Teri Miyahira Beauty Subscription Box Review – April 2017

Teri Miyahira Beauty Box is a new natural and vegan beauty subscription box! Each month you’ll receive at least 2 full-size makeup items from Teri Miyahira’s own line made for this subscription. Everything in this box is vegan, natural, and cruelty-free.

My Subscription Addiction pays for this subscription. (Check out the review process post to learn more about how we review boxes).

The Subscription Box: Teri Miyahira Beauty (Waitlist Mode)

The Cost: $39 a month

The Products: Every monthly collection contains at least 2 x full-sized makeup items, and 1-2 medium sized skincare/bath/body items (no sample sizes here, ever!). The medium-sized products are big enough to last multiple uses so you can make sure the formulations are effective for you, and then you can purchase full-sizes of your favorites.

Now, onto the items!

Teri Miyahira “Brilliant” Illuminating Duo – Retail Value $58

As I’ve come to expect from Teri Miyahira, the pigment and shimmer in these highlighter shades are amazing.

The colors didn’t have the same silky feel as some of her other pressed powders but still worked well. And the bottom of the compact has an extra spot for a brush or sponge:

Teri Miyahira “Mindful” Crushed Color Dust – Retail Value $24

I believe this is the first non-pressed powder item in the Teri Miyahira line! (In the card she mentions they are working on a rollerball application version which has me intrigued!)

The pigment again is great with this powder. I’d describe the shade as a plum gray with a matte finish. It’s buildable, too, so you can wear it for every day or smokey eye looks.

Here it is swatched above the highlighters:

And this box also included two makeup brushes:

Teri Miyahira Flat Eyeliner Brush 14 – Value $22

This brush is densely packed with a flat cut to make it perfect for applying eyeliners. (It also works well for turning any eyeshadow into an eyeliner for a different look!)

Teri Miyahira Eye Detail Brush 13 – Value $24

This brush is made for precision eyeshadow placement on the lid and inner corner of the eye.

Verdict: This box has a retail value of about $126. These are premium makeup prices, but I am very impressed with the formulas, and I could see these products retailing for the prices listed. If you are looking for a high-quality natural and/or vegan makeup line, I recommend this subscription!

The only critique I would make is that I wish this subscription allowed for some customization – with the cost, it would be a great way to help minimize the risk of getting makeup products that don’t work for your skin tone.

  1. In one of her first boxes, Teri Miyahira included two rollerball products – a blush and a highlighter (they were in glass cylinders too!). As expected, they applied beautifully, and the pigment was perfect, especially for the blush – not too bold, but not too subtle. Even though I no longer subscribe to this box (I wish she would venture into skin, hair, or body care!), I’m looking forward to seeing her new rollerball makeup products.
