Now, onto the items!

Julep-april-2017-0011

Julep usually includes a bonus item like candy in every box. But, this month, it's a full-size nail polish!

Julep Nail Polish in Sara - Retail Value $14

Julep-april-2017-0014

This is a blue creme that gives full coverage in one coat! (Swatched in lower photo.)

Julep-april-2017-0013

And FYI - the caps of Julep nail polishes are removable so you can swatch the lid!

Julep Nail Polish in Josie - Value $14

This is the nail polish I picked for April. It's an apricot orange creme, with a high shine finish.

Julep-april-2017-0016

I always gravitate to subtle pinks and beiges in my nail polish, so I tried to deviate a little this month, and go for a pastel but bold color.

I'm happy with my choice - it feels fresh and bright for spring. It took two coats for full coverage. Here it is one with the Sara polish as well:

Julep Feels Like Velvet Full-Coverage Eyeshadow Duo in Rose & Vacay - Value $20

Julep-april-2017-0018

This is the featured beauty item this month, and I'm so glad I picked it! It's hands down one of my favorite Julep beauty items to date.

Julep-april-2017-0019

I went with the matte shade duo. I love shimmery eyeshadows, but mattes are much more wearable for me. And these two colors are perfect for everyday looks:

And the "Feels Like Velvet" name is true! These powders feel so lovely! They have excellent pigment, too.

Julep-april-2017-0021

Here are both shades swatched:

Julep Eyeshadow Brush - Value $18

Julep-april-2017-0023

This soft bristle brush is perfect for blending eyeshadows. It works for both powders and cremes.

Julep-april-2017-0024

Plus the metal base makes these brushes look extra luxe!

Julep-april-2017-0006

And this box also included a coupon for 30% your next purchase.

Verdict: I'm so impressed with the value of the box this month! 2 polishes, an eyeshadow duo, and an eyeshadow brush for $24.99 is great. (Even better if you do the 3-months for $19.99 deal).

I haven’t subbed in a while but I buy in bulk when there’s a good sale. I LOVE their gel eyeliners. I have two of the eyeshadow duos and they’re very pigmented (almost too much for my fair skin!) but I also get a lot of fallout from them under my eyes. The julep nail file is also my favorite! 🙂

I unsubbed a few months ago, but think I’m ready to go back. They have the best shimmer polishes. And I’m addicted to the Holographic and Matte polishes.

I got 2 eyeshadow dous and a polish this month (not all for me) and we got another polish Sara) and the eyeshadow brush!

I get these for my Grandma(lots of stressful stuff going on for her atm, so a package is her light), that she was only getting one thing(we were splitting 3 way for once) and then she gets the brush! I wanted it at first but apparently “it’s too long for a beginner”! lol

Gotta love Julep! She thought we had the wrong box at first, and I figured they made a mistake(although brush likely was). Perfect timing 😀
Will subscribe for a long time!! <3

I haven’t tried the Feels Like Velvet duos yet but I love their beauty and skin products. Their colored balms and gel eyeliners are my favorites. Everything looks great on you!

So I subbed and got in on the FREEFALL promotion for 12 free polishes. They are NOT the colors shown on the promotion. I got a bunch of super dark blues and greens and oranges that I will never wear – no pinks or reds at all. It’s basically a bunch of whatever their overstocks are. I feel completely duped! Not a good start to this sub.

Jess

I didn’t get all the colors listed in promo but was happy with every thing I got. Some of the darker colors I will wait til fall.

BTW, I just threw them all on swap – offering at half RV.

Oh! I recently re-subscribed to Julep, and completely forgot the bonus candy they used to throw in, so when I got Eliza as a bonus polish, I just thought they made a mistake in my favor. haha! But, this was my 2nd box in my 3-month subscription, and I don’t recall getting a bonus item in the 1st box. I’m going to have to look at last month’s review to see what I missed out on. 🙂

I got 2 extra polishes as well – Eliza and Rose.

One of the eyeliners that I ordered as an add-on arrived damaged – the tip fell off. When I tried to advance the tube, nothing happened. Surely that small amount of product isn’t all there is? Going to have to contact Julep, I guess.

Overall, though, I am extremely pleased with the quality of Julep’s products, and I love this subscription!

