Wild Turkey Forgiven Whiskey – Value $55.99

This month’s Bourbon Explorer selection is Wild Turkey Forgiven, a 91-proof whiskey made from Wild Turkey Bourbon and Wild Turkey Rye.

I’ve had Wild Turkey once or twice before, but I’ve never had the chance to sample anything outside of their basic, mass-market offerings, so I’m excited to see a specialty blend in this month’s box. I’m also a big fan of rye. (I think rye Manhattans might be my all-time favorite cocktail!)

There’s some beautiful detailing on this bottle. The front of the bottle is decorated with a glass seal, and the wooden stopper is engraved with a turkey design.

Forgiven’s aroma is spicy and rich, and the color of the bottled whiskey is a beautiful warm amber.

The flavor is creamy, mellow, and really tasty, with hints of vanilla and caramel.

I’m a big fan of this whisky! It’s delicious on its own, and I think it will also be great in cocktails!

Verdict: I’m very happy with this month’s PourMore Bourbon Explorer pick! Wild Turkey Forgiven is really delicious, and I’m glad that I got to try one of Wild Turkey’s specialty offerings. The value of this month’s pick doesn’t meet the cost of the subscription, but it’s important to note that the value does fluctuate from month to month. Last month’s pick, Rogue Spirits Dead Guy Whiskey, came in at $42.99, and the month before that I received a bottle of Jefferson’s Reserve Old Rum Cask finish, which has an MSRP of $99.99.

  1. I got Pourmore subscription for my boyfriend as a birthday gift because he loves whiskey. He did indeed enjoy it so thank you for making his birthday exciting. He loved the whiskeys they sent and even though its kind of expensive I may renew it for him! Only thing I would change is that when you sign up you don’t get the gift right away and you have to wait until they ship it, thank you.
