I’m excited about this box! It also says that this is the highest valued box to date. I wish there were more spoilers…. But the bracelet alone is worth the cost of the box! Plus it’s a very unique piece, something that I don’t have nor have I ever seen anything similar, so I’m excited. I of course got the orange colored halycon bangle, go figure, the one color I DIDN’T want! So I was about to cancel and then got so busy that I actually forgot about cancelling, which I’m glad I did cause once I saw the spoiler I was pretty happy and thought I’d give them another try. It’s nice to have a luxury box that isn’t all beauty! Plus anything I don’t like, I save for gifts! Like those Kosta wine glasses, I won’t use those but they’ll make a great wedding gift to someone and they’ll think you spent a lot too, lol. It’s that bad? And I seriously don’t know what to do with those steel ice cubes. They look too pretty and shiny to just put in the freezer and throw in a glass. They only gave us four! So you really can’t use them when company comes over, unless you want to give them one cube each! Ahhh- The lifestyles of the want to look rich and wish to marry the famous(without all the divorces and cheating) …..

Cancelled subscription after splurging on luxor box black. Looks like I haven’t been missing out!

Am I the only one who is like, “another bracelet?” Everyone loves a bracelet I guess. It is pretty.

I hate to say it, but I am glad it is a bracelet. I am afraid that the zebra pendant was a miss…in my opinion it is too large, and just looks awkward. I am glad that Luxor is moving on from HD…and I hope that they are more careful as to the jewelry items that they include in their boxes. Unless this is a particularly large bracelet, I think it will look beautiful.

I am quite tempted by this box but I need a little something more to push me over the edge to buy it.

Does anyone who gets this box also get Gift Izzy? It seems like that is similar and I can’t decide which one to try.

Opinions welcome!

Well, the box might be luxe, but the website definitely is not!

After paying for my new sub with Paypal (as they require), I was redirected to a a generic webpage stating that “Squarespace Trial Accounts are not visible to the public.” (!) It asked if I was the owner (login w/ password) or a visitor. I chose the latter, and at least then I was directed to one of the Luxor pages.

It all seems pretty shady (at least extremely clunky) to me, which is not at all what I envisioned for this company. I’m really hoping I didn’t just get scammed!

Wait, what? You have to have PayPal to purchase this box? Ugh, I had an issue with PP and don’t use them anymore. I got a prepaid credit card that I use for my subscription boxes. This is unfortunate news. I’m slowly making my way up the Sub Luxe ladder. Dang,

Rosemary

Hi! I am sorry that you are in this position. If you can afford the upfront cost (which really sucks) you could sub to Luxe Province. It seems that this has some incredible stuff in it (I just subbed…I can’t wait to get my first box). I am under the impression that everything in this box are highly coveted, so if you want a swappy luxe box, this is even better than Luxor (in my opinion).

Lisa

Your paying for the designer not necessarily the metals used. I wouldn’t pay anywhere near that much on its own, however, it’s worth the cost of the sub for sure!

From the Eddie Borgo website:

All Eddie Borgo jewelry is made from brass metal and electroplated with genuine Gold, Rhodium, or Rose Gold precious metals. All items are coated with an electro-coating (e-coating) to prevent tarnishing and wear.

Alyssa

Thanks, Suzy. I also contacted Customer Service and they said, “Our Plinth Cuff is Rhodium plated, which is a heavier and more durable plating than silver.” Hope this helps!

Can you buy this box as a 1 time purchase or does this start a sub? Thinking I want just this box for Valentines Day!

Reply ButtonReply

Sammee

It starts a sub but you can always cancel it before you are billed for the next box. And I don’t know if this matters to you or not, but LB is a bi-monthly subscription (the last box was January’s) so this is a spoiler for the March box so you won’t be receiving this box near Valentine’s Day.

Looks like plated. I googled and this one came up (which is the rose gold version) here was the websites description:
Eddie Borgo Plinth Cuff Bracelet
$225 Sold out saksfifthavenue.com Sponsored
A sharp, architectural style that evinces the New York-based designer’s edgy urban aesthetic, cast with the sleek sheen of rhodium plating as its base and the rich gleam of 14k rose goldplating at its closure. 14k rose goldplated and rhodium-plated brass. Diameter, about 2.15″. Width, about 0.5″. Hinged closure. Imported. – Plinth Cuff Bracelet

I would love to know if it is sterling silver or plated. And do we have any idea if it opens? It’s beautiful!

Reply ButtonReply

Riki_424

It’s rhodium plated which is better than silver because it’s more durable and doesn’t tarnish. Also by looking at the pic, it looks like there’s a hinge of some sort close to the Eddie borgeo logo. So I’m almost wondering if it magnetically opens at the center of the pyramid, but I’m just taking a guess…..

I’m so happy I splurged on this box! I love this bracelet!

Eileen

This is seriously tempting me.

Based on the other jewelry on the site, this is most likely a silver-PLATED piece, not Sterling Silver. Depending on how it’s plated, it could come off fairly quickly. Personally, for a plated piece, this seems over priced to me :/

Carol Glaser

They really need to be clear about this! It makes a huge difference as to whether it’s worth it. I checked the site, and they don’t make it clear at all. So – silver plated, or solid .025?

Reply ButtonReply

Riki_424

It’s rhodium plated which is actually better than silver because it’s more durable and won’t tarnish.

Austen

based on the way similar pieces are priced, I’m pretty sure it’s plated. Also, their sterling silver items are definitely noted clearly as such, which this isn’t.

Anna

So nice!
