Now, onto the items!

Juice Beauty GREEN APPLE Age Defy Moisturizer – FULL SIZE! Value $48

First item out of the box and we’re already at almost double the cost of the box!

I love the Juice Beauty brand. Their products are made with organic ingredients, the green apple scent is lovely, and the formulas are gentle on my skin, too

This moisturizer feels rich, but absorbs instantly – it’s a perfect daytime cream.

Luzern Labs (2-piece kit)

Luzern Urban Protect Daily Moisturizer – 10 ml Value $30?

(Good to know for swaps – this product has an inner foil seal.)

This set includes the daily moisturizer pictured above and a foil packet of the Urban Protect Detox Masque (4 ml). (Forgot to take picture of the mask – sorry!)

Neither of these products are available online yet (they are new launches), but I estimated the value based on other Luzern face creams.

The creamy mask is designed to protect your skin while unclogging pores. It left my skin feeling super clean and smooth, but my skin was red for about 15 minutes after I removed it. (I think that’s normal for this type of mask, but I recommend spot testing it first if you have sensitive skin.)

The daily moisturizer is a lightweight, yellow gel/cream hybrid that felt lovely going on my skin after I removed the mask. (And it absorbed quickly, too!)

Alterna CC Cream 10-in 1 Complete Correction Leave-In Hair Perfector– .85 oz Value $10.20

My top 3 favorite haircare brands: Alterna, Living Proof, and Oribe. Needless to say, I was very happy to see this in the box!

This CC Cream adds softness and moisture to hair without weighing it down. It can be used on damp or dry hair. And it smells amazing! (And it is formulated without sulfates, phthalates, or parabens!)

100% Pure Pomegranate Oil Anti-aging Lipstick in Poppy – Value $29

(All subscribers will receive this Poppy red shade.)

If you aren’t familiar with 100% Pure, they make all their makeup products with natural dyes (like fruit), so their formulas are free of synthetic chemicals, synthetic dyes, chemical preservatives or any other toxin.

This bold red lipstick smells lovely (thanks to the fruit dye), and it is so moisturizing, too!

And look at this pigment!

Honest Beauty Magic Balm – Value $18

This multi-purpose balm works for almost anything. You can use it to add a little sheen/glow to your face, or use it as a lip balm, or a cuticle balm.

I’m using it as a cuticle balm and as a spot moisturizer for my face.

Veneffect Anti-Aging Lip Treatment – .1 oz Value $25

(Good to know for swaps – this product has an inner foil seal.)

This lip product is designed to hydrate and plump your lips, and help prevent vertical lines.

I wish the application tip was your typical lipbalm applicator instead of just a standard tube, but besides that, I have nothing bad to say about this product!

It’s a bit like a cream going onto your lips, but it absorbs well. It definitely hydrates my lips better than a lip balm, too. I’m not sure I can justify the $85 full-size price, but I will enjoy this sample!

Dermalogica Stress Positive Eye Cream – .2 oz Value $15.30

This is a brand new item from dermalogica! (It launched 4/6.)

It’s a cooling cream-gel mask designed to reduce visible signs of stress like puffiness and dark circles. You put it on for 3-5 minutes, then massage any excess product into your skin. (You can also apply this over makeup.)

I didn’t notice any immediate differences after using it, but the formula was gentle and left my skin extra hydrated – always good for the eye area!

Skyn Iceland Hydro Cool Firming Face Gels – Smile Line Patches – Value $4.40

How did I not know these existed? I couldn’t wait to try them as soon as I opened the box! If you are familiar with eye gel masks, these are a little different. They have a textured side, so they aren’t as slippery, and they stick to your face more, too.

You wear them for 15 minutes, and then voila! Much more hydrated skin! I could see a difference in my skin after removing them. My smile lines were much fainter. I’m definitely going to buy more of these!

Verdict: This box has a value of about $180! That’s an incredible value for a $24.95 box. This is hands down my favorite Beautyfix box of all time. They featured high-end, ingredient conscious brands, sent excellent sample sizes, and I found several new favorites! I’m going to buy another box just for product backups!

What do you think of the April 2017 Beauty Fix box?

As of 4/20 – this box is still available if you sign up! Use coupon code BFADDICTION to save $5 off your first box! (Your first box will be the April box!)

  1. The code is not working 🙁

  2. Any spoilers for the May Beautyfix box? 🙂

    • I just signed up a bit ago and received my April box all ready. I can’t figure out when does beauty fix normally bill/ship for the next month? Any help is appreciated, thank you!

      • They will probably bill you May 1st and ship it out within a day or two of payment.

    • It’s may 1 and still no spoilers?!? It’s making me crazy!

      • I know!! I’m dying over here in anticipation lol

      • It will be another couple days yet before the box is up for sale.. It doesn’t come out right on the 1st like other boxes.

