This month’s theme is “The Sun”, and fitting to kick off the summer. The first card explains why the sun and Vitamin D is important to your sexual health and well-being.

The next card details the items in “The Sun” Queen Bee Box and why each is important and relevant.

Oversized Sunglasses with Floral Case – Total Value $25.00?

Sunnies are an obvious choice when dealing with the bright summer sun. This pinkish plastic oversized pair is not really my type, but I can appreciate the purple lenses and floral case they are paired with. The case can also double as a phone pouch if you need something to protect your #1 from the hot rays while outside.

Wristicuffs Sunstone, Silver and White Agate Bracelet – Value $44.99?

Wristicuffs are handmade bracelets hailing from Alberta, CA and this one was made this especially for Heart + Honey. Sunstone is said to be a joyful stone that brings energy to the wearer. This bracelet isn’t normally my style, but I’ve been getting into stones and crystals lately and could always use more joy and energy in my life, so I’m going to give this a whirl! It is very well made and the stones feel nice and heavy on my wrist.

NW Beauty Works Aloe & Jojoba Infused Lotion in Citrus Mint, 4 oz – Value $7.00?

Mint is one of my favorite scents, as well as herbs, and this lotion has an intoxicating minty yet citrusy scent. It is very reminiscent of one of my favorite drinks, the Mojito. This handmade lotion from New Orleans is infused with aloe + jojoba which I could certainly use after getting sunburned last weekend during my first day at the pool. The lotion itself is not too greasy or watery and feels super fresh on my skin.

Bliss Bella Mini Bunny – Value $49.00

Ok- let’s get down to the star of the Queen Bee Box with this classic shape of “personal massager” (wink wink, nudge nudge). I actually squealed with delight when I opened this box and remembered what would be inside (Heart + Honey does a great job keeping the contents of the box classy and discrete, in case you were curious).

My new friend is packed snuggly in foam.

Here is everything you need!

This bright pink bun-bun is just under 6″ long in total and features super-soft medical grade silicone which is a necessity when dealing with these types of products.

There are four buttons on the back where you can: power on/off, toggle through the TWELVE functions, and increase or decrease the intensity. Some of these devices can be too extreme, or not extreme enough, so the power to control it is fantastic.I actually found the lowest setting to be pretty intense but to each their own.

I love that technology has caught up everywhere and no pesky batteries are needed here. The Bella Mini Bunny comes with its own USB charger that you can plug into your computer to charge up, or use one of the many wall adapters that most of us have floating around our desk drawers from smartphones gone by.

I love that it comes with a little mesh pouch to keep everything in order as well. So tidy.

This is a great personal massage for a beginner, or to add to a more seasoned veteran’s arsenal, so I think everyone who receives this item would be as delighted as I am.

The last item is in this mystery goody bag! What could it be?

Intimate Earth Melt Warming Lubricant 2 x 3ml packs – Total Value $0.59 (Get 120ml for $11.80)

Cinnamomum Zeylanicum Bark extract is what gives this lubricant it’s warming effect. Seconds after rubbing a small amount between my fingers, I could feel the warmth. Since this is a water-based product, it’s not messy at all and washes off easily. I thought there would be a spicy scent, but nothing here, which is a-ok with me.

Verdict: Some may find that Heart + Honey is not the subscription box for them, and that’s ok. I, however, love how they present the items, and in such a positive and natural light. Discovering new products by small makers, together with a new toy is a great way to boost your mood. If I need to go into how this benefits your sexual well being, I will say that each and every one of us is entitled to feel good when we want, and these items can help you figure out exactly how to do so, whether alone, or with a partner. Plus many of the items are suitable for normal everyday use! I am all for self-care and I think this is a marvelous way to guide and achieve an integral part of that. When speaking to the value of this box, the bracelet and personal massager alone cover more than the cost, and I really love the lotion as well. I’m excited to see what future boxes hold!

Are you on board with the Heart + Honey Box?

  1. Great review!! So glad to see something other than makeup, food, and home stuff. I personally think the more Bobs {battery operated boyfriend} the better!!

  2. Fantastic review, Marne! Yours have quickly become my favorite. You write well, and your humor and intelligence come through in every one I’ve read. I especially appreciate your honest, funny, and approachable evaluation of this “adult” box. I’ve come across so few, and I think it’s important for women to know that discreet self-care subscription boxes like this exist. Keep up the great work, ladies of MSA!

