trunk-club-february-2017-packet

This packet was also included in my trunk. So first, a little more about how Trunk Club works. When I signed up, I took a pretty lengthy style questionnaire online. Then I was matched with a stylist, Kelly, who asked me even more about what I like and what I was looking for via an online chat. Based on this information, she selected ten items for me to try on at home. She then sent me a link to preview all my items! This month I decided to try everything she selected.

trunk-club-february-2017-note

This is a note from my stylist, Kelly. She explains why she chose the items she chose, but what's important here is that she actually was available to chat online beforehand with me, and she references our discussion. I love this level of personalized service! This month, I mentioned to her that I have two trips coming up in March, one for business to a warm destination and one for fun to a cold destination. Let's see how she did!

This is my invoice. It lists the items I was sent and the cost to keep each item. My $25 styling fee will be deducted from anything I decide to keep. There is also a reminder to provide feedback on their website or app about how well each item worked for me.

trunk-club-february-2017-instructions

On the back of the invoice are instructions for returning the items I don't want to keep. I can drop my box back off at any UPS location, or I can schedule a free pickup through the Trunk Club app!

These items were also in the packet. When I've finished repackaging the items I don't want to keep in the box, I just put this return label on it and use the tape straps to tape it back up! So convenient!

New Slim Strap Tank by Sejour - Cost to keep $25

I know it's just a black cotton tank, but it has a really different cut that I think is pretty flattering for a layering piece. I like it!

'Patched Up' Distressed Skinny Jeans by City Chic - Cost to keep $89

I love, love, love these jeans! I actually love them so much that I just bought a pair almost exactly like them. Do I need two?

Crop Utility Jacket by Sejour - Cost to keep $89

I really like this cotton jacket! It's cropped, but not too cropped. I think this might be my favorite look so far for spring. This is actually a great foundation for my fun trip to a cold climate!

Pintuck Lace Layer Top by City Chic - Cost to keep $69

This is not the best picture of me, but I think it's because I was really not feeling this top at all. It's not flattering, and I am not a fan of "fussy" clothing.

Stripe Maxi Dress by City Chic - Cost to keep $99

Why do people say that short women can't wear maxi dresses? I think some of my favorite pieces ever are maxi dresses, and I spent years thinking I couldn't wear them. Years! I love this dress, and I think it's really flattering! That being said, it's not very business appropriate, and my second request was for the warm climate business trip. Maybe I should keep it anyway?

Crop Denim Jacket by Slink Jeans - Cost to keep $68

What is up with Slink Jeans? Every styling box I've received for the past month has something from Slink Jeans in it! Fortunately, the jacket fits better and is more flattering than their jeans on me. I am not really in the market for a new denim jacket, though. I'm not sure about this piece.

Verdict: This was another awesome package from Trunk Club! I think Kelly picked some great pieces for my upcoming travel. The only piece I really didn't like was the white blouse, but everything else I liked or loved. I am becoming a big fan of Trunk Club!

Anna,
I’m a little confused! you mentioned in the beginning that your stylist selected 10 items then later in the review it says that you got six items even though u state you went with everything your stylist selected so I’m confused. I’m just trying to get an idea about how many items they actually send. What happens if u go online to see what the stylist selects and u don’t like anything?

Hi Missy! I’m sorry, that was a typo. Should have said six items, but she has picked as many as ten in the past. You are in close contact with your stylist, so you can let her know if you’re unhappy with your selections. Hope this helps!

I love the black tank and tan jacket. They both look great on you.

The tank seems like it would be really versatile, dressy, business, or casual depending on what you pair it with. For warm weather wear it alone or for cooler temps add a sweater or jacket. I think that would be great for any sort of trip.

Love all the pieces. But if you don’t feel good in the white shirt, I agree, send it back!

Not to be contrary, but I think the white top looks fabulous on you. But, as others said, important to keep the clothes that make you feel good. The white and that shape are good though… maybe she could find something less fussy but along similar color/shape lines?

Love the jeans!

Thanks LynnDeanne! Good idea.

The maxi dress looks incredible and will be a piece you can dress up or go casual. Your smile definitely the best accessory! 🙂

Jenn

Your smile IS the best accessory…

Add a black sweater to the maxi and then it will be great for your trip.

I think the denim jacket layered on the white top with different colored pants (black, grey) would look awesome.

The only shirt I didnt care for was the fuzzy tshirt. I really love the jesns and the 2 jean jackets. That jean jacket and the maxi… Omg sooo cute on you sweetie…. The dress in the day and when it cools down at night… You will be the cute and colorful…. The price tags not so much….

Anna

Is your maxi see-through? I had to return that dress because the white parts showed exact color of underthings I was wearing 😳

Anna

Whoops! I didn’t notice that, but I think I was wearing tan drawers… 😂

I think the maxi dress is gorgeous on you ! Very flattering and feminine looking . I just think $99 is a lot for a maxi dress

I definitely think those wicked jeans and that dress are my absolute favorites! 😄💜 Although I’m always of the opinion that people should wear what they personally like, the opinions of others be damned 😉