  3. OMG – so, I wasn’t sure about this moisturizer and after a few weeks my skin is amazing!! I have oily skin and was hesitant to try something so thick but my face is clearer, brighter, and so plump!!! I’m probably buying another box because I need to have this stocked up!

    • I gave the moisturizer to my boss for her birthday and she said it was her favorite gift because it made her skin feel so amazing!! She said even her husband loves it and is using it as well.

      dying for the May spoilers!

  4. I loved this box, so bought another while still available. Amazing!

  5. new mothers day box just went live!!!!!! 49.99 over 200.00 value!!!!!!!

    • Fyi…my daughter got me one for Mothers day, and got 20% off..aka $10 as a new customer. Beauty fix is fast becoming my favorite.

  6. This is always my favorite box!! I agree with others, the lipstick is pretty bright but if you just dot it on and blend with a gloss it looks and stays great. The Veneffect lip product is my favorite and I used the 20% off code on the enclosed card to purchase the full size($85). I probably wont use the Juice cream on my face because I’m using other products I prefer but I’ll use it for body lotion. I really don’t know what to do with the Honest balm. I don’t like it for lip balm. I tried it on my cuticles and it leaves a greasy film.

  7. Just an idea for those of you that think the lipstick is too bright or not your shade etc… if you put a little of the honest balm on your cheeks then for some of the lipstick and blend it in it makes a perfect natural blush!!

    • That was supposed to be dot some of the lipstick lol

      • This is exactly what I did! I did the same thing on my lips and if you just pat it and add the balm it’s a nice shade that lasts and really moisturizers my face and lips. I think it’s a nice natural combo for sunny days.

  8. Ugh! I caved & subscribed. April’s box looked too good to pass up. Didn’t want to pay $34.95 + tax for a one-time box when I could save $15 by subscribing. I have so many other subscriptions already.. using this month & next to pick my favorites & narrow it down!

  9. CC Cream is amazeballs! I have super straight, dark medium thick hair. Too much product makes my hair greasy, but I always blow dry! I put this cream on my wet hair (sides, ends and the back end of my part because i have cowlicks). My hair blow drys so smooth and gorgeous. NOT greasy or weighed down at all and smells great!

  10. Subscribed after seeing the spoilers for this box! Was super turned off by their Mystery BeautyFix box that I received back in November..all tiny samples and not a thing that I liked. But this looks better.

  11. I’m new to Beauty Fix. This was my second box. I was already happy with my first box. This second box just made me a customer for life! I love this sub. It is so different than the others I sub to. (Ipsy, boxycharm, sephora, walmart ) Big Wow for Beauty Fix. Your in my top 3. If I have to give up something it’s bye bye sephora.

  12. I get Ipsy and Sephora Play and both Walmart boxes (which I cancelled but resubbed and was quite blah so I cancelled again lol that’s $10 I can spend on something else) also the occasional Target box, my 16 year old son requested Birchbox man lol I myself cancelled my Birchbox, just wasn’t what it used to be IMHO. I’ve been looking for another beauty box to replace my addiction and Beaty Fix seems to keep calling me 😜 I think today’s the day I’m signing up because this box looks omg, Perfect! 😄 I’ve been trying to decide whether or not to try the Juice Beauty moisturizer and for much less than the cost of a full size I can! And a $5 coupon! Ohhhhhh, I’m so excited 😁😍😀

  13. This is my fourth beautyfix box. I am obsessed with this subscription box. Every box has been amazing. By far the best beauty box!

  14. I tried the lipstick yesterday and absolutely love it. Yes, the color is very rich, however, I did just a few dabs and blended with lip balm. The lips looked slightly tinted red, very natural. Great product.

    • Yes, I agree with you. If you put this lipstick on full strength, it is VERY bright. I actually slapped in on like regular, then took a tissue and blotted almost all of it off. It left a perfect light red stain on my lips. So lovely and natural with a gloss over it. Another way to use this is to line your lips with a more brownish or nude liner, then dot this over the top and blend.

  15. Yes!! Can’t wait to get mine!

  16. Wow I took advantage of the coupon and subscribed. I just cancelled allure and birchbox so hopefully this is the box I want! Either way a great way to try new things or build my stash haha, I like to give away products that don’t work for me so I’m okay with the occasional fail.

  17. Did anyone else think that the Honest Beauty Magic Balm was old/rancid? Mine smelled like rotten oil and had little bumps throughout the product.

    • Make sure to contact them, I expect they will send you a new one….I love the one I got!

