Ooh yeah, L’Occitane’s marketing department hasn’t thought this through. I love L’Occitane as a brand, but not all their products are worth the money. For $500, you can just make several purchases throughout the year and use free samples to guide your next purchase, and be happier with what you get. I’m not sure who the target market for this “deal” is, but it’s definitely not me. Maybe emotionally distant rich parents or cheating husbands?

Just saying NO to this one…Lovely products, but lots of things I wouldn’t use.

Ok I’ve never used their line and I am willing to spend more money for quality products but.. is this brand really that good? I’m really wondering so if all you Lo’ users are listening please let Me know your line review and who you would compare them to. I just feel like at $80 a month i would rather spend it on Kate Somerville, Caudalie, Lush, Sunday Riley or heck I could even buy La Mer at that price.

Many many years ago they had “Olive” products, I bought the bath oil (or bath something), it was the best thing I have ever used in my life!!! Nothing has ever even come close. My husband even used it, it was wonderful. Great scent, made your skin feel soft, etc…I haven’t looked in a while but last time I looked I didn’t see any “Olive” products. 🙁

I would skip most of the products have been greasy and not shown much benefit. I love their soaps though.

What happened to the L’occibox?
I’ve been waiting for them to come out with another… Does anyone else remember about two years ago.. L’occitane released a spring box with Sugarfina brand champagne gummy bears? I believe it was a gift with purchase item but seriously… that was great <3

I was super excited about this…until I saw the price. $500 up front? I know L’occi products generally tend to be on the more expensive side, but c’mon. Even if they had done around $80 per month where you could actually pay monthly, that still seems more reasonable than having to shell out that much money up front, especially considering how close to Christmas it is.

Love reading the comments and I have the same “stash” as referenced above. This one is lovely but too much for me upfront! Ake thanks for researching further that helps. They always do great GOP so think I will stick with that though I wonder if they will include “extras” monthly?

$500 upfront is pretty ambitious. Even $83 for monthly beauty supplies is too much. I don’t think their marketing department thought it through. Definitely a pass. On the other hand I have 7 subs that cost way more $83 but at least I get to try different products.

Thanks for posting the boxes, Liz! I don’t see the December box online, but the others are available on their site under slightly different names.
January – Nourishing Shea Butter Gift $72 (RV $101.50)
February – Precious Immortelle Gift $102 (RV $137.50)
March – Delicious Almond Gift $75 (RV $105.50)
April – Lucious Beauty Oils Gift $84 (RV $121.50)
May – Invigorating Verbena Gift $72 (RV $96)
It looks like it might be slightly cheaper to just buy the boxes yourself. Plus that way you could take advantage of multiple free gifts with purchase that are always offered. But I do see the appeal of the sub if you were giving it as a gift.

Same here. I thought it might be a pricier sub, but $500 is steep for me.

Wow, well they definitely picked the wrong time for me as far as financially. I’d think this would be a bad time for anyone to suddenly front 500$. Post-Black-Friday and still tryna afford Christmas presents? I can’t say that I would pass this up maybe if it were 83$. But not having any guarantee that the first box might/might not blow it out of the water. And then the subsequent boxes decline in usefulness or price vs. value. It’s why I rarely buy pre-paid sub boxes. Because if it all goes to you-know-what , 🎵I got nobody to blame but me. 🎵
I don’t like surprises ironically ;coming from someone that subbed to practically everything there was out there at one point. But especially not the ones that involve my money being wasted. (*cough* TooFaced CyberFail *cough*) just can’t do 500$. Not enough reward for risk.
And I’m currently shopping for my Niece and Nephew. And quite frankly have way more fun shopping for other people than myself. Always have been that way. So it’s a blast picking out Lego Sets and Princess outfits & Doc McStuffins various paraphernalia. And I don’t mind the blast to my wallet because kids have a unique way of making you feel like you’re the best person in the whole world to have gotten them that 25$ set-of-something. They haven’t lost the grateful-overly-excited-downright-cloud-9 perception on the little things in life. That you could spend 200$ for an adult, and not get even a reaction.

I love this brand but I have spent so much money, I just don’t have the $500 right now. (I may be guilty of creating a huge Amazon cart in anticipation of my holiday bonus, then clicking “buy” as soon as the bonus funds hit my account…)

Pft , no shame. I always have something in my cart. I have about 20 simultaneous lists that I keep adding to. I do rigorous research and reviewing before I purchase anything over 20$. So usually I’ll stalk something for like 6 months to a year. And then when it finally goes on sale, I pounce. Like a Puma. Or another pouncing animal that I can’t think of.
But yeah now I think I’m referring more to my bazillion products loved on Sephora. But like, their “one-list-not-compartmentalizing-in-any-organized-manner-and-doesn’t-even-show-your-whole-list” thing doesn’t work for me. So I take screen shots of each individual product i “loved” and order, arrange, group and label them all myself.
That way I always have a list of “gotta get to 25/35$ for that GWP 5-10$ extras” Especially for the GWP that sell out instantly. And you like, have to come prepared with several options already handy. Because you don’t.have.time to think. Just act. / “need travel sizes that I don’t want to buy full-sizes in” / “need these but too cheap to let you take my money….»»…yet. ” /& a “realistically priced totally feasible goal” and of course the “absolutely unachievable outlandishly high priced ‘wants’ that you will never ever have. But so fun to drool and dream (simultaneously of course) about the fantasy world in which you can afford that s#%^” counterpart.
And does anyone else have a handmade list of codes so that when immediately needing to check out rapidly you have a source to refer to? And don’t have to go digging through 25 pages of people’s chatting to find one. Then you find one and your purchase is sold out. I do hope that isn’t just me. But Black Friday preview I was like no, if I’m gonna do this, ain’t nobody got Tiime ‘fo ‘dat.

No, no, you are sooooo not alone in doing that! I refuse to buy anything from Sephora without a promo code, just on general principle, and there is never any time to go searching for a good one when checking out!

This looks fabulous but I would need to know the value of items received for the cost. Its a lot of money!

Oh, I love L’Occitane and have been hoping they’d do a sub! But I was thinking more along the lines of the old L’Occi Box with samples and minis. I definitely vote for a review so I can live vicariously through you!

Isn’t it so much better when *other* people get disappointing items and have spent their money? I loved their little box with the five million samples of lotion. They make some really good hand lotion! If they weren’t such tiny tubes I totally would use as body lotion.
But since I’m obsessed with anything mini/travel/compact/deluxe/GWP samples andor perfumes, cosmetics, skincare, etc… I’m a lot more apt to throw 25$ at a special/sale/deal than to fork over 500$ in a lump sum.
I think I have enough lip gloss, perfumes, face wash, deodorant, makeup, mascara, brow and GWP minis to supply an army. And I’m kinda not ashamed either. 😁

Ha!!! LaurenH, I am in the same boat with the overflow of really good full-sized products. I found a great way to find a home for some of them, though…I was doing a swap and found out that the swapper was in the military, so I sent her a really nice stash in addition to what we were swapping. Wasn’t she surprised? It made me happy, and some of my hoard found a good home.

Lauren H your last statement is soooooooo relatable! I just burst out laughing and had to explain to my husband I was laughing at something he couldn’t possibly understand, even if I tried really hard to explain.
