Included in the package was a nice note highlighting Lillypost’s favorites this month.

Beastly Babies by Ellen Jackson – $17.09 on Amazon (retail price $17.99)

This book is a fabulously illustrated showcase of all different types of animal babies. The rhyming text was fun to read and my son and I especially loved the large cartoonish eyes that Brendan Wenzel used for each animal. This one was a hit!

I Love You Already! by Jory John – $14.23 on Amazon (retail price $17.99)

Bear is looking forward to spending a peaceful day at home alone. Duck is excited to go on a walk with bear. There is a lot of dialogue back and forth between the two characters showing their very opposing personalities. While parts of the book were humorous I felt it fell a bit flat.

What a Wonderful World by Bob Thiele – Value $12.61 on Amazon (retail price $17.99)

This book is comprised of the lyrics to the Bob Thiele and George David Weiss song (as sung by Louis Armstrong) and is an absolutely stunning piece of artwork. Tip Hopgood’s folk art type pictures with vivid colors blew me away. I think this book could easily be turned into an art lesson.

Wide Awake Jake by Rachel Elliot – Retail Price $16.99 (no longer in print)

Jake is having trouble falling asleep. Dad isn’t much help at all while his mom offers lots of suggestions, like pretending to be a bird in his nest. Nothing seems to work though until she sweetly tucks him in. I wish this book didn’t portray the father as so helpless.

As a special bonus, Lillypost added three of their unique foxes on cardstock. These could be framed as some very fun room décor.

Verdict: The value this month was about $61 and is well over the cost of the box. I also appreciate the fact that each book is individually wrapped and the nameplate fox stickers. Our favorite titles this month were: What a Wonderful World and Beastly Babies.