    • Heather- You’re getting me all wispy-eyed!
Thank you so much, your kind words mean a lot!!

  3. Wow I didn’t know there were boxes like this. How fun and great! Some of us could use some help bringing a little spark to this part of our lives. I really don’t need the extra items though. I would probably get the box if they didn’t “fill” it with sunglasses and bracelets.

  4. I had no idea that these type of monthly boxes existed…looks very interesting to me ! Thanks for the review 😀

    • There is a whole world out there to explore and this is just the tip of the iceberg, apparently!

  5. Add me to the list of people who is happy to see a sex positive review of a tasteful adult box on this site. You did an awesome job, and I hope to see more reviews like this one. We can only collect so many blue clutches and scented candles before we start wanting a little more excitement 🙂

    • LOL Jen!
      And YES to sex positive!!

  6. Woohooo! Thanks so much for reviewing a box like this. While this isn’t quite the box for me Im always on the lookout for adult/and or sexual health boxes. Keep up the stellar reviews and show me all the options.

    • This type of subscription box doesn’t bother me at all. If it was in my price range right now, I’d definitely give it a whril. Sometimes, I still can’t believe ppl get offended or embarssed to talk about sex. No judgement here, I’m just saying, its a natural part of life.

      • Totally agree! In fact I’m happy to find out about it. I won’t sub now, but it’s definitely on my radar. I have a birthday coming up. The big 4-0 in fact. I might sub to this as a happy birthday to me gift 🙂 Great review Marne!

      • Amazing #treatyoself idea, Sammee! Happy early birthday!

      • I agree, Tiffany. Everyone has their comfort levels. I used to be waaaaay more shy about content like this, but at some point I did a 180 and here we are. Really loving all of this positive support in our awesome community! It gives me hope to drop more stigmas!

    • Happy to help, Haylie! Here’s hoping we can get a wider variety of reviews up. Thanks for your support!

  7. I remember MSA used to do reviews like this, but it’s been a while. This box looks great! My question is, do people really need a new toy every month? At the end of the year, you’d have twelve! That seems excessive, but to each their own. lol This bunny is so adorable. Like others, I wonder on the sound it makes. Is it loud or more quiet? I think the other items might be a bit overpriced, but I do think they make up the other cost of the box (after the toy). This box looks great and I’d love to read more reviews. I’m curious about the variety of toys each month. Great review! 🙂

    • Thanks JacLyn!
I’d say this toy wasn’t as quiet as I would have hoped, but there are always covers to dampen any noise. 😉
I totally hear you about having 12 at the end of the year, and as someone who already has more than a handful, it’s a good thing to consider. Depending on how close you are with your friends, you can always pass one along to someone in need who trusts you, if it’s a style that doesn’t seem like it’d be your taste.
I too am very interested in future months!

  8. Reading the NSFW is what made me open this review, lol! Love it!

    • Hahaha! Good to know! 😉

  9. I wonder if they ever include Lilo products because they’re pretty and amazing. Although that Bliss massager looks pretty nice. I would love to know if it rumbles. I didn’t know that was an option. I get sick of buzzing massagers. A rumbling one sounds ideal. Thanks for a great review on such a fun box. And I agree with the other ladies that it’s fun and refreshing to see a box like this reviewed. We don’t need to feel shame about our sexuality. There’s a warning posted. Just skip the review if you’re not interested because a lot of people ARE interested in these kinds of subscriptions.

    • I love Lilo too! But they are very expensive so I dont know if we’ll see them in subs.

I love the bunny! So cute

    • OMG, a Lelo was my first! <3 Their price point is a little on the high side, so I'm not sure this particular subscription box will feature one, but who knows!
I'd have to say the bliss is more buzzy, so fingers crossed that a rumbly comes along in the future!
Thanks for the kind words! No shame here!!

  10. I’m glad to see this type of box reviewed by MSA. I thought MSA was sticking to the PG route on their boxes. 🙂

Thanks for putting the disclaimer on the top of the review too. I got in late before seeing just NSFW (which I’m also in the pool of people who had no idea what that meant), and I saw the bold explanation of the type of products this box includes. Since I’m at work, I just clicked on the comments instead, and I’ll look at the actual review later tonight. 🙂

    • Awesome to hear that you’re interested in these types of reviews! Sorry for assuming everyone knew what NSFW meant! Hope you enjoy reading it later.

