This promo info came with the box. I love the idea of a grocery subscription, especially for things I have to get every month anyway!

Peas Please Sea Salt Baked Pea Snacks by Peeled Snacks, 3.3 oz – Value $2.99 (Buy a pack of 12 for $35.88 on Amazon)

My favorite thing about these snacks is that they’re baked, rather than fried, which means they’re a slightly healthier alternative to greasy chips.

Check out what's inside the Amazon Children's Snack Box!

They also have five grams of protein and four grams of fiber per serving (there are about 3.3 servings in this one bag)! Most mainstream crunchy snacks can’t say that!

What you’re probably wondering is whether they actually taste like peas or not. I’ll say that there’s a “green” aftertaste to them, much like there is with other veggie snacks. But otherwise, they’re a bit like a sturdier corn puff with a satisfying dose of saltiness. The taste is just kind of neutral, apart from the sea salt. If you didn’t tell your picky eater that these involved peas, I bet they’d much their way through a handful, no questions asked!

Quaker Breakfast Squares in Strawberry, 2.11 oz – Value $0.63 (Buy 4 boxes of 5 squares each for $12.59 on Amazon)

This bar was so tasty! I could see it making a great breakfast on the go—as an individually wrapped snack, it’s easy to tote in a bag, backpack, or in the car.

This square has strawberry filling, but they do make other flavors (including a “Baked Apple Cinnamon” version that sounds amazing). According to the package, it has no artificial flavors nor high fructose corn syrup. It does, however, still have 13 grams of sugar (including brown sugar and sugar that makes up some of the other ingredients). I do like that the bulk of this bar is made from oats, which are great for providing energy and fiber.

The bar is almost like a beefier oatmeal cookie. I like that it’s soft, so it’s easy to tear off little bites. The strawberry filling wasn’t as fruity flavored as I thought it might be (it didn’t quite have the zip that I like in strawberry jelly), but it was still a tasty granola bar to get the day started or recharge with before afternoon activities.

Annie’s Organic Bunny Fruit Snacks in Berry Patch, 0.8 oz – Value $0.62 (Buy a 24-pack variety box for $14.92 on Amazon)

I feel like the fruit snacks I grew up with were basically candy. Nowadays, kids have awesome snacks like these organic, naturally flavored, bite-sized treats to enjoy!

Check out what's inside the Amazon Children's Snack Box!

These snacks have no artificial flavors, synthetic colors, or preservatives (and yet they still last on the shelf forever). These are made with cane sugar, too, so no high fructose corn syrup to be found!

And yes, they actually are shaped like bunnies. How cute! The assorted flavors are juicy, though not overly, candy sweet, and they melt in your mouth on the first bite.

Goldfish Baked Snack Crackers in Cheddar, 1.5 oz – Value $0.83 (Buy a 24 pack for $19.95 on Amazon)

I. love. Goldfish crackers. There were always Goldfish around when I was growing up, either as snacks after softball games or in a big bowl at parties, or packed in little baggies inside lunch boxes.

I don’t know that Goldfish can boost the healthfulness or nutrition that some of these other snacks can, but they sure make for a fun, satisfying snack to munch on that’s almost always a crowd-pleaser.

I do like the idea that these come packaged in a smaller bag. (You can nab a big pack of these smaller individual packs on Amazon.) It makes them easier to pack in lunches or pass out to hungry hands.

Teddy Soft Bakes, Chocolate Filling, 1.06 oz – Value $0.50 (Buy a 12 pack for $5.96 on Amazon)

This snack definitely falls more solidly on the “treat” end of the spectrum. I was a big fan of Teddy Grahams growing up, and I was curious to try this “soft bake” take on the classic.

This little guy, surprisingly, has less sugar than the oatmeal bar from earlier, but it doesn’t seem to have nearly the nutrition (which is… not as surprising).

I’m sure kids would have a blast with this bear-shaped treat, but it really was a miss for me. It’s essentially a little snack cake, but the cake is spongy and lackluster, and the cream filling it boasts is sort of a sparsely spread out, kind of unexciting cream. You can see from above that the cream barely shows up when you break the bar in half (it’s just a smidge more concentrated in the head and the body). It’s not the worst, but I really didn’t like it as much as I expected, given that it was made by Teddy Grahams, the masters of addictively sweet, tasty treats.

Crispy Green’s Crispy Fruit in Apple, 0.36 oz – Value $1.24 (Buy a 12 pack for $14.82 on Amazon)

This snack brings us back to the health end of the spectrum! This packet contains a heaping handful of deliciously simple apple crisps made with literally nothing but freeze-dried apples!

Check out what's inside the Amazon Children's Snack Box!

