This box always comes with a nicely written explanation of all the items you'll get in the box. (If you know French, it's written in that language on the back!) One thing I noticed was that, in other boxes, this sheet was magazine-page glossy, whereas this sheet was just printed on regular paper. Does that make for a less polished experience? I don't think so. I do wonder what motivated the change. Is this paper choice is more cost effective (or more importantly, environmentally effective)?

Apple Illusion 24 Hour Moisturizing Butter for the Body, 3.3 fl oz. - Value $4.00

This body butter has a really strong scent. I know Fruits & Passion is all about natural ingredients and fragrances, but this product had the same level of candy-sweet smell as other more mainstream products I've encountered. There was something very floral about the sweet apple fragrance, too, which I liked. The product itself is very dreamy. It's true to its name—the texture is very thick and buttery smooth. The claim on the label is that it lasts 24 hours, but after an afternoon in the cool, late-fall air, my hands felt dry as usual. Still, I could see using this as I would any other hand lotion around the house.

Apple Illusion Foaming Bath, 10.1 fl oz. - Value $14.50

This product had the same scent as the body butter, and just as strong. When I poured it in the tub, hints of the apple smell permeated my whole one-bedroom apartment. The iridescent formula looks pretty dreamy in its bottle, and I liked that there was a very, very faint pinkness in the bubbles it created. I will say that apart from the fragrance, this bubble bath didn't offer anything that unique. I have trouble thinking that the $14.50 price is fair.

Cucina Sea Salt and Amalfi Lemon Nourishing Hand Butter, 2.0 fl oz. - Value $12.50

This was a totally different scent profile than the apple items in the box. I'm not sure I got the Amalfi Lemon nor the Sea Salt very distinctly, but the fragrance, in general, is very, very fresh. It's not as strong as the apple scent, either. The lotion itself is white and of a pretty average consistency (not runny or particularly thick). And in general, it's a pretty run-of-the-mill lotion. I put this on my hands after using some Cucina soap (from a previous Fruits&Passion box!) to wash my dishes, and though I used a pretty copious amount, I felt like it only lasted for about a half an hour before I felt like I could use some more. Again, I was kind of surprised at the price this was listed at given that it was a pretty average (not bad, just average) product.

Bath Pillow - List price $7.50

This little pillow was a nice surprise. It's a cute complement to the bubble bath in the box. I was surprised that the suction cups actually held pretty well to the side of my tub. It was pretty comfortable, or at least comfier than putting my head against by bathtub/shower wall. And because the suction cups are on little hoop-like straps, it was easy to hang this guy up with my loofahs to air dry when I was done. The price seems fair, too, for what it is.

Vitamin E Hydro Gel Face Mask - Value $3.00

Okay, so I love face masks. I think they're so fun, and they're a great way to feel like you're pampering yourself without having to spend a bunch of money nor energy. Just line up the cotton-y mask with your face, and you're set. However. I've yet to find a mask that really... does anything lasting for my skin. This mask was dripping with lots of lightweight, fresh-smelling serum. But while it felt nice and cool and a bit moisturizing on my dry, post-shower face, the effects didn't last very long. The formula did soak into my skin nicely, but I wish there would've been more of an impact.

Light Hydrating Face Cream, 1.69 fl oz. - Value $25.50

This cream looks really sophisticated. It presents itself like a name-brand item at Sephora, so I was excited to see what it could do. The "cream" is actually more like a milky, mint-green gel. It comes with a little spatula to keep your fingers out of the process. I found that I usually needed about two spatula's worth (one for either side of my face), if just because this formula soaks in really fast. There's a menthol quality to the formula, so it's very cooling and soothing as it goes on. I used this in the morning and at night for a few days. My T-zone still couldn't decide if it was dry or oily (it's always been finicky), but my cheeks and such were all very happy, soft, and fresh feeling.

Verdict: I like the plant-based products Fruits & Passion provides in the Live box, but I wish they were more distinctive in how well they worked, not just in what goes into them. Folks who really like shopping-mall scented body products but feel weird about the chemicals being used will probably love the more natural products in this box. All together, the items here total about $67.00, so the $39.00 box is well worth what you pay for. If you're committed to using more natural products but don't want to say goodbye to your favorite fragrances, nor spend too much time hunting for new options, this is probably a convenient box for you!

These prices seem pretty reasonable to me for something that isn’t coming from a low name brand.

I don’t think this box is available anymore as the link doesn’t work and nothing on the website regarding subscription boxes.

I had the same comment last month, with no reply. I can’t even find the one-time $45 boxes anymore. You’re right, the links just take me to the home page of the website. Has anyone been able to subscribe recently?

So sorry – I just saw this and I can’t find the subscriptions anywhere on their site anymore. I’m going to reach out to customer care and see if they are doing away with this sub. Sorry again!

What does it mean for a product to be ‘dreamy’?

Hi Melissa! Maybe I got a little too poetic there, haha. That cream was really rich and luxurious, and felt great rubbing into my dry skin. Because the consistency was so nice, I felt more like I was pampering myself than I would have if I was using any old lotion. Does that help? Thanks for reading!
