I’m rather new to Birchbox and have a question for the vets. Are there usually leftover curated boxes available for purchase? I really really love this box and I’m sure I’ll really love one of the choices too. I think I might have a small addiction to these damn things. I signed up for 4 different subs with the intent of dropping to my two favs. Hahahah- that’ll never happen.

They normally sell the curated box on their site ($10 for subscribers, $15 for everyone else) for about a month starting on the sample choice day – you can find it by searching “curated box” in the shop : )

Eva, thank you.

I think I will get the curated box for February. I just received my January box. I think, I should have gotten the curated box. I’m new to beauty subscription boxes, so I don’t have the hang of when to pick my samples or go with the curated box. It seems most beauty boxes have eyeliner and/or eyebrow products. I don’t use either, so I’m wondering if these really are popular items in beauty boxes or just recently being included.

I’m super excited about next months box! I’m still waiting on this months box.

the code GLOWFORIT is not working…..

Sarah

Are you still having trouble applying this? I was just able to use it. It looks like they just updated their site too so maybe there was some temporary weirdness!

If they sell the curated box I will purchase it, I love all these products, although I would probably swap the lip crayon. I already have one and only wear lip color a couple days a week. I dumped birchbox and ipsy a few months ago and went with beauty fix and Sephora play instead and couldn’t be happier!

So boring… No new brands, no new products. I cancelled in November and still no wish to resubscribe. I loved Birchbox 2 years ago, but now almost every box looks for me as a set of old-stock items in a nice box, ok…

Toni

I already have several of those items which makes me sad because the two times I’ve picked an item I’ve hated everything else .And once I let it ride oh what a mistake that was.December was one off the months I had chosen an item,I didn’t even get that item buttttt I contacted their cs and they fixed it as always ,they do have the best cs

I actually like this box. I’ll probably buy it extra. I always buy their curated box. Ten dollars for all this isn’t bad.

I got dry shampoo in last Birch box. I am sick of this product. I start subscribing different boxes since October and already have so many dry shampoos. I wish they would stop pushing it.

Reply ButtonReply

Monique

If you ever want to swap out your dry shampoo, let me know. I love the stuff.

Reply ButtonReply

Svetlana

Hi Monique I never used swap but I will gladly send you all my dry shampoo. My msn email svetlana7e.

Ann

Nothing here for me. Got all these things many times this past year.

I hate Birchbox now… it used to be great like 2 or 3 years ago, but now it’s pretty awful. I love Ipsy! They really take your preferences into account and I’ve liked most everything I’ve received over the past three months since I subscribed. Plus they hand out much bigger samples or full-size! I definitely recommend dropping BB and going to Ipsy.

P.S.
I subscribed to Ipsy a couple of years ago also, and they have improved since then tremendously!

Not bad, Though I’m waiting to see the sample choices. I’ve been with Birchbox for 9months and the only thing that would be a repeat is the dry shampoo which I already love (I have shortish fine hair – I’m going to have to round up my hair mask/treatment samples for swaps.)

U subbed for BB janruary 2016, and kept it all year, I cancled after my December box. A lot of the items they have put in the janruary curated box, I have already recieved, and I have already recieved the items in the February curated box. But that’s not the biggest issue with me. They done good on some of the items. But every time I recieved a makeup product, it was something I gave away because it was something I couldn’t use.

Reply ButtonReply

Sara

I actually kind of like the curated box. Except for the dry shampoo, they will all be new for me (started my sub. in October). I am not a huge dry shampoo fan, but I do use it on occasion. I put anything I won’t use into a bag and give it to my teenage nieces when I see them. They can pick and choose what they want (there are 5 of them) and between all of them, everything has a new home.
I am anxious to see what the sample choices are though. 🙂
(now, please drop samples of the January Play! by Sephora box! I am a new subscriber and am anxious to see what the box contains!!)

There was a spoiler for January Play on here a couple of weeks ago. Search Play and you should find it. 🙂 It looked pretty good!!

