I Am Cow, Hear Me Moo! by Jill Esbaum - Value $14.36 on Amazon (retail price $16.99)
This is a fun rhyming tale about a bragging cow who boasts she’s afraid of nothing. However, a trip alone in the deep dark woods has her second-guessing herself. This story is a conversation starter about being boastful and also facing your fears.
While I love the story, the book itself came quite damaged in the lower right corner which was disappointing. The wrapping paper wasn’t ripped so it seems the book was packed this way (not damaged in transit).
The Knights Before Christmas by Joan Holub - Value $14.77 on Amazon (retail price $16.99)
This rewritten spoof of Clement Moore’s poem is entertaining for any little knight lover. We found it appealing and enjoyed the rhyming wordplay. It’s a cute romp.
Verdict: The retail value this month is over $29 which I’m happy with. We enjoyed both books this month equally. Getting two new hardcover gift-wrapped books on the doorstep is always a treat for my kids (and me too!). I recommend this subscription for little literary lovers.
