BoxyCharm May 2017 – FULL SPOILERS!

I was REALLY dreading this box, thinking I would only like the Temptu product. But I received mine yesterday and I was actually surprised that for me it was a slam dunk!

I was lucky enough to receive the powder contour palette and it’s so gorgeous. I have really fair skin but the shades look very natural on my skin when blended with the paddle brush – which is so soft and easy to use! I probably won’t use the highlights from the palette but that’s ok – it’s not like I paid $40 for the palette.

And finally I was most surprised by the brow palette! The quality is really nice and such a neat idea convert between powder and pomade.

Was toying with the idea of cancelling but I probably never will – I’ve only had one box disappoint me (last month) but even then the he $20one product I liked, the Ofra highlight, made the $21 price worth it.

i am very disappointed in this box. The contour shades won’t even show up on me since I am about an MAC NC44; It’s not very WOC friendly. I’ll probably end up giving it away to one of my readers since I do have a beauty blog or giving it to a friend. I would love to see more skin and hair care items instead of just all makeup.

I just recieved my email early this morning letting me know that my boxy charm is on its way. If I recieve the cream contour kit I will be swapping or selling. Im a beginner with contouring and have tried cream products and have failed miserably, also i have combination oily skin and cream seemed to make me look worse. Also from the pictures online the cream seemed too dark for my complexion. I have tons of matte liquid lipsticks brand new to swap, along with bronzers, blush, and samples from other sub boxes. Plus face masks and the measurable difference pro concealer pallete from last month boxycharm.

If anyone gets the IBY highlight & Contour & doesn’t want it I would be more than happy to buy it or trade. I have tons of liquid matte lipsticks that are brand new.

Not looking forward to this one. The only interesting item is the paddle brush. I still haven’t received the promised replacement March box. I’ll give BC one more month and if it doesn’t get better its good bye to them.

Ive been with BoxyCharm for about 3+years. Last year we got some many eyeshadow palettes. One every month. Now don’t get me wrong I love eyeshadow but we got really similar shades. Many charmers complained. They definitely shifted their focus this year. It’s about time to throw in some eyeshadow or maybe even a blush palette. I have highlighters like crazy now. I already owned a ton and thanks to BoxyCharm I’m on overload. I totally get new subscribers being annoyed about not getting eyeshadow palettes like we did last year. They need to just mix it up more to make it fair for all subscribers.

For me, this is the weakest box since I started subbing in August 2016. Of course, I’m not ready to write BC off, but I think a lip color would have saved this box from the dreariness people are finding. I think this is the first one without a lip color. Even a nail polish or something that smells great. I know the brow brush is sold separately so it’s counted as a separate item from the browgal powder, but lots of people seem to feel cheated. I’ve always liked how Boxy mixes it up and delivers at least one product that just makes you smile…but they missed this time. Better luck next month I guess. Until then, I’ll give the paddle brush a go as I continue to try to use my BrowGal from Beautycon that I don’t love. Not their fault on that one.

The only thing I’m looking forward to this month is the brush. The rest is a big disappointment. And I don’t even know which palette I would rather get stuck with, the cream or the powder. They both stink. I’ve been a subscriber for a year and this by far the worst box. I didn’t want to cancel though because so many people are wait listed, I would be afraid of missing Junes box and what if that one is actually good? FOMO.

I’m on the waitlist – and I hope I remain on it… I don’t want this box at all.

Yuck! Brows, hi liters and contour. The most boring of all makeup In my opinion. I realize there are only so many categories to pick from but yuck! This whole box is going up for swap.

This is the 1st box in a while without ANY variations and it’s almost a repeat of Aprils box.

I’m glad the spoilers came earlier this month and I could unsub before the month started.
I feel like if Boxycharm had enough inventory of variated products (Makeup Eraser, face masks, konjac sponges, moisturizers) from last year they would have been great additions to this years boxes. I had a pretty decent year-long sub to BC and hope the boxes get better for all of you new subscribers.

Next month we’ll get a mascara, and they’ll count the wand as a separate item.

This box pretty much sucks for me, I am hoping June is much better

I hate this box, just hate it. To me, I haven’t had what I call a great box since last fall when there was yummy mummy Butter London nail polish, whatever month that was. I’m giving one more month and if I’m still let down, I’m out. There are to many choices now days to be this disappointed.
As with everything in life, there will be those who are jazzed for this box, I’m not one of them…..booooo!!!

I’ll probably be selling this one. I have enough highlighters to last me for years. I have a whole set of those brushes. Oh well. Hopefully the next one will be more up my alley.

This will be the worst Boxycharm box I’ve received in the 2.5 years I’ve subscribed. What a waste of money. Not one thing here I need or will use. I agree with everyone else, where’s the color? Or skincare? And can we please stop with the highlighters?!?!? I mean, is there a letter I can write to someone? Not just Boxy, but every beauty sub box and basically makeup brand on Earth? I’m sooooo over it. No. More. Highlight. I could highlight the faces of every man, woman and child in a small country with the amount of highlight I’ve gotten from these boxes.

I’m still wishing the Temptu had been the primer. I’ve had it before and loved it. 🙂

I’m looking forward to this box, but I sure hope I can get the powder option.

Dissapointed more And more every month

Definitely swapping my whole box! Usually I can at least find one thing in the box to make it worthwhile but not this month. I don’t contour and the highlighter has been overdone to the max. So bummed about this month.

This will be my first Boxycharm box and I’m already disappointed. This will be my THIRD Browgal product. Smh. Do they give out super cheap deals to sub boxes or what? I was impressed by what the “Look Fantastic” sub box has to offer and it’s only $18 a month–$16 w longer subs and you don’t have to pay it all up front. I’m canceling Boxy and trying Look Fantastic.

Two highlights in one box? 😡This is the worst curated box I’ve ever seen from boxy. The fact that we’ve had similar products the last two boxes then now another devoted to highlighting. The brow looks ok but counting the brush as an item is a stretch. I hope the paddle brush is nice. Maybe those will redeem the box for me but it is doubtful.

The brow palette is DARK! I am blonde – can’t use it, what a waste. More and more of these boxes are too complexion specific and unusable. Disappointing as I used to love Boxycharm.
