and I use the tie for it as a cute head band.

Reply ButtonReply

Jennifer

Hey Suz, The kimono was the only thing in the box I was really after LOL if you want to swap let me know!! 🙂 I think you can click my name and get me on the swap site..

Reply ButtonReply

Msk1403

I actually signed up for this box based on how amazing the previous box looked, and because I was interested in the kimono. I am also plus sized, but I didn’t think it would be an issue as you give your size when signing up for the box and Helena Quinn kimonos are NOT one size fits all. So I was pretty shocked to read this review and find out that the kimono in the box was. I wonder why they decided to go that route rather than have sizes? The kimono will work fine worn open over an outfit, and I like everything else, so I’m still okay with the box. I just think it is odd to not have sizes.

Reply ButtonReply

Jennifer

Is there a referral perk for Box of Style?? I am thinking about subbing.. All I really want is the Kimono though.. The sunglasses would be awesome but it worries me that they look heavy and huge. On the model it covers her brows and comes down past the bottom of her nose.. I really don’t want glasses that touch my lip! Or are going to touch a lot of surface area on my face, which equates to sweat and displaced makeup.. hey these are real concerns LOL

Oh and I saw a lot of people complaining that it is not one size fits all. There are TONS of plus size kimono’s on the Forever 21 site starting at like $15 bucks 🙂

Reply ButtonReply

Debbie

I LOVE this box! I am not stylish at all but am optimistic that I can pull of the sunglasses etc. For my fellow plus sized gals, the kimono is amazing! It doesn’t fully close at the chest for me but my biggest concern was arm room and there is plenty! I think it looks great completely open and was happy to discover the pockets. Completely in love with it. Very happy to also receive the healthy beautycounter products. Total win for me

Reply ButtonReply

Kimberli

I got my box and it is really a disappointment. The hat is too big, the robe is too small, the sunglasses are really horrible looking and the necklace is too small. (I make jewelry and 16 inches is typically for chokers, standard chain should be 18-19) The cheek/lip color is ok I guess and the sunscreen good to throw in my bag without worry about spillage.

If we are going to receive wearable it would be awesome to either choose a size or have the option to swap it for something usable.

I am just smitten with this box!!! I have been anxiously awaiting my shipping confirmation! I cannot wait! The Box of Style is now my only seasonal box, and if I cancel every other sub that I have (highly doubtful… love, love Boxy and Glossy), this one will stay. She does such a fabulous job curating.

Waste of money!
I have been disappointed with the quality and contents of my three boxes and am now having customer service problems. After changing my address, they are saying that I did it a day too late (which I did not AND there was no mention of this on the website) and that the box was already sent (over a week later). I tried to follow up with FedEx, but the box is actually is going through USPS and there is no tracking number. Box is lost in the ethos, I can’t get a refund, and customer service just says so sorry “xoxo”. (yes they really put xoxo in their signature.) Don’t bother.

Reply ButtonReply

Adele

Add 92 in front of your FedEx tracking number and that gives you the USPS tracking number. That should let you search the post office site. I hope you find your box!

Reply ButtonReply

Jackie

I just got my box. If you have a larger chest, forget about being able to wrap he kimono. Now, I noticed the reviewer had it open with jeans, so I may be able to get away with it that way. No way I can wear it as an actual cover up.

I actually like delicate necklaces but I need an extension as I hate wearing 16″ chains.

I can always use sunscreen in Arizona and a solid is good for a purse. The blush is surprisingly blendable.

I like my wider brim target hat better. The sunglasses are okay.

This box is a miss for me this season. She’s had better. At last nothing’s broken in it.

Reply ButtonReply

heat7918

This is the first RZ box that has tempted me… But I’m worried the kimono will be too big (I’m small up top), the hat might also be too big for my head, and are the sunglasses polarized? I try to wear only polarized especially at that price point. And I wear silver 98% of the time so the necklace is meh.
Ha! I think I talked myself out of it but I really do like the kimono, hat, sunglasses & sunscreen!

Reply ButtonReply

em

Anyone else having any issues with their tracking? I haven’t gotten any updates since 6/1. Just seems odd there isn’t any signs of a movement.

Reply ButtonReply

Emily

Yes, mine wasn’t updated from 6/2 to 6/6, but they finally updated it yesterday. Fedex’s tracking is HORRIBLE.

Reply ButtonReply

Emily

Finally got an update yesterday.. it was in my state. But how it’s saying it’s back in another state.

I don’t understand their logistics or tracking at all. It’s horrible and takes way longer than USPS or UPS.

Oh well, I guess as long as the box gets her intact, I can’t complain too much.
