Bulu Box seems to be tinkering with their information cards lately. This month, the Bulu Box app is highlighted. There was also some product literature.
Beanitos White Bean Chips in Hint of Lime (1.2 oz) – Value $0.75 (buy 24-pack for $17.94)
I’ve seen these in a whole lot of subscription boxes but they are one of my favorite flavors of Beanitos – they don’t even need dip. This is one of the vegan flavors of Beanitos and it has a little fiber and protein, too.
Salonpas Pain Relieving Patches (2-count) – Value $0.50
I have seen TV commercials for these for years but never had one to try out before. I don’t have any pain right now (these work on pretty much everything but headaches, according to the product literature attached to them) but will save these for the next time I am sore after exercise. They have similar ingredients to products like BenGay (menthol, methyl salicylate, etc.) but without all the mess.
Stress Killer in Soothing Berry (2 servings) – Total Value $3.39
This has a lot of vitamins in it, so be cautious if you’re taking a multivitamin as well. The main ingredient here for calming is magnesium, which is similar to Natural Calm, a product that made the rounds of subscription boxes last year. Magnesium may also help you get to sleep at night and may help regulate blood pressure. I can’t say I’ve seen any effects yet, but the flavor is pleasant, at least (though it does have a stevia aftertaste).
Genial Day Pantiliner – Value $0.42 (buy a box of 24 for $9.99)
These are made with tourmaline, a mineral that is supposed to help reduce odor and bacteria growth. I will save this for later as it is the wrong time of the month for me to evaluate these at this time. These are advertised as being good for people with sensitive skin and allergies.
Genial Day Pad – Value $0.60 (buy a box of 10 for $5.99)
This is a pad from the same company that makes the pantiliners that are also shown. If you are interested, it may be best for you to get a subscription (they offer it on their site; click the name above for the pad to be taken there), which is similar to Honest Company in that you pay for a bundle and get to choose your products.
Vitanova Nutraceuticals Women’s Multivitamin (4 tablets) – Value $3.13 (buy a bottle of 60 tablets for $46.95)
They exclude so many allergens (gluten, dairy, eggs, etc.) from these and then put fish oil in them. Sigh. I know fish oil is a cheap source of omega 3 fatty acids, and those are definitely good for you, but I am unable to try them since fish oil is obviously not vegetarian. They are also kind of ppriceyfor vitamins although I suppose if you are already taking fish oil, too, it saves you from having to buy two types of pills.
Verdict: I calculated a value of $8.79 for the May Bulu Box. That is above the price I paid since I got this with a $5 for life promo deal, but is below the $10 monthly box cost. The mix of items was a little odd this month, but you never really know what you are going to get with this subscription. It is certainly not the weirdest Bulu Box I’ve ever received. I did like the chips and some of the items will be useful in the future (Salonpas, pads, etc.).
I’d strongly recommend using ourMYSUB599 coupon code when you subscribe and choosing either the regular or the weight loss box, but not both, since there is a lot of product repetition between the two. Also, don’t forget to review your items for points to spend on merchandise in the Bulu Box shop.