I love snacks that taste good and are good for you. This packet contains about 1/2 cup of real apple that’s been freeze-dried, a process that zaps the water out of the fruit, leaving a crunchy, light, melt-in-your-mouth snack that’s surprisingly satisfying to munch on.

These crisps have enough sweetness and bite to them that they satisfied my cravings for sugar and crunchiness all at once. They have the consistency of a rice snack, almost, with their light consistency. What a great (gluten-free and vegan!) snack to discover!

Mott’s Fruity Roll in Strawberry, 0.5 oz – Value $0.35 (Buy 14 boxes of 10 each for $49.24 on Amazon)

This is another treat that I remember always being more like candy than a great snack. This version of a classic fruit roll isn’t made with real fruit, mind you, though it features no colors from artificial sources nor artificial flavors.

Check out what's inside the Amazon Children's Snack Box!

The first ingredient is corn syrup, which raised my eyebrow a bit. (Maybe this is still more of a treat!)

The sheet of fruit snack was almost impossibly hard to peel off of the plastic sheet. I wonder how smaller fingers would do with it! The flavor is a milder fruit flavor than I expected, but it is much more pear or apple-ish than strawberry.

Nestle Pure Life Kid Designed Edition, 8 oz – Value $0.28 (Buy a 24 pack for $6.72 on Amazon)

It’s hard to knock water, especially in the midst of summer! This little bottle is the perfect size for small hands, too! I’m always an advocate for just carrying water in a reusable container, but if you’re on the move, or need to supply drinks at a party or carpool this is probably a great choice!

Sir Bananas Monkey Mate, 8 fl oz – Value $1.70 (Buy a 12 pack for $20.40 on Amazon)

How cute! I grew up loving chocolate milk (and let’s face it, I still drink it all the time), and I love the twist of adding banana to the mix!

Check out what's inside the Amazon Children's Snack Box!

This little milk is enriched with all kinds of good vitamins, is gluten-free, and is made with milk from cows not treated with growth hormones. The banana mixed with the chocolate is really tasty and different. And I love that it’s packaged like a juice box, with its own extendable straw. This is perfect for lunches and snacking on the road (maybe during a summer vacation)!

Plum Organics Apple and Banana Smoothie, 3.17 oz – Value $1.38 (Buy 6 packs of 4 for $33.16 on Amazon)

These little pouches seem perfect for picky eaters. They’re small enough to be squeezed by little hands, and pretty much mess free thanks to the cleverly designed pouch.

The fruit in these does kick the sugar content up a bit, but I love that they’re a packed with “secret” ingredients like dates and butternut squash, too! What an awesome way to get natural nourishment into your kiddo. They really do taste like a smoothie, too! The consistency is soft, creamy, and just a bit sweet, and it tastes awesome fresh out of the fridge (though you can keep them in your pantry just fine).

Verdict: This box was such a fun way to discover all different kinds of kid-friendly snacks that I have and haven’t heard of before. I got about $11.00 worth of value from the items inside, which is twice the cost of the box. Of course, that cost is returned to you as a credit to use on select items, so it feels like a real winner to me. I bet this would be an awesome box to explore with your child by your side, too. You could taste-test things together and order more of your favorites. It seems like a great, cost-effective way to try before you buy.

Have you or your little one tried any of the snacks from the Amazon Children’s Snack Sample Box? What did you think?

  1. I got this box for my eight year old daughter, and she loved it. She enjoyed trying all the different things included. She loved having a box all her own. It was such a great deal too. I hope they do more kids boxes like this in the future.

    • That’s awesome to hear! I can imagine it’s a lot of fun for a kiddo to play taste-tester for so many cool snacks. Thanks so much for sharing your experience!

  2. Usually Prime Pantry has a category of items that, if you buy 5, you get a free shipping credit. Usually I can find something in there that will make the concept be more appealing.

  3. Loved the box, but I’m still trying to figure out how to use the credit. Everything I’m interested in (that the credit will work towards) is part of Amazon’s PrimePantry, which I don’t really want to do. So I’m still trying to figure that one out.

    • I know! I can’t find anything either that is not Prime Pantry, which I don’t want to do at this time. I am fine without the credit back though, still enjoyed the snacks at that price 🙂 Please let me know if you figure out another way to use the credit without doing the Pantry thing!

      • Not exactly a way out, but might help: if you order anything from Amazon and opt for “no hurry shipping”, you will receive a $5 dollar credit toward the purchase of a Pantry Box. This will cover almost all the shipping costs for ordering snacks.

        • The credit I’m currently seeing is for Prime Now, a different grocery service.

    • Did you go through a link from e-mail or via your amazon messages? I’ve found that to be way easier – let me know if you need some help!

  4. I loved this box so much. So many great things in it!
