The first thing you see when you open your box is this little sort of welcome card that says you received the tasting box. On the back of the card there is some more insight about the items they chose for June’s box, a section encouraging you to share your photos/opinions on their social networks, and links to their shop to buy more snacks.
Vermont Smoke & Cure Cracked Pepper Meat Stick, 1 oz. - Value $0.83 (buy a box of 48 for $39.99)
The natural thought process when I saw this meat stick was that it would taste like a Slim Jim. That was not the case. To be clear, I like Slim Jims, I know I know, but I do! That being said, this cracked pepper meat stick from Vermont Smoke & Cure was just okay for me. It wasn’t flavorful enough and the texture was just a little too weird for me. To be honest, though, I don’t like jerky or any other meat sticks, so it’s probably just a personal taste thing.
Angel Mints, 2 pieces - Total Value $0.38 (buy 6 oz./approx. 26 pieces for $5.00)
These were really good! I don’t usually like peppermint flavored candies or gum, but these were those kinds of mints that melt in your mouth. I really enjoyed them!
Lance PB&J Toasty Crackers, 1.29 oz. - Value $0.31 (buy an 8 count box for $2.50)
Alright, I went into trying this with some skepticism because I really like the regular peanut butter flavored cracker sandwiches. I also happen to LOVE a good peanut butter and grape jelly sandwich. Unfortunately, the grape flavor was much more fake tasting (like candy) than I would prefer for a sandwich. It wasn’t bad, I was just disappointed with the flavor of grape they used. That could very well just be me though!
Dalemans Stroopwafel with Caramel, 1.36 oz - Value $0.50 (buy an 8 count box for $3.99)
I have had this before actually and it is really nice. I know the recommended use is to put one of these guys on top of your hot coffee, but you don’t necessarily have to. They taste just fine, not hot. Very caramel-y and a little toasty too!
Flapjacked Strawberry Banana Protein Smoothie with Greek Yogurt, 1.52 oz. - Value $2.25 (buy a box of 12 for $26.99)
I didn’t love this drink mix. First, I am not into protein powder drinks because the chalky texture is not something I can overcome. Although, I will say, this one wasn’t too bad on the texture front. It was the taste that wasn’t the best for me and that is for one reason and one reason only. I do not like fake banana flavor. With this drink, that was all I could taste so it just wasn’t for me. If you like that flavor though, you will love this smoothie!
Beanitos White Bean Crunch Mac n’ Cheese, 1.2 oz. - Value $0.91 (buy a 6 count for $5.49)
I actually tried these little snacks in another box a couple weeks ago, so I already know how good they are without even having to taste them first! These taste very similar to classic cheese puff snacks, but these are made from white beans and are gluten free. Definitely a tasty alternative to a classic snack! Bonus, Love With Food included a coupon for a FREE bag of Beanitos.
RW Garcia MixtBag Tortilla Chips, 1.5 oz. - Value $0.60 (buy a pack of 12, 14 oz. bags for $66.40)
These were your basic blue and “yellow” tortilla chips, nothing too different about them. They were good and classic! Perfect to have with salsa, guacamole, or hummus.
Crown Nut Co. Roasted Almonds, 0.6 oz. - Value $0.80? (buy 30 bags of a different flavor for $24.00)
These are plain roasted almonds, no salt or any flavoring. I liked them! Who hasn’t had plain almonds before?! If you haven’t, you’ll like them. If you have, you’ll like them too!
I am a little confused why there is a coupon for Brazi Bites because typically you get coupons for snacks that are included in the box. Regardless, this is a coupon for $2.00 off a big bag of these guys.
Lastly, there is a card with some info on a current snack sale that Love with Food is having now through July 1st.
Verdict: The approximate value of this box is $6.58 while the cost is $9.99 for the tasting box plus free shipping. Overall with the cost of shipping factored in, this box is right about where it should be in terms of pricing, but for more value, use this link to get your first box for $7.99.
The snacks were pretty good and varied, which is nice! I think I would probably try this one or perhaps one of the other boxes from Love with Food.
