I want to see what the sample choices will be this month. I’m considering canceling. Was very unimpressed with my November box. It was my 5th box, and I’m starting to realize that I have liked about less than half of the products I have received since I started. My November box came with some of the tiniest samples I’ve ever seen.

Sadly, the TWOFORONE code does not work

This looks like a great box to me. I love mini shampoos and conditioners. They are wonderful to have on hand to take on trips, so you don’t have to carry big heavy bottles. Primers are wonderful to get because they can be so expensive and I use primers everyday.

I have been getting the mystery box with every purchase even the $5 purchase I made with the 50 points last week aces had to use them within a few days but I got a nice hair mask that was $5 and used Mysterybox for my promo and got five great items one of the items I have gotten before but loved if you are an ace you don’t get charged shipping ever do maybe that’s why you were charged the $5 for the curated box?

I believe the sample on the left is Ipkin Radiant Primer. I love it.

What is different about BB’s curated box vs. the regular box in regards to how the products are chosen? That is, aren’t all subscription boxes of all kinds curated? They have people who decide what will be going in the boxes each month. Is it that the curated boxes are “We think these products are extra good and you’ll love them an extra lot” and the regular boxes are “These are the products sent to us by companies who want to be in our box and they seem pretty good”?
I started BB in September, and have been underwhelmed but continued, hoping it would get better since it has such a good reputation. Looks like December will probably be my last box.

That’s true… all subscription boxes where the company picks the products for you are “curated”. However, in the case of Birchbox, the company & subscribers consider the box where all 5 products are revealed, and which everybody will get if they choose to receive that box, as “curated”. Subscribers call the box where they choose one sample, and let BB select the other four samples, as their “sample pick” box. I can’t recall if I’ve seen a name for the box where subscribers don’t pick anything, and let BB choose everything. But, by definition that is a curated box, but I think I’ve seen it referred to as a “surprise” box.

I started in September as well and just cancelled today after the horrible box I got today. Such a joke. Ugh

Me too! I felt this time’s box was a joke – I immediately went online and cancelled my subscription. I was subscribed for 5 months though – did receive some good products. But this time’s box – tinnnyyyy samples except for one -I could get better gift boxes put together somewhere else. I’m out.

This is my first month without BB and this does not give me any regrets.

I love to hate on Birchbox, but honestly, this looks like a nicely put together box, and follows their theme really well. the IPKN primer is great, and it’s been over a year since we got it the first time. LOC isn’t bad, although they like to include it often, they at least switch up shades and types of product. The others I’ve never tried or heard of, so it seems like they’re making an effort for a comeback.

May be time for a BB break on this note.

I love to get primer and I feel like I hardly ever do, and I love the LOC shadow sticks too, so I might go curated even though I don’t typically use the shampoo/conditioner samples.

I always get both. You can search for the curated box by looking for one of the products in it. It will say 15.00 but when it is in the basket, 5 comes off for subscribers.

I have two separate accounts so I can always get a curated box and a sample pick box, but I think when my annual is up, I’ll just keep one account and do the sample pick, and hope that the curated box will be for sale. At least that way I can get all of my points into one account (I just cashed out all of my points in my secondary account to get the most recent LE box for $6! 🙂 ).
Krista
thanks! I did that for one of the first times with the October box and got the mystery box deal with it and it was a great deal! 2 boxes for $10 and several things I really liked, I was so happy 🙂

It looks to be an IPKIN product, but I don’t know which. I’ve sampled their flash primer, and I like it.

IPKN New York Radiant Primer on left?

Yup def IPKN primer. It’s great. It was in the Korean Beauty box. I actually got a full size after as it works as a primer and it works nice just alone to brighten complexion.
So two definite getting rid of old stock. So glad I cancelled.

What’s that little purple patterned circle off to the left side? A compact mirror? That would be cute!