  11. Well done review for sensitive items.

    • Thanks, Starla! I’m so glad you like it!

  12. Thanks for not shying away from speaking your mind in this review! Too many people STILL try to shame others in regards to sexual needs as if it’s still the 1950s, and we don’t need negativity on something natural. Great review!

    • I totally agree. I love seeing this kind of sub reviewed! There are a few adult subs I’m interested in so it’s great to see one reviews so I can decide if I want to subscribe.

There’s shouldn’t be any shame around sexuality. This is not a triple X review. Read the disclaimer and skip if it’s not your kind of box.

I skip all the gentlemen’s boxes and still love other MSA sub reviews.

      • Hey Alex! I’d be interested to hear which boxes you are thinking about to see if we can get any reviewed for ya! If you’re comfortable, feel free to reply here OR shoot me an email! (marne @ mysubscritptionaddiction.com) No pressure!

      • There’s The Nooky Box and The Big Oh! Box as well. 😉

      • Thanks Luna!

      • I just came by to say nooky box too! Unbound and The big oh box. Adult boxes are pricey but worth it for high end toys. I like that some are quarterly too.

      • Awesome, thanks Alex!

    • I whole heartedly agree with you, Heathery! I hope to expand this category of reviews if possible, and maybe get some other people’s takes as well! Thanks for the positive *vibes*!

  13. What a fun box! I look forward to futute reviews for sure!

    • Yay!!

  14. Girl, I feel you on those sunglasses. I typically love oversize & sometimes flamboyant sunglasses, but the ones from this box seem to have a very specific appeal.

I was wondering if you could clarify something about the motor of the massager — does it produce more “buzzy” or “rumbly” vibrations?

    • I didn’t know we had buzzy and rumley options! It’s a whole new world! Hooraayyy. I’ll take all the rumbles 🤗🤗

      • That’s exactly why we need reviews like this — so people know what’s available!

      • Hehehe- Alex!

    • Hi Marion,

I am definitely more of a classic wayfarer type of gal with sunglasses!

As for the massager, I’d have to say this one is more “buzzy” than it is “rumbly”. That being said, it is a little on the louder side of things as well. Great question for me to keep in mind for the next time! Thank you!

      • Thank you for the response!

  15. Great review, Marne! I really appreciate this box being reviewed and I look forward to reading more of your reviews on this box!!

    • Thanks, Kris! I’d love to do reviews for future months!

  16. This looks like a fun box!!

  17. I didn’t even know that box like this existed. Thank you very much for reviewing! Glad to see that they put this in such a positive and healthy light!

    • I know, right? I think they do a great job keeping it positive and classy.

  18. Thanks Marne! I would like to see more reviews on this box.

    • Thanks, Darcie! Hopefully we’ll get more up in the future. I’m game!

  19. I’m happy to see this type of box reviewed. I didn’t know there was a box that wasn’t just ‘adult’.

I’m still giggling thinking about all the places I typically charge my phone…not one of them is discrete. Can you imagine walking about someone’s charging station? Phone, check. Tablet, check. Activity tracker, check. Personal massage device….check?

    • Hahaha funny you bring this up! I happened to charge it in my dining room where I was writing the review, and set it on my cat’s cardboard scratcher on the floor because it wasn’t close enough to another surface. I had to take a picture because it made me giggle.

  20. Magnificently hilarious review.

    • Thanks, Tat!

  21. I clicked on this thinking it was a box that had honey products and perhaps hearts.

Liz … if you are reading this.. adult boxes should be labeled adult in the title. That s just my oppinion though. I rather not click on a adult toy review.

    • It’s labeled NSFW …

      • NSFW should be enough indication.

      • I had no idea what that abbreviation meant.. I am sure I m not the only one.

      • Hi Sarah,

Sorry for any confusion! We put a line at the top of the review in bold hoping that would clarify in case anyone wasn’t familiar with the abbreviation NSFW. But if there’s anything else you feel should be added please let me know.

      • I updated the sentence at the top to reflect that there are adult products in this box. Sorry again about this!

      • What is NSFW, what is stand for? This is first time I see it

      • Not Safe For Work

      • NSFW = Not Safe For Work

    • It did say it’s not suitable for work, which means it attends adult content. They labeled it at the the top before even starting the review.

    • In the 1st paragraph, in bold type it clearly says:

(FYI – not all the contents of the box are suitable for work. Some are adult products. Just a heads up!)
