Julep-March-2017-0004

This box came with a fold out sheet that details the beauty item for the month and the new colors launched.

Julep-March-2017-0005

Now, onto the items!

Julep-March-2017-0009

First, Julep usually includes a bonus item like candy in every box! This month it is two nail polish remover pads.

Julep-March-2017-0010

I try to use only acetone-free nail polish remover, but these will be good in a pinch.

Julep-March-2017-0011

Julep Nail Polish in Lara - Value $14

Julep-March-2017-0012

This polish is described as a "shell pink with gold shimmer."

Julep-March-2017-0013

I always gravitate to subtle pinks and beiges in my nail polish, so I picked this looking for a pale pink with a hint of sparkle.

Unfortunately, I think this polish reads more white than pink on my nails:

Julep-March-2017-0020

It's still a pretty color, but not what I was expecting and hoping for.

Julep-March-2017-0014

Julep Ta Da! Quick Dry Drops - Retail Value $18

Julep-March-2017-0015

These drops are scented with lavender and ylang ylang, and I love them just for that alone! In addition to making your hands smell lovely, they really do help speed up the drying process.

To use them, let the nail polish dry for one minute, then apply 1-2 drops. (Any excess product helps moisturize cuticles.) I could definitely tell a difference with these drops - I was able to get back to typing immediately without messing up my nails. (I did accidentally bang my hand into my desk and that dinged up a nail, but that's more on my clumsiness than the drops!)

Julep-March-2017-0017

Julep Mighty Nail & Cuticle Serum - Value $28

Julep-March-2017-0019

First, I love this cuticle serum because of the slick pen design. It's perfect for throwing in your purse and always having on hand anytime you notice your cuticles could use a little help.

Julep-March-2017-0018

(It's one of those clicky pens that feels like it takes an infinite amount of clicks before the product actually starts emerging!) The formula is a lightweight liquid, so you're not going to get the same amount of moisture as some of the more intense cuticle treatments I've tried, but it dries almost instantly, so it is great for touchups.

Julep-March-2017-0007

And this box also included a coupon for 30% your next purchase.

Verdict: The Ta Da drops were my favorite item this month - I'll be using them with all nail polish moving forward! The cuticle serum is great, too. The nail polish shade was the only miss for me this month.

I tried using the wipes this week and one wipe only took off polish from 3 nails and that was pushing it. Also, I was removing Julep polish so it’s not like it was a different brand. Not impressed with those…send me a peanut butter cup any day of the week!

I got the No Limits Luxe Hydrating Creme. It is awesome and the dispenser makes it so easy to apply and no having to stick your finger in a jar. It works really well with the Boost Your Radiance Oil. It’s been so dry here lately and this combo has kept my skin looking moist and supple.

I decided to sub after reading this blog. I customized to get the quick dry drops, Lara and Jennye polishes & Plie Wand. Still haven’t gotten my box yet but looking forward to it.

Julia

I hope you like it! This and Book of the Month are the boxes I’ve had for the longest time (I unsubscribed from my other early boxes), and I think the ability to skip months and customization are why. 🙂

I got my box yesterday! Lara and Jennye were both perfect. I loved both polishes for their subtle loveliness. Ta Da was smaller than I expected but did the job of drying my nails well. The only thing that irked me a little about the box was the fact my plie wand broke when I tried to use it. Still, overall happy. C:

This is really tempting me! I sub to SOOOOOO many though.
I am NOT joking when I say this site is costing me an average of $200 a week now. Argh! Fairly certain I’ll be subbing to this one soon as well.

Haha my husband has told me I had serious addiction!! But in my defense I have met all my goals that he toldme to meet finianal wise. So what else am I to do with my spending money. I stopped buying shoes and purses and now have 5 subscription to beauty boxes for this year lol….

Julia

I knew almost nothing about subs before I came here. I think most of us spend a lot more money after seeing all of Liz’s great reviews!

