Apples and Pumpkins by Anne Rockwell - $14.24 on Amazon (retail price $14.99)
Apples and Pumpkins is a family-centered seasonal story that focuses on a little girl going apple picking and to the pumpkin patch with her family. It is a short story which makes it ideal for pre-school aged children, even toddlers. My daughter and I enjoyed this gentle tale together and then discussed our own family trip to the apple orchard last month.
If All the Animals Came Inside by Eric Pinder- $16.14 on Amazon (retail price $17.99)
This book is a fun-filled rhyming romp! I love the brightly colored illustrations from Marc Brown. This story about all the crazy trouble that would ensue if you brought wild animals inside your house had my kids in hysterics. This one was a big hit at our house and a book I’ve never heard of before.
Verdict: The retail value this month is over $30 which I’m very happy with. We especially enjoyed If All the Animals Came Inside, but Apples and Pumpkins was a nice selection too! As usual, it was a fun treat to get two new hardcover gift-wrapped books on the doorstep. Children’s book subscription boxes make fabulous gifts and I definitely recommend Lil' Bear Book Club for the little book lover in your life.
