I’m confused about the wait list being open. I actually signed up for ipsy for the first time in December. I got an email saying that I would be right off the wait list and would receive my first bag in January.. but when January got here… nothing. Finally, I went to my account to see if a January bag was coming my way, and all I found was that it said, I would now receive my first bag in February! Why am I not getting my bag!? I’m already starting to think about cancelling!

Ipsy is kind of lacking information on their site. Maybe I’m just missing it. Do they sell the products you get in the bag if you like something? Can you order a gift subscription? Can you use a pre-paid Visa/MC to pay? I’m not familiar with many of the brands they list. Are they mostly made in China generic brands?

I wasn’t able to use a prepaid card, I found this with a few subs….it was suggested to use one so I had one…. however I hadn’t found any that accepted. At the time I sub’d to over 10. Once the order runs now, I cancel my sub so I don’t forget to. If I decide to do another annual, I just put the card info in again.

I love Ipsy!! I would recommend them. It takes a few bags before your profile matches. I received the same products that I’ve received in other subcriptions. I’ve also gotten Indie products and products that target would have. Some high-end and some drug store high-end. Their bags are so cute. #ipsy has a points system also. I gotten full size makeup brushes and some really good products. Sometimes a bad month and then I switch up my profile and it works. I’ve been subcribed for a year.

Gonna try to answer one of these questions. I looked for information on the site about ordering a gift subscription and found this information:

“We don’t have a gifting program, but you can still purchase a Glam Bag subscription for someone else.”

Basically, it then goes on to give instructions to create a new account and beauty profile but tells you to enter in the recipient’s email address and shipping info.

Definitely something they should work on. I was going to gift either Birchbox or Ipsy to my sister for Christmas. Birchbox made it easier, so I went with them.

I think the only one I can answer is that they don’t sell the products they put in their bags. However, they do usually provide discount codes on the brands’ sites for those items featured in that current month’s bags. After you log in, toggle over “Offers”, and the discount codes will be under “Brand Offers”. Additionally, they offer daily Ipsy offers where you can purchase items for really cheap. There’s only one offer per day (Monday – Friday), and they are released at 9am PST. Each offer lasts about 5 days or until sold out (whichever comes first). If you toggle over “Offers” it’ll be under “Ipsy Offers”.

They should name their profile matching application “regret” or “opposite game”. I always get everything I marked that I don’t want and never get anything I want. A chimp can do a better job. So annoying. Anyone have the same experience?

Yes! That’s the exact reason I unsubscribed!

Absolutely….it’s why I cancelled my sub to ipsy. They always had items that perfectly matched my profile and I got none of them. I was very disappointed. I reviewed my items and kept updating but never changed.
