I think every child needs to know about the Sydney Opera House - it's a huge cultural icon! My eight-year-old did not, so it was fun to share this architectural marvel with him. I didn't know the architect was Danish, but it totally makes sense!
The reverse side of each postcard is in postcard format but filled with interesting facts about the topic. This seems to be written at a level that would be great for preschool and early grade school students to read with (or to) their parents.
There is also a website address for their online content. We took a peek and found that there is tons of information on their site about all kinds of fascinating topics!
Who would have guessed that donuts have been around since the 16th century? Wow. My son and I both found this topic really interesting. It also made us hungry!
It's a chocolate moose! This postcard is all about Lenny, the world's largest chocolate animal sculpture. He lives in a candy shop in Maine, and they have to actually keep it cool inside year-round to keep him from melting! How funny!
This card is all about the Danxia landform in China. It's so beautiful! The back describes how it was formed and what it is made of. My son and I both love to travel, and we hope we get to see it someday.
Verdict: We have been receiving Kiwibop Postcard Pals for a while now, and we really enjoy it! The postcards are beautiful and the topics are really interesting. They have a massive array of topics, both on the cards they send and in their online content. This subscription is also very inexpensive, and kids love getting mail, so I think it would make a wonderful gift subscription for a special child in your life.