I am glad I cancelled my subscription. My issue with birchbox is that after one full year of boxes… I have pretty much received all of the “good” samples. It just seems like they are repeating samples a lot. That’s disappointing because at first, I always looked forward to my boxes.

I agree. I subscribed starting Feb. 2016 and stopped with my last box Nov 2016.
I had already received: The Beauty Crop PBJ Smoothie Stick (was in a summer box, but loved it), R+Co Death Valley Dry Shampoo (ugh, don’t use or like dry shampoo, give it to my daughters), and Bumble and Bumble Repair Blow Dry (love this brand and product so repeat here is not bad).
Liked my sub and points, cashed those in – end of story! Needed to cut back subs anyone since I have enough stuff. Have enjoyed the boxes, most are really cute and great place to store items!

Chrystal

I’ve been subscribing to Birchbox since May 2016, is the PB&J stick a full size product? I planned on quitting BB next month for Look Fantastic, but I may hold out until I see the sample choices for February.

Angela

Glad I cancelled. I used to get 2 birch boxes cause they were so good. Not sorry I cancelled so far! Glossybox is next if I don’t start getting things I want to try.

Lola EB

Question: is the curated box guaranteed these items or are there variations? Thanks.

Reply ButtonReply

Luna

You will definitely be getting those items shown for the curated box. There are never any variations in the curated boxes (including color/scent variations… that I know of).

Reply ButtonReply

Lola EB

Thank you. I rather like the February box.

Kori

I would get it for the Acure (LOVE this brand) and Dr Jart but the rest is very unappealing. I’ll have to see what the sample choice options are.

Reply ButtonReply

Luna

Ha! This is exactly what I was thinking when I saw what would be in the curated box. 😀 I’d like to try the Acure, because that’s new to me, and that Dr. Jart sample is pretty large (and I’ve only heard good things about it), but I’ve already received that lip crayon (but, I would keep it) and I would gift the other items. I’ll also be waiting to see what the sample choices are. Regardless, I already know I’ll be getting the curated, whether I purchase it or select it. February is my last month of my annual sub with BB, so I hope the sample choices are good!

Reply ButtonReply

Ann

The Dr Jart is good but not really for very dry skin. I consider it a light moisturizer.

Lola EB

The Dr. Jart is great. It feels like water but is moisturizing unlike some of the other water creams I have tried. It looks like the 1 oz sample which lasted a long time for me.

Diana

Geez enough with the dry shampoo. How much can one person use. This same lipstick I got in my Birchbox in feb 2016.

Hildol

oh man, i go to the gym 4 times a week minimum and then back to work. I go through dry shampoo so quickly so i look back to normal when back at work. if anyone has a lot of it and wants to swap, Im your girl!!

Thanks for posting this at just the right time! I just started getting Birchbox in November and was contemplating switching to a different sub after being super unhappy with my January personalized box (curated box looked meh as well). But this curated box looks good and I’d actually use everything in it. Will stick around now!

Dianne

Love the box and the products

Reply ButtonReply

Dena

I’m definitely getting the curated box for February. I am super unhappy with my pending January box. I skipped the curated for January and I regret it bad. Grrr.

Reply ButtonReply

Kayla

Love this box!! The Dr. Jart is awesome!!

Reply ButtonReply

Krissie

Okay, they’ve seriously been handing out the same products & curations for, like, 2 years.

Reply ButtonReply

Heather

I thought the EXACT same thing when I saw this!! How many times can they pawn off that PBJ stick?!? I have 2 already.

Reply ButtonReply

Ragan

I am glad I quit. I have one PBJ stick and it’s not even a very good product. Plus I hate dry shampoo and I don’t blow dry my hair.

I always click on these posts to see if I am going to regret canceling, but I never feel like I’m missing out.

Julie E

I think this one looks great! I love dry shampoo & can never get enough so I’m lucky there is guess! 🙂 May resub for this box…

Amanda

I am contemplating the same thing. Deciding to resub now and get this one for sure next month… looking to see if that $5 for the first box coupon is good but now I can’t find it.