I sometimes look at other sites to see boxes that aren’t reviewed here, and sometimes they don’t even the the items out of their individual packages! Why even bother unboxing if you aren’t going to swatch and show what the items look like out of their containers… that’s one thing I love about this site.

Tanya

I love that I get to individualize this box every month!

I signed up and received the 12 free nail polish right away, but still have not received my March box??

Amanda

The same happened with me when I signed up to Julep in January. Apparently, as soon as you sign up to become a maven subscriber, they mail you your free gift right away. The actual subscription box usually arrives in the 3rd week of the given month. So, you should expect your March box to arrive somewhere in the 3rd week of March.

Julia

Really? I think I received my February box on the last day of January! I’ve learned that sub boxes arrive a lot slower/ later for some people, though, so I wouldn’t worry until next week. 🙂

Heather B.

Not sure what the holdup is but I promise their box will be worth the wait!! I love them! They are definitely one of my top 3 out of the 20 boxes I’ve tried!! (Still receive 15😆) I love the fact that you can totally customize your box if you wish! I hope you get your box soon and that you love it!!!

I customized my box. I picked out the fig shimmer eye liner and the Keaton polish from this months collection. I also got the Coco polish and some holographic nail stickers. I love the Keaton color! It more mushroom to me than maple sugar. I picked out some add ons so that i’d get a gift and they sent me a tangerine creme polish. Not an ideal color for me, but I’m going to top it with the Trisha polish and call them my goldfish nails

Julia

Hmm I might have gotten the same color – I think mine was Linda? I’m curious if the free gift is the same for everyone each month.

Christina

Mine is Jenna. I might use it on its own later in the year. I like pastels, neutrals, and candy colors for spring

Svetlana7e

I received same free gift – tangerine polish. I used it with clear nail polish with sparkles and it come out actually pretty good.

I chose Faith from the collection whuch looks far more mauve/pink in Julep’s photo but it’s quite purple. I was pretty disappointed.

I’ve gone through two cuticle pens from past mystery boxes and wasn’t impressed so that was an easy pass for me. I picked up an older polish and the facial cleanser stick!

Reply ButtonReply

Julia

In the few reviews I’ve seen, it does look a little darker on the nail. Maybe you could call customer service? I’m sorry you don’t like the color – it’s disappointing when the bottle or online photo doesn’t match what you see in real life. 🙁

Reply ButtonReply

Julia

Yeah, that pink is very pale – I’m not that surprised it reads as white against your skin tone. Were you able to get full coverage? I tend to avoid really light colors since they tend to be sheer, which isn’t my favorite.

I ordered the sunscreen this month instead of the cuticle oil, and of course my cuticles started to get super dry the very next day! Let’s just hope my Allure box arrives quickly.

Svetlana7e

I picked facial oil and another cleansing oil and did three low cost adds on and received free nail polish. In March definitely want to get dry drops. I noticed that Julep nail polishes dries a long time.

Reply ButtonReply

Julia

I think the dry time is very dependent on the color and finish, but overall I’ve found that 5-free or higher polishes take longer to dry (I’m guessing the excluded ingredients make the other polishes dry more quickly).

I will say that the quick dry drops definitely work, but they have the potential to “shrink” the polish on your nail a bit. I think this is true of most products of this type, like the Seche Vite top coat. Just something to keep in mind!

Taren

Good to know. Thanks for the tip!

Jira

I picked a facial oil, an eyeliner, and a spring nail polish this month. I think I paid $16.99 each month since I subscribed for 6 months and the total value of my products was $66 and I love everything so far! I think this is great subscription!

I was really disappointed with the nail pen when i got I several months ago. I had to use multiple “clicks ” per nail to get ANY liquid, which means I used up the whole pen very quickly. Ended up being a completely wasted item 🙁

Marion

I really love that Julep included the wipes this time instead of candy.

I did not get the Mighty pen in my box this time because I already have it. The fact that it is a lighter formula is actually a feature for me, not a drawback. 🙂
