This box did not come with an information card but did have a sample menu with some of the items from the box as well as a meal planning worksheet.

Power Crunch Protein Energy Bar in Original French Vanilla Crème (1.4 oz) – Value $1.48

I was really looking forward to this because it looked like (from the label) wafer cookies coated in some kind of candy coating.  Alas, it was crushed to bits in the package.  (I ate a few of the bits and they were good.) I would recommend this if you do not like the texture of other protein bars, as it is a little different. JJust don’t order it at the same time as something heavy.

RxBar in Blueberry (1.83 oz) – Value $2.17

I’ve had these from subscription boxes before. I love the simplicity of the ingredients list, which is advertised on the front of the package. (These are obviously not vegan.)

Kay’s Naturals Protein Cereal in French Vanilla (1.2 oz) – Value $1.25

This cereal is gluten free and a bit crunchy, but honestly not too bad. You can eat it as a snack if you want, you don’t have to have it with milk in the traditional way. This is a fitness subscription box mainstay.

Oatmeal Unleashed in Peach Vanilla Almond (2.3 oz) – Value $1.89

This is a new brand for me. I took it to work one day last week when I was in a hurry and filled it from the hot water machine there. It had a similar texture to other oatmeals in single-serve cartons like this and I enjoyed the peach vanilla almond flavor.

KIND Healthy Grains Vanilla Blueberry Clusters with Flax Seeds (11 oz) – Value $5.50

I have seen this in Whole Foods but hadn’t tried it before now. This is quite a generous amount (actually, it is a full-sized package). When I get granola, I usually bake with it. I also found this went nicely on top of pancakes with some blueberry syrup.

P28 High Protein Peanut Spread (16 oz) – Value $9.99

My husband and I eat a lot of peanut butter so this was appreciated. It has added whey protein (so it contains dairy) and worked pretty well on whole wheat bread. They have a whole bunch of other flavors I’d also like to try.

Buff Bake Protein Cookie in Birthday Cake (2.8 oz) – Value $2.63

This had much more of the texture of an energy bar (but twice the calories of a typical one) than a cookie. It was good, but I don’t know that I would regularly seek these out.

Yogi Tea in Honey Lavender for Stress Relief (3 bags) – Value $0.92

Yay for Yogi Tea that doesn’t contain licorice. (Seriously, licorice has put me off most Yogi Teas because it is an acquired taste that I have just not acquired.) I like having this one before bed.

Bodyfuelbox Daily Cleanse (60 capsules) – Value $25?

I wasn’t able to try this because it’s not vegetarian. I am typically not a fan of cleanses as I believe the whole concept is scientifically unsound, but this has a lot of fiber and other digestive support ingredients and is unlikely to do any harm. I’ll pass this along to someone who is able to use it. (I can’t find a place to buy this brand of products separately online, so the value is an estimate based on products with similar ingredients I found elsewhere online.)

Verdict: I calculated a value a little bit above $50 for the November Bodyfuelbox. Much of that is dependent upon the value of the cleanse capsules which, unfortunately, I had to estimate. I would say the value does meet the cost of the subscription although I don’t think it really hits the $75 in promised value indicated on the box’s website.

I would say this box is quite similar to what PrettyFit was before they switched from a subscription box model to an e-commerce model, so if you used to get PrettyFit and were looking for a replacement, this is the closest I have found, both in terms of types of products offered and value.  Even though it is marketed towards women, the products I’ve seen so far are suitable for both men and women.  You can skip months by contacting them via email, which is nice.  Please note they do not appear to cater to dietary needs/preferences at this time.
