This month’s Gift Izzy theme was California Dreamin’. The reverse of the card had a message from jewelry designer Louise Serafini.
Serafini Pendulum Customizable Earrings – Listed Value $170.00
These Gift Izzy exclusive earrings are sterling silver and can be worn in parts. The long pendulum hangs from a dainty chain that gets slipped through like a needle and thread. The post is a separate piece and can be worn alone as simple ball studs. Serafini is going to be adding other elements so you can purchase these and then customize your pair with many different looks. I thought these were stunning and can go with most any look. Just be careful not to remove these over a sink because as you take the post out of your ear you don’t want the chain and needle to slip off and get lost.
Paradise Journal – Listed $12.00
This journal is a Gift Izzy exclusive. It’s lined inside and is a great size to throw in my bag and keep shopping lists and to-do lists. According to the information card, this will be available for purchase on the Gift Izzy website, but it’s not currently showing up.
Pacifica 7 Free Nail Color – Value $9.00
Subscribers will get variations of this Pacifica vegan and 7 free polishes. My color is called Desert Princess and is an orangey brown color. It covered nicely in two coats and I like that it avoids the harmful chemicals found in many brands.
My Pocket Yoga – Value $13.38 on Amazon (retail price $13.99)
I’ve been saying I want to get back into yoga and this is just the push I needed. This book demonstrates many different poses and also gives sequences for cleansing, relaxation, energy and fitness. The directions are easy to follow and I like the elastic strap to hold the book closed. I thought this was a great inclusion in a lifestyle box and was the first time Gift Izzy has mailed a book. It was a nice surprise to see something new.
Barefoot Sandals – Listed Value $7.00
These silver and turquoise barefoot sandals certainly fit the California Dreamin’ theme. I felt very beachy wearing them. Please pardon my awful pedicure I’m in desperate need to get to the salon. While I don’t see myself wearing these around New Jersey, maybe to Aruba in a few months…
Pacifica Lotion Wipes – Value $9.37
I’m not sure about these lotion wipes. They seem to be old and it was difficult to find them online because they appear to be a discontinued item. The package itself looks like the ink has bled giving the appearance of something that’s been sitting around for a long time. The wipes themselves weren’t moisturizing, they did lightly scent the skin with vanilla. On the Gift Izzy website, it says this box comes with facial wipes (Burt’s Bees brand is shown in the photograph) so I think I may be in the minority with what I got in my box.
Verdict: I was absolutely thrilled with this month’s hero item. The earrings are gorgeous and very much my style. While I wouldn’t spend $170 on a pair of silver earrings for myself, it’s the exact reason why I love subscription boxes. I got a beautiful accessory for a deep discount and I consider all the other items this month icing on the cake. I love the yoga book and journal too so I’m happy! As always the box felt luxe and was packaged so nicely. The total value came to over $230 which is fantastic.
