Gift Izzy - Follow Your Heart - June 2017 Box

This month’s Gift Izzy theme was “Follow Your Heart”. The reverse of the card had a message from jewelry designer Louise Serafini giving details about the heart necklace.

Serafini Heart Necklace – Listed Value $180.00

This Gift Izzy exclusive heart necklace is rose gold plated sterling silver. The necklace is sized so that the heart falls right in the nape of your neck. I love rose gold and have hardly any rose gold jewelry so I am thrilled to get this delicate piece. The heart isn’t attached to the chain, it slides back and forth and will slip off the chain when you remove it so be careful.

A Mindful Morning by David Dillard-Wright – Value $10.10 on Amazon (retail price $14.99)

This paperback book is filled with 200 inspiring quotes and simple exercises to help become a more mindful person. These are like daily meditations and I think they are a wonderful way to spend a few quiet moments doing self-reflection before jumping into the hustle of everyday life.

WEI Lotus Blossom Hydra-Fresh Eye Cream (.5 oz.) – Value $38.40

WEI is a new-to-me brand. The packaging is beautiful. The bottle was wrapped in delicate patterned paper. I found the eye cream to be very light and it had a unique scent that I couldn’t place, perhaps from the lotus blossoms themselves. It can be used both in the morning under makeup and at night. It’s intended for all skin types.

Shower Steamers by Lizush, set of 4 – Value $6.00

These shower steamers are lemongrass scented and are a great way to scent your shower and clear your head. Place them close to your head while showering and breathe in the bright aroma. I put mine on the shower caddy and it worked well. If you prefer you can also place a shower steamer in a bowl of hot water and sit next to it for the same benefits. I thought the steamers were interestingly layered with both peach and pale blue in each mini cube.

Butterfly Bracelet – Value $5.00?

According to legend if you want a wish to come true you capture a butterfly and whisper your wish to it. Since butterflies make no sounds they can tell no one your wish except the Great Spirit. Gift Izzy is including this butterfly charm on a rainbow thread and is granting their wish to Seth Maxwell, CEO of Thirst Project has raised over 8 million dollars to provide safe, clean water. A portion of the proceeds from the June/July Gift Izzy box will be donated to Thirst Project. What a worthwhile cause and lovely gesture.

Verdict: This month’s hero item is one of the best yet from Gift Izzy. The necklace is dainty, beautiful and very much my style. I was surprised to see another book this month, as that is not typically what Gift Izzy sends, but I am enjoying it nonetheless. I’m also pleased with both beauty items this month. I was so happy to read the card with the butterfly bracelet and see that Gift Izzy is supporting such a fabulous cause. I miss the edible treats that Gift Izzy used to include in their boxes and I hope they return to that again. All in all this box was a great success for me and the value was over $239 which is what I’ve come to expect from this subscription and is well over the cost of the box ($69 with free US shipping).

  1. I am so NOT pleased with the skin care item I received in my box .. Advanced Anti-Aging Therapy Retinol Eye Cream exclusively at CVS/pharmacy. I think an “Exclusively at CVS” item in a luxury box, especially a Gift Izzy box is not acceptable 🙁

  2. I love the book and the butterfly bracelet. The RV on the necklace is up there but it looks like it’s designer. This is a lovely box. Very pretty and charming.

  3. $180 for that necklace? You can get the exact necklace in silver from Tiffany & Co for $125. The mark up that these boxes do is so ridiculous sometimes.

    • I agree. Especially the “luxury” boxes.

    • I was just thinking this! You could get a 10k-14k solid rose gold necklace like this for the same price at Kmart, QVC, HSN, Macy’s (with the right coupons) etc.

  4. Jessica – great review of a wonderful box! I wasn’t quite sure what you meant, though, about getting another book. As far as I know, the only other “book” in their boxes was a blank journal (the ‘there are no Mondays in paradise’ one) included in the last box. But perhaps I missed something. Also, as someone with a number of food allergies, I’m glad there hasn’t been food in the boxes I’ve received. But to each their own!

I have to say, Gift Izzy consistently knocks it out if the park. They really have found the sweet spot for a box – in terms of curation, size, quality, and cost. Barring any major changes in the sub, I think I’m a lifer with this one. Louise Serafini makes the most exquisite jewelry and I definitely hope they keep including her pieces!!

Just FYI – I received a different brand eye cream – it was Purlisse.

    • Hi!
I was referring to the book of yoga poses from the April box.
Yes, if I had food allergies I would feel the same was as you!
I agree they do consistently knock it out of the park. Love this subscription!
Thanks for reading the review and taking the time to comment.
      Best, Jessica

    • I was wondering why the RV of the necklace is so high. It must be a designer brand. I’ll have to check out Louise Seragini.

  5. Ohhh… I LOVE that necklace!!! 😉

  6. What a lovely box!

    • I agree!