You have to sharpen it with a sharpener! It’s a pencil, not a tube that can be twisted.

Reply ButtonReply

Iinda

No, they are great and filled to the end i think (though ive never reached that point) but yours may have dried out. This happened to some i gave my mom bc she didnt take care of them and lost the tops (smh). They are the best eyeliners ive ever had. In fact (im 30 yo) and didnt bother with eyeliners until i found these. (Now i like marc jacobs too…and more brands are doing gel…but the stargazer set is what sold me)

Tracey

I got a white extra polish. Its good for French manicures and it was free, so I’m happy.

I got nail polish (Dylan – crème pink) eye shadow duo (iced chai shimmer and graphite matte) and an eyeliner. I love their eyeliners so I tried a bit of a bold colour in the ultraviolet and its gorgeous. I can’t wait to try it. 🙂

I love that I get to pick from nail polish, skincare and makeup for this box depending on my mood (or other sub boxes).

Got 2 extra polishes – Eliza and Rose – one for the add-ons, and one for the extras that I ordered, I guess.

Ordered some of their “When Pencil Met Gel” eyeliners – they are lovely, but one of them arrived with the tip damaged, and it doesn’t appear as if these particular eyeliners rotate up; the tip is all of the product that there is….

Linda

It might have dried out. Youll find out once you try to sharpen it. It should be melty smooth, not hard r clumpy. My mom ruined a bunch by leaving the cap off …smh who does that 😑
These are the best 😎 and if yours is ruined you should reach out to see if they can help so you dont miss out on getting to know their awesome products… love these 😍

Jeannette

Their eyeliners need to be sharpened, they don’t advance on their own.

Reply ButtonReply

Lindsay

That eyeshadow looks so nice! Wish I would have picked it…back to julep with a coupon I go….

Not sure which free one I got as a bonus, because I also got a free one for having three add ons.

My extra two were – Eliza (blue with high color shimmer) and Bianca (sheer dark grey base with traditional iridescent glitter).

Both worked well with the polishes I chose for my box itself, really happy with them.

I just can’t get the lids to come off the caps of my polishes! What’s the secret?

Reply ButtonReply

Lin

Pull extra hard. I have 1 ive never been able to take off.
Is eliza the holo? How do you make it stay on your nail? Mine comes off sooo fast (minutes to hrs, while other jules last 3+ days) 😣 but its my favorite color

Reply ButtonReply

L

Got it! Thank you! I wondered how we were supposed to swatch them all this time!

Yes, I think that is Eliza. It is really beautiful. If a polish chips a lot in a particular area I tend to put a width wise coat on first before I make my final coat from cuticle to tip of nail like normal. Maybe that would work for you and this polish? I know with Ellis (which is also holo) I needed that, or like you said it would be gone in minutes of drying.

Jeannette C

They are tricky little buggers sometimes! If you wiggle back and forth (front to back) while pulling they come off a bit easier. I’ve gotten all the ones off that have a swatch sticker, but ones that don’t like the special edition or ones with metallic lids don’t seem to come off at all and I tried everything!!

Reply ButtonReply

L

Thank you!

Svetlana7e

This is a total revelation to me! I was always wondering, how the heck you so the swatch on the top of the lid/cap if brush attached to cap.

Jeannette

My extra polish was white. Kind of disappointing but it was free! So I’ll trade it down the road.

Lin

You can add a couple of drops of your favorite dark fall color to make a new spring pastel! This is what i always do with my white dupes😎

Reply ButtonReply

Julia

You are a genius!

Jeannette

Thank you so much…i never even thought about that. Now I’m so excited to see what i can make!!

Svetlana7e

I did not get extra polish :(.

Reply ButtonReply

Svetlana7e

I have to sincerely apologize. I went home and checked my box again, and YES, I DID received extra polish for box and another extra polish for getting 3 adds on. Julep is very generous and good company.

Reply ButtonReply

Sara

They are a good company! I’ve always found them to be very helpful & generous, with excellent customer service.

Liz Cadman

Yay! So glad to hear the bonus polish was there! 🙂

Liz Cadman

Oh no! Did you get something else? Or no bonus item at all?

Reply ButtonReply

Svetlana7e

I got bonus for my 3 adds on, but no bonus for my box 🙁
