What happened, Play?! Jeez, this month’s products were tiny! Just like Birchbox….good bye, Play!

Sephora Play is definitely one of those “be careful what you wish for” subs in my opinion. I wanted it so bad and then finally got off the waitlist for what? Disappointment almost every month and I tell myself its just $10. but the $120. figure about choked me. March better be awesome.

March will also be my 1st month if I don’t cancel it before the 1st. I am waiting for a spoiler or something to keep me from pressing that cancel button!

I meant a different spoiler than the Glamglow that I am not really interested in.

I figured I’d try it. What I really wish I could get on is BoxyCharm. Have been on the waitlist 2 months. Birchbox has been awful lately but hoping this month is better with Reese Witherspoon picking the curated box. We’ll see. If no better this month I’m cancelling. Target doesn’t look bad and I think Walmart ships in March?

The wait list is open from all the people cancelling after receiving the worst month ever!!

Exactly. I canceled after three crappy bags as I lost hope that it would get better each month.

Ha canceled as well. And the previous comment of spending $120 on samples, really hit home. Money I could have spent on things I really wanted. Canceled and not looking back!!

I have been subbed for 6 months now. This month was by far the worst one yet. My biggest issue is sample size. Seriously, why are the samples so small? Especially if your going to send out your own brand. That mascara this month was a joke. Also, why aren’t the products more diverse? It seems like I’m getting 2 lip products every month! Every month I say I’m going to cancel and then I talk myself out of it. I just keep thinking next month just HAS to be better. So far I’ve been wrong. Fortunately I usually discover at least 1 product I really like and I probably wouldn’t have tried otherwise. Unfortunately I don’t think that justifies the $10 cost. That being said I will likely talk myself out of cancelling again. Sigh…

I also found myself debating canceling and didn’t do it reasoning it was just $10 so even if the products weren’t great, something would be useful.

The appalling and ridiculously small samples this month made me realize I’ve spent $120 a year on this subscription; which could have been spent on something I really wanted rather than just-as-useless-and-tiny-as-Birchbox samples.

wow, your comment hit home with the $120, I agree I could have bought something I really wanted in the past year, I’ve been using almost nothing from these boxes. And we aren’t nuts, I went back and looked through the early boxes that made me want to subscribe, they had way better brands and bigger samples. I just cancelled too after being on the fence for about 4 months.

Julie

Just canceled mine. I looked through all the samples I got and for the most part they were all in the $30 range of products. Just not worth it especially since I can get free samples in store of what I want that end p being bigger than what they send and spend the money on something decent plus get a free gift with purchase like the amazing Party Glam bag packed with deluxe samples or the cosmetic bag!

Agree! Cancelled as well.

Totally agree. I’m hugely disappointed because the subscription was great when it started. The long wait to subscribe and the serious box jealousy of those selected few who received the first boxes was exacerbating. Once I got in, things were pretty good but then it started to go downhill. Samples used to be “deluxe” sized but now are “microbe” sized. Shipping is atrociously slow. Not worth it at all. Cancelled.
