Hmm, like some of the other commenters I subscribed mostly because of the promo with the R+Co dry shampoo, Bumble & bumble cream, Dr. Jart and Acure.

I received my first box a couple of hours ago, and I’m completely deflated…

I got a LOC matte lipstick, not excited.. Supergoop CC cream, which is fine, but not great. It’s literally the color pink. I will have to use it solely as SPF and put other makeup on too even though it’s pretty thick on it’s own.
I got Embryolisse moisturizer which I have always wanted to try, but the sample is SO small. Waste of plastic, should be in a foil packet.
The only things that I’m moderately satisfied with are a tube of dr. Brandt exfoliator and the Wilma Schumann eye gels. Value-wise, those two times are about $23.60 – but given the choice, I would never pay $20 for 1/4 oz of exfoliant.

February is my second box and my gosh the samples are small. They are just as small as my index finger and I’m not joking. I’m giving them another month to prove me wrong

My very first Birchbox looks good: Whish shave cream, Marcelle 3-in-1 moisturizer, Wilma Schumann collagen eye pads, amika dry shampoo. Coastal Scents Smoky palette.

Does anyone know…I got a free mystery box deal. Does it come with my Jan box or later?

Ellie

Did you get the palette or just the samples??

My extra box shipped came before my first monthly box. Unfortunately the box was terrible. They sent me a BB crime in dark( I’m light), curl keeper hair gel ( I have stick straight hair, a mascara, and two tea packets. WTF? I must give them credit, I emailed them nicely and explained what happen and they sent me a new box with some nice items. They were extremely apologetic and the new items arrived 5 days later.

* BB cream- I can’t type to save my life today, grr.

These sub boxes need to quit it with the Manna Kadar already. I received a pressed eyeshadow. The color looked pretty but it crumbled in the compact. Not happy with the product being made in China either. I tend to avoid cosmetics not made in the USA.

I’ll probably go for the Laqa because I like the color, but overall, I’m not super enthused. The curated this month isn’t a good fit for me – I’ve gotten at least one of those PBJs before (maybe 2) and I am up to my eyebrows in eye creams and I don’t love getting perfumes in general. I wouldn’t mind the fruit peel.

For the January box, I didn’t pick anything. I let Birch do it for me. And my box was awesome!! I plan to do the same for February, and I’m so excited I can’t wait!

Im a new Birchbox subscriber. If I want the whole box to be a surprise, is one of the items still going to be one of the three sample choices? Just asking because I’m not excited about any of these 3 Lip products.

Dena

For the January box I didn’t get any of the picks that were offered. For my February box I got both the Mana Kadar and the Dr Lipp balm. So it just depends on what they chose for us.

Sharon

I gave them another month after my annual subscription expired but I’m done after 24 boxes. I just canceled – I get better samples with my other 2 boxes (Allure and Sephora)

Monique

I’m canceling after two months. I’ll pay the extra and try Boxycharm. The previous spoiler made the curated box worth it, now the curated and sample choices are terrible. Nope, I’m out.

Carrie

After a 2 years, I’m also canceling. February will be my last box.

Also…the berry stain would be lovely if it wasn’t so bloody dark! And pb&j enough already! It’s made in China and this would make my third from birchbox.

I’ve just officially cancelled my Birchbox after receiving an even 20 boxes. Sometimes the samples where weak but really it was the fact that too many products was either just not for me or I was allergic to an ingredient or two. Might re-subscribe at a later time but for now I’ve decided to see how Sephora goes for me.

Very disappointed in the choices. Last month, I got nothing in my box I will use. It looks like the same for this month. It might be time to cancel after being a subscriber since the beginning.

Danielle

If you pick a sample, what else comes in the box?

Reply ButtonReply

Luna

4 to 6 more products Birchbox picks out for you.

I just went into my account to cancel, and the “Considering closing the lid on next month’s box? Hold on a sec…” image still shows the curated box spoiler from a couple weeks ago with the R+Co dry shampoo and Dr. Jart. Ugh! Cancelled. I just signed up for Birchbox in November. My first personalized box was great, the second was good, January was crap. I was going to cancel after my January box arrived until I saw the February curated box and it looked fantastic. Now that they’ve changed it, I’m out!

What happened to the Dr. Jart+ Water Drop and R+Co – DEATH VALLEY Dry Shampoo?? Why was that in the prior curated box “reveal” and now it’s replaced by perfume and eye cream? Basically switched out 2 things I will use for 2 things I won’t use. Booo!!

I posted this below, but the spoiler Liz released earlier wasn’t an official spoiler from Birchbox, just a leaked promo pic for this month. Sometimes the leaked pics are of the actual curated box, but they’re not always accurate.

Tarah

Same! I just subscribed for those 2! Cancelling now. Lame

I want the LAQA Ninza lip butter!! I canceled in Dec and did not miss it last month, after having been a subscriber for several years. I just have WAY too many beauty products, and especially lip stuff, which is my kryptonite. Will have to resist subscribing as I know I would end up with 3-4 items I don’t even use…

Definitely getting the curated box box this time! It looks great.

Luna

This will be my last box in my annual subscription, and I don’t plan on renewing (however, I will most likely still purchase the curated boxes if they’re for sale). I have two subs, and I’ve done the sample pick for both the past two months, and my boxes were pretty awesome… so, I think I’m going to do sample pick and choose the Dr. Lipp and LACA & Co lip products for my boxes, and purchase the curated (if it’s for sale). Hopefully, my sub will go out with a bang! (it’s funny, because my Ipsy sub ends in February too, and it wasn’t only until my December bag when they started to get really good too! Figures… right when I’m going to cancel. Ha!)

I like it! I’d be happy with either the lip butter or balm–the lip stain color looks so much like everything else I own. And I haven’t warmed to the Manna Kadar brand.

Even the curated box looks pretty good. I’m happy.

What happened to the Dr Jart Water Drop shown in the Feb spoilers. Only reason I signed up and now it’s not available. Will be cancelling.

Reply ButtonReply

Sharon

I think that was a January spoiler.

Reply ButtonReply

Amber

Wow, that’s pretty crappy of them. I’d be ticked off. They got rid of the water drop and the dry shampoo, and put in an eye cream and perfume? gross

Reply ButtonReply

Geena

Yeah, my thoughts on the curated box exactly – the leaked spoiler with the water drop and dry shampoo was WAY better (though I would have been cool with them replacing the Bumble and Bumble with the eye cream personally.)

Guess I’ll be picking the Dr. Lipp and hoping for the best…

Amanda P

It wasn’t an official spoiler from Birchbox, just a leaked promo pic for this month. Sometimes the leaked pics are of the actual curated box, but they’re not always accurate.

Sharon

A little different this time… Shocking!

Don’t love any of these….doing a happy dance that I canceled yesterday!!! 😃
