The bag came with this information card, which included more information on the products (plus some key ingredients and/or intended effects). This is nice since most of the masks only have directions/ingredients in Korean.

tutiimask-november-2016-3step

AHN 3 Step Multi-Whitening Soothing Mask – Value $1.27

I can’t find much about the ingredients for this one. Step 1 is a swab (I do remember reading on the package, I think, that there are some AHAs like glycolic acid in the swab solution) that you apply to cleansed skin. Step 2 is a serum that is supposed to be whitening or brightening, and step 3 is a mask that you apply after doing steps 1 and 2. I used this on a weekend in the evening and it was a great way to relax. If they could find a way to make the swab bigger (it is bigger than a Q-tip but less than half the size of a cotton ball) I would be very excited.

Skinlite Dual Wellbeing Pack – Value $0.70

The first step here is a peeling gel. It was a good peeling gel but not the most effective I have ever used. I do think it worked reasonably well, though. The second step is a wash-off mask that includes some vitamins like A, C, and E, which have antioxidant properties, and B3, which is niacinamide and can even out skin tone. I used this in the shower so I could let it sit on my skin while I also did a hair mask (multi-tasking!) and it seemed fine as long as I kept my face out of the water while I was letting it do its work.

RiRe Real Nature Mask Pack in Pearl – Value $2.90

This has aloe, green tea, witch hazel, and cucumber. These are all soothing, plus the aloe is moisturizing and the green tea has antioxidants. This also has niacinamide, which helps even skin tone, and pearl extract. Although straight up pearl powder wouldn’t penetrate the skin, an extract could, and pearls have amino acids, minerals, and antioxidant properties.

tutiimask-november-2016-pig

ESL Real Essential Sheet Mask with Pig Collagen – Value $1.22

I couldn’t find this for sale from a U.S. site so I calculated the value based on the exchange rate from this site in Hong Kong. It should be pretty obvious that the active ingredient here is pig collagen (subscribers could have received a horse oil mask instead). There is something slightly disturbing to me about the cute little pig on the front, knowing that his relatives’ connective tissue was hydrolyzed to make this mask…

Anyway, collagen can be pretty moisturizing because, although it does not penetrate the skin, it hangs on to moisture at the outer layer of skin. I will admit I didn’t make notes as I used this month’s masks, but I seem to recall this one having an extremely large nose flap compared to other sheet masks.

Berrisom Jeju Real Skingel Mask in Cactus – Value $2.78

One thing cactus is really good at, from a biological perspective, is holding on to water! So I felt like the cactus extract in this mask was very moisturizing. It has been cold and dry where I live (mostly) and my skin is not faring well, so this came around at the right time.

tutiimask-november-2016-programming

Fix & Tox S. Pore Unit Programming Mask – Value $1.75

This has witch hazel which I have always loved for its toning benefits (and which is wonderful in a pore-centered mask!). This also has anti-inflammatory properties thanks to the cornflower extract it contains, plus Bambusa vulgaris which is a source of silica, which *may* stimulate collagen and elastin production. I can’t assess that particular aspect after using one mask only, but I do think this was good for toning, for sure.

Milatte Fashiony Pearl Mask Sheet – Value $2.50

I talked about pearl extract a bit already up above. This is another mask containing pearl extract. The effects are a bit difficult to assess after only one use, but I do think this stayed on my face well and it was definitely refreshing and non-irritating. I think I want to try a multi-mask trial of pearl extract masks to see how they perform over time.

Verdict: I calculated a value of about $13.12 for the November 2016 TutiiMask. Although that is only a little over the cost of the subscription, there are a couple of things to keep in mind:

  1. You’ll notice I had trouble finding some of the masks available for sale in the US. So there is some value to getting an item available normally only overseas.
  2. You’ll notice that, for the items I did find, they were available from eBay or more obscure online retailers or directly from Korea (probably with a minimum order and possibly a shipping charge).  So take the values listed above with a grain of salt!

Anyway, I was happy with this month. I think all the items and many of the brands were new to me and there are a couple I would consider going back and buying again in larger amounts to do a long-term trial.

I loved my bag in November! I got the Horse Oil mask and, dude, I was seriously disturbed, BUT it smelled AMAZING and I ended up really loving it! 🙂 Going to try and hunt that bad boy down. lol I also recieved the Fix and Tox pore mask and really enjoyed that one, as well. 🙂 I’ve been a subscriber for a few months and, honestly, there haven’t been many masks that I’ve disliked and their customer service is impeccable! 🙂 Thank you for reviewing this maks bag!!
