KitNipBox Cat Subscription Box - June 2017

The information card included a list of items in the box. They included values and I have used a lot of these below because KitNipBox toys can be hard to find for sale online.

KitNipBox Cat Subscription Box - June 2017

Think Cat! Fashion Mirror – Listed Value $6

Monkey and Madison both showed some interest in this, but of course Angus played with it the most. Angus plays with everything the most, but he is 1 and the others are 9 (Sneaky), 10 (Madison), 11 (Monkey), and 13 (Mr. Kitty), respectively, so that is not surprising.

Safemade Snow Leopard Pillow – Listed Value $4

Angus was interested in this right away. He actually does seem to have fun with some of the larger kicker/wrestler type toys. (My older cats are not so much interested in them, but as long as they are getting some use, I am happy to have them.)

‘R Squad Runway Mouse – Listed Value $5

Best Pet Glow in the Dark Mouse – Listed Value $5

Smaller toys with feathers? Big wins at my house! Angus licks feathers but most of the others are also interested in feathers. These seem attached well in both cases.

Paws ‘n Purrs Fancy Dress Boa Wand – Listed Value $6

If I got a dangly toy on a stick in every single cat box, I would not be sad. Sneaky loves them, Angus loves them, and even the others will sometimes show interest. Angus kept trying to steal this from me while I was photographing the box contents.

Smartykat Star Strung Compressed Catnip – Listed Value $5

You can see this out of the package in some of the cat photos. It was super difficult to get out of the package, but I guess that maintained the freshness of the catnip. Most of the cats like compressed catnip toys (even Mr. Kitty).

Prime Taste Salmon Dental Treats – Value $2.18

These are crunchy treats and they really smell like fish. They were pretty popular. So popular that Sneaky tried to eat my hand while I was giving her one.

Gratuitous cat photos ahead (lots and lots):

Madison with the compressed catnip toy but also safely about 2/3 of the way under the bed.

Not sure what he was licking here but I hope he enjoyed it.

KitNipBox Cat Subscription Box - June 2017

All right, so this looks like a terrible photo. I wanted to give you all an idea of what it is like to try to give another cat treats when Mr. Kitty is in the room. (Mr. Kitty can’t have most treats.) I was trying to handle the camera and push Mr. Kitty out of the way so most of my photos ended up like this.

KitNipBox Cat Subscription Box - June 2017

Of course Monkey liked the mirror toy. Because he is beautiful.

At this point, I could tell he was getting tired of me…

KitNipBox Cat Subscription Box - June 2017

Sneaky was not amused.

KitNipBox Cat Subscription Box - June 2017

Unfortunately, this is the only photo of Sneaky eating a treat you will get. Because as soon as the camera went off, she bit the c**p out of my finger and I had to go wash my hands and put on a bandaid. Next time I do this, I am wearing a heavy work glove.

KitNipBox Cat Subscription Box - June 2017

She did really like the treats, though.

KitNipBox Cat Subscription Box - June 2017

Mr. Kitty really likes compressed catnip toys. He kind of bites/gums them (he has bad teeth but we can’t do much about it because of his other medical conditions).

KitNipBox Cat Subscription Box - June 2017

Eyes open!

KitNipBox Cat Subscription Box - June 2017

Looking good! (He’d heard a Sneaky/Angus fight outside the bedroom and perked up. He always goes to investigate such things, even though he can’t see much anymore.)

KitNipBox Cat Subscription Box - June 2017

He REALLY wanted these. (They smelled like fish.) The best I could give him was a sniff.

Verdict: I calculated a value of about $33.18 for the June KitNipBox. That is a little above the cost of the box, which is good for a cat subscription. I was super happy to see compressed catnip and so many things with feathers (including a boa on a stick!) and the treats were a hit, as well. This was a good month for us.

What did you think of the June KitNipBox? Do you subscribe to any cat boxes?

  1. Great to see Mr Kitty looking so well!

  2. OMG I am so happy to see Mr. Kitty look up and about and check things out! He’s always so sedate in his pictures and I know he has his health problems, but its always so wonderful to see him looking spry in pics. 🙂

  3. This seemed like a fashion themed box, which to me is awesome! Of course Monkey liked the mirror toy! And the boys seemed to like the boa as much as Sneaky (who clearly thinks she’s plenty fabulous without accessories)! And Mr. Kitty (my not so secret favorite) looks like he’s doing and feeling better lately. I know how hard it is seeing them age and knowing there’s not much you can do to help some things. I lost my almost 15 year old Buddy dog, my baby, even before I had human babies, on May 11. I’m still deeply mourning the loss. I’d been caring for him 24/7 since he developed food allergies in late Feb. His passing was very sudden and unexpected as he’d been living with a brain tumor for who knows how long until he just couldn’t do it any more. I know you cherish every minute with the kitties but maybe give them an extra rub and cookie from their online admirer.

  4. Mr. Kitty’s eyes look like they’re doing a lot better now! I remember photos from several months ago where he had some sort of discharge coming out from the corners.

  5. I always love seeing pics of your cats! 🙂 My three would like this box.
