Ugh super disappointed with this months bag. I’m only three months in with ipsy and I seem to be getting the same color eyeshadow and a eyeliner in EVERY bag.
I was *hoping* i’d get the colourpop since Ive always gotten a eyeliner no luck.. I’m super super bummed I didn’t get the lisa frank brush either. I’m sad 🙁

This is my second month with Ipsy, first month was a little blah. I loved the bag though because it matched my bathroom colors and looks good sitting on my counter! This one might make a cute clutch if it’s big enough.
I’m kind of surprised I think my bag has a couple of things that no one else seems to have, I thought everyone got a variation of the same few things:
* MintPear Vitamin C Serum (it’s half the size that retails for $99, wow!)
* Elizabeth Mott Eyeshadow (looks too small to be useful as a highlighter)
* EM Cosmetics Illustrative Eyeliner Brush Tip (can’t find any info about this anywhere)
* touch in SOL No Poreblem! Primer (two small to be practical)
*Lisa Frank Brush (requested, am so thrilled, idc if it’s worth $4 I want it!)

I love trying new stuff. Mainly stuff I wouldn’t buy myself which is why I love this bag.
But getting a shimmery copper eye shadow 2 months in a row is a little much. You think they would switch it up a little. I mean I like the color but there is only so much you need. Maybe I need to start saying I don’t like the color even though I do so I can get something new. Thoughts?

Won’t work. I emailed them because I have gotten 4 coppery eyeshadows in a row and I’ve consistently rated them low and said I hated the color. I have purples selected in my chart. This is what they sent to me: Thanks for writing. I’m so sorry to hear you’re disappointed!

Very disappointed to see I didn’t get the Lisa Frank brush. Okay, I suppose I’m partly to blame by also checking those two eyeliner colors, but the reason I did that was because I saw two different black eyeliners in the guaranteed samples, and I thought it’d be the easiest way to ensure I didn’t get either black liner. But I’ll probably buy the brush since it is pretty cheap.
And I’m also getting tired of them only sending neutral eyeshadow colors. I’ve already got a ton of browns and neutral pinks, and I want other colors!

Scroll down in the comments on this post to find the link to a tutorial on Imgur detailing how to do it. I do not currently have a dev tools add-on installed (which is surprising to anyone who knows me), and I can verify it works without needing an add-on in Firefox.

I plan on putting together a gift basket for my pregnant friend with items in it for a pampering movie night. In the gift basket I’m going to put a couple movies, popcorn, candy, comfy pajamas, slipper socks and a fuzzy blanket. Inside the movie ticket makeup bag I thought it would be cute to put a sheet mask/clay mask, hair conditioning treatment, lotion, maybe a face serum with a couple nail polishes and file/ nail manicure set.

Hey Annette not sure if you know this or not but you can email ipsycare or send them a DM on Twitter and request to opt out of up to 3 products either for a few months or for the duration of your subscription so if blush and hair products is something you can’t use, then email them regarding ipsymatch and tell them you’d like to opt out of those items from now on. I hope that helps you!

I’m confused why everyone is upset about the ponds. I could be wrong but it looks like a good size product and it’s a cleanser which looks bigger than a lot of cleansers we’ve received.Its a product I’ve never tried and who says it can’t be a great one.

I love this bag!!
I ended up not liking the pink march one much but that was my 1st ipsy bag so maybe my bar needs to be lowered bc that seems to have been a favorie.
I can see why some wouldnt like this one though since it is a makeup sub and a ticket stub doesnt really have much to do with beauty and all. Except a pixilated envelope doesnt either and that one was a big hit..??
Either way, i like where this is going and hope for new styles. Maybe one with 2 separate compartments 😉, or a 3D shape so more things fit inside? (Bonus points for mirror on the bag, thanks 😉)

Lin, the bags are usually not exactly high quality, but they are also usually really small and mainly in just a few cuts they repeat over & over. The March bag was the largest I’ve ever received from them and very different than anything they’ve sent before. I find it one of the prettier/classier looking ones as long as you don’t inspect too closely. I love that they send lots of smaller ones though because they are usually fun, and they are so different I can easily use them to store small things and spot which bag is which inside a larger bag or drawer.

Honestly, I think the main problem with the bags is actually the customers. It’s a $10 a month bag with a heavy gearing towards younger audiences, and I feel like too many of the older members forget that and expect all the bags to be gears towards a mature audience, and then get annoyed when those ones still come off cheap. Personally I appreciate that ipsy tries to do bags for a mix of age ranges, and I don’t mind the more kitschy ones, I think they’re cute and fun. And of course the bags are cheap, it’s $10 a month and full of makeup, they wouldn’t make any money if they sent top designer quality bags out.

good point, i guess its hard to focus on the makeup aspect of the sub bc its the bag that makes them really different than say birchBOX. And i can apprecciate the pink bag more looking at it from younger consumer perspective, and now know how to make it work.
Either way, looks like i didnt resscribe in time and will miss ut on my ticket bag 😣

Been with ipsy for years and it’s a balance between Hit! or Miss with the bags. Although I can say even when I have gotten an ugly bag the contents inside have rarely disappointed me!

Best bag yet, Ipsy! This bag is AMAZING and on-trend; it’s got a Anya Hindmarch/Kate Spade fun vibe! I requested the Mr. Bing liner as my #1 choice and the dry shampoo as my #2 choice, and they replied that I would get at least one of my requests… good enough for me. 🙂 Now I’m pining for the Josie Maran and the Adesse balm; Ipsy is really killing it!

I think the bag is cute in the way that it could be used with kids to put together a treat bag for the movies, or it can be used as part of movie themed care package or date night or family night type of things. I think the usefulness for this bag extends from being a makeup bag.

I love all these ideas! I hadn’t thought about those! I was kind of meh about the bag, but you remind me there are some fun things I can do with it, and since I have all boys, this is one of those bags that I can use for their things too without it looking like a makeup bag. I keep toys in some of them. I am older and actually like most of the ipsy bags, even the cutsie ones, and the ones I won’t use are perfect for my nieces or friends that will love them. One of the big things about ipsy for me is the bags. I am totally organized with them!

I scrolled right past the ticket, not realizing it was the bag design for the month! Not a huge fan, but it also looks like it might be a faux-leather material so it’s growing on me?
The makeup options seem weaker this month too, but I am obsessed with skin care and I have super dry skin so I’d love to get some of those moisturizing options
