If you are a Birchbox Ace, you now can select your sample choice for the February 2017 Birchbox! (All other subscribers will have access to select their sample tomorrow - 1/27).
If you have been a Birchbox member for over 5 years, you may see two options for the Curated box (this option seems to only be visible on mobile, not desktop):
Birchbox ($15 per month) was one of the very first beauty subscription boxes—we’ve been reviewing it since 2012! Each month, subscribers get a new mix of 5 beauty samples, such as makeup, skincare, haircare, and fragrance items. Birchbox lets you choose whether you’d like a box of items picked ju... read more.

I will be a FIVE year subscriber in April, that’s commitment, y’all… But seriously? No secret #2 option? Oh well, my Sephora boxes have consistently been better than Birchbox and honestly, the awesome point system is what kept me with BB for so long. Maybe it’s time to cancel now that it no longer exists. BB used to have discount codes for milestone months that you’ve been subscribed with them for use in their store and I even got two free gifts in 2013 or 2014. I agree that all the emphasis is on new customers. How are you going to keep these long-term customers like this? I feel like I’m in 6th grade and my bestie is having a secret slumber party and didn’t invite me. Thinking about a break up with BB.

I think this kind of stinks. 5 years, seriously??? I have been a subscriber for a little over four years and I think that should be long enough. In the sub-box world I think a year constitutes a long term subscriber. Apparently you either have to be a new subscriber or a long, long, long time subscriber to benefit at Birchbox now!

I went to my account to make my seletion. And I have been a subscriber for over a year but I want to pick the 2nd curated box, and it doesn’t give me that option. So I guess I would have to have been a subscriber for 3 or 4 years, not sure how long I would have had to be subscribed to BB, but 15 months must not be long enough.

Well I know now why I wasn’t able to choose the 2nd box. I chatted with BB and was told it was for subscribers who’ve been a subscriber for 5+ years. So that’s a big disapointment. But oh well I guess.

I haven’t even received January. So frustrating. It’s been sitting in Las Vegas for the past three days. Maybe it found a hot poker table. Not a good way to start the year.

I would be upset if I were in your shoes too

I really wanted the Dr. Jart and dry shampoo from the previous spoiler…I was going to by a second box. I’m going to roll the dice and let Birchbox pick for me. If it’s decent I stay and if not see y’all…hello boxycharm. I currently have Ipsy, Birch, Allure, Julep, and Sephora. Allure and Sephora are superstars with Julep being great too. It’s time to thin the heard…

I’m going to let it roll also,I’ve been with them just a little more than a year, but for some reason I didn’t get an email as I always do telling me it was Time to pick. All the three choices are gone and I have all of the items in the curated box.Ive let it ride twice and both times sucked,so let the dice roll if I get crap I might cancel for right now.Im loving my Ipsy,Boxycharm ,allure, beautybox 5 and play.Ive cancelled all others .Oops forgot I still get julep and the leggings one.So as you can see I still get a bunch but I’ve cancelled beautyjoy, lip lovers, beauty fix and Glossybox because I’m on face and hair product overload, but one can never have too much makeup bahaaaaa

I am talking with them via chat and they are telling me that it isn’t a choice option.
“So unfortunately, that may have been a box that someone may have received or a box that we offer as a Discovery box but that is not a box we are offering for sample choice at this time. I’m so sorry for the confusion! There might be a miscommunication on their end, but this is not a box we are offering at this time. We only offer one curated box each month which is on the box customization site! I’m so sorry for the trouble!”

I’m again so glad I cancelled I was with them for 3 years & I too cancelled after the points change. If they have to give a box like this out ONLY if you’ve been with them 5 Years then they are pretty much almost to the bottom! I recieve better Play by Sephora then this. I believe this is just another Sales Tactic to people thinking I better stay it’s gonna………………. get better!???

What happened to the curated box that was spoiled a while back that included the Dr. kart Water Drop moisturizer? I love that product and I was so excited, and now it’s no where to be found in either curated box or the sample choices. None of the sample choices appeared in that spoiler pic so I don’t think it will be one of the box options.

I was excited for that too, and now it’s not an option? Was disappointed but shouldn’t be surprised. This company is not run well.

Just got the sample selection email, and they still have the Dr. Jart shown in the photo…whoops….

I’m a long term subscriber and was thrilled to see this special option this morning! Just when I was considering canceling, Birchbox pulls me right back into the fold. 🙂

How many 5+ year subscribers do they have left?
Not trying to be negative, but it seems like a lot of people were upset after points changed and dropped Birchbox.

That’s a nice box. I would rather have that one then the other crappy selections. But its nice to see them doing something nice for the long term subscribers.

Well that’s annoying, I’ve been a subscriber for four years and that wasn’t an option when I selected earlier.
