As always, we have our trusty Luke's Diner menu to serve as our information card. All the items are listed out, as well as some recommendations. They mention the new box design as well as the Coffee Club (Check out our review of the Stars Hollow Coffee Club!).

Bali's Coffee Candy - Value $2.11

The first item I dug into was this bag of coffee candy. These definitely remind me of Werther's Original candy but with a nice, strong coffee flavor. While the taste is strong, I didn't find it overpowering. There's caramel in these too so the coffee flavor isn't bitter. If you are a fan of coffee and/or caramel candy, you'll probably love these.

I like that the ingredients in these candies were simple  (coconut oil, caramel, salt, cane sugar, milk powder, glucose, & coffee extract) and the flavor comes from Arabica coffee. If you're craving coffee flavor without wanting to drink a whole cup, these did the trick for me. This package has 42 individually wrapped pieces so this should last me for a while!

Howl by Allen Ginsberg - Value $7.87 on Amazon (retail price $7.95)

Howl was the book that Jess stole from Rory's book collection, only to return it with some notes in the margins. It's our first glimpse into Jess having interests outside of being Stars Hollow's bad boy and gives him a way to connect with Rory. It's the first time we see them bond over a book so it's a great addition to this box! I haven't read Howl is years so this was a nice way to revisit Ginsberg.

Exclusive Stars Hollow, CT Raglan Shirt - Listed Value $34.95

Our exclusive item for this box is the Stars Hollow Raglan Shirt. It has Stars Hollow with the year it was founded and the simple design works for me. I don't usually prefer graphic tees or clothing items that are too specific to a fandom but this shirt is cute and wearable for me. The material is soft and the baseball tee gives me Jess vibes.

Bonus Bookmark!

This box included a bonus book mark which goes perfectly with Howl. It includes a quote from Rory's valedictorian speech, "I live in two worlds. One is a world of books".  The illustration of Rory wearing a Stars Hollow Monthly shirt while holding a cup of coffee (of course!) is really cute.

Verdict: As always, we see the themes of coffee and books in this box. I really liked having a book from the show in the box and it inspired me to get back into one of those "Rory Gilmore Reading Challenges". The bonus bookmark and coffee candies were great compliments to the book. Clothing items in subscription boxes always feel tricky to me because they're automatically the big ticket item and if you don't love it or it doesn't fit, it can feel like a big loss. This shirt is an exclusive and the value is over the cost of the box. I personally like the design of the shirt and will wear it so that value is there for me. As a #TeamJess girl, this box felt like a Jess Mariano starter kit and I really enjoyed it!

I received a yellow and white knit scarf in my December box…….not sure why? Possibly because Lorelai wore some crazy scarfs through out the years? Or did they throw a random item in my box?

This was the November box.

Disappointed they didn’t add something that said “I smell snow” for the winter box. Did anyone else watch A
Year in the Life??? They made it a huge cliff hanger!

The next box is supposed to have a “Lorelai” feel so maybe we’ll get an “I smell snow” item there! I really liked A Year in the Life, it was so nice to revisit all the characters. And yeah, that cliffhanger!!!

Isn’t this the November box? I guess I was put off when I received mine because I expected the premier month one to be the best and this feels like an afterthought.

This is the November box, thanks for the catch! I blame my mistake on holiday craziness 🙂

Alex

I totally want that shirt.

I was so hoping to love this sub, but no. It seems like every box will be a one ticket item like a book(that I already own) or a gimmicky T-shirt. Still love the idea! Hopefully, I am in the minority.