  18. Alright, so I caved! How could I not after seeing your review? I’m excited to get these products!!

  19. This was my first BeautyFix box and I was blown away. My favorite item was the Juice Beauty moisturizer. I like the formula quite a bit, I just wish it came in a pump. i didn’t realize that line has so many products. I was testing them all at Whole Foods today. They are pricey and I kept thinking to myself, wow, I got this one product for just a fraction of that price.
I used the Honest Beauty balm on the tops of my hands. For me it’s a little too shiny to use on my face.

    • Well, I have gotten a lot of Juicy Beauty products from BeautyFix, so I would say to stick with them and I’m sure we’ll be seeing more from them!

      • Thank you. I will have to go back and look at past reviews. A lot of folks commented that they didn’t like that brand when the spoilers were released so I’m glad that it worked well on me. And folks were saying they didn’t like the scent. I didn’t notice that either. Lucky me.

  20. I absolutely LOVED my box! I didn’t receive a moisturizer though and contacted them about it, still waiting on a reply. 🙁 Moisturizer was the reason I subscribed!

    • I was missing the Luzern moisturizer, emailed them Saturday evening, and today received an email that they are sending me a whole new box. That seems to be their standard practice, I’ve found the CS to be wonderful.

      • Really?! Strange because I emailed them the day I wrote this comment and they told me they would send me a moisturizer only and now I got an email saying it’s on back order! 🤔

      • Actually I emailed them THURSDAY!!! 😑

  21. In looking for more information on the Dermalogica eye cream, their website says it should be applied with a metal “cooling massage applicator”, which we did not receive. Seems strange to me that here we get a sample that they hope we will love and buy, but don’t give us that sample with the correct applicator that makes the product work properly.

    • If you have an empty rollerball, with a metal ball, use that. Or the tip of a metal teaspoon. The only thing the metal does is keep the cream a degree or so cooler for about one to two seconds after application. There is no physical or chemical enhancement due using metal.

    • The applicator is like the one used on that Benefit product “puff off”, which I love. It’s a slanted metal applicator with little bumps on it to massage the product in.

  22. I loved that lipstick and while the color is very intense, I used a gloss on top of a lighter hand in applying it and it made all the difference in the world. It really lasted a long time as well. So, MSA readers, don’t give up on a great lipstick too quickly just because it looks very bold. It is, but is such a great product that it is worth the extra effort in toning it down a bit.

Regardless, another awesome box from Beautyfix.

    • Great tip!

  23. Liz, you did not list the separate price for the Luzern mask. Would you please do that as well? Thanks.

    • It’s part of a 2 piece set, not priced individually as it isn’t available for purchase in its own.

  24. This was my first BeautyFIX box, and I was blown away. The clown lipstick went into the trash after I looked in the mirror, but I loved the formula. I am super-impressed with BeautyFIX! Favorite discovery: The Honest Beauty balm. WOW. Only a smidgen goes such a long way, and smells and feels amazing. Very happy camper here!

    • What a great box to start with! Glad you like it!! 🙂

    • I hated the lipstick too. I wish I never opened it. I may just give it to my friend.

    • My daughter said I looked like a mime and all I needed was a stripe shirt, LOL!😂

    • I LOVE the lipstick. It has great staying power so it works well as a lip tint. Apply just a little bit and spread it across your lip. It stays on for hours and looks so pretty.

  25. I love this box!

  26. I cannot get the lipstick out of the cardboard tube.

  27. I loved everything in my Beautyfix box! Beautyfix is by far my favorite sub and will never get rid of it!

  28. Love this box! It came yesterday. I always love Beauty Fix. The only product the was a miss for me was the red lipstick. But no complaints about that considering the value of the the box.

  29. Yesss!!! New sub 😍

  30. I used the Luzern mask last night and was VERY impressed. Not often I know I want more of a product after one use. My face was a little red after too, but it didn’t seem to be irritation. I didn’t care for the yellow moisturizer as much–it didn’t absorb well for me.

The poppy lipstick wasn’t a good color for me, but it was one of the best feeling lipsticks I’ve ever tried. I can’t get enough BeautyFix. I’m up to two boxes a month.

  31. Wow $180! Can’t wait to get mine!

  32. I love BeautyFIX! Always great value and amazing brands ^_^

  33. The apple moisturizer left my face red for hours after. Wasn’t impressed with the honest balm and the lipstick is soooo bright! The eye cream was moisturizing but I didn’t like anything for the $27 charge and canceled. I originally subscribed for the hair cream last month which I like, but haven’t loved any of the other products. I think this box is great for people wanting anti aging products but if you have sensitive dry skin this box is a Miss.

    • You can always swap or sell on ebay products you don’t like. I’m sure it would more than cover the cost of the box with only a couple of the items.

      • Do ppl usually swap items they’ve already sampled? I thought swaps were supposed to be unused?

      • As long as you mark the item as “Used”, and maybe provide a brief explanation as to how it was used (i.e. swatched), then you should be fine.
