I’m so happy I cancelled. For too many months, the boxes have been disappointing with small samples, and I’m seeing the same samples over and over again. Sephora Play is so much better.

Chose the curated box, the double rose cream is the best smelling/feeling moisturizer I’ve used yet. It goes on matte so perect for oily skin.

Dianne

I cancelled then I changed my mind a day later and resubscribe and used the code precisely for the eyeliner. I used the same email and it worked with the code. I keep seeing the TV commercials with Birchbox after I cancelled. I cancelled Play by Sephora again and waiting awhile before a resubscribe again.

Cancelled again. Boring month

Is it just me or have we seen all this before a hundred times? So boring. Only 5 more mos til my annual is up. I guess I’ll pick the shell colored LOC shadow stick because it can be used as an eye shadow primer, but I’m sure not excited. lol

The curated box is pretty underwhelming.

I do like the LOC Shadow Sticks. I don’t recall seeing that shade so I’ve either overlooked it in the past or it’s a new color. I like using the lighter shades of this product in the inner corner or my eye to brighten because they go on super quick. I may go with this option (after I check my eye shadow drawer to see if I do in fact already have this color!).

I’m a new subscriber and nothing at all appeals to me! I do not want any of the sample choice, nor do I want anything in curated. If you do not pick anything, do you always get at least one of the 3 sample choice items? I’m highly considering cancelling after only 3 months.

I am considering cancelling too, after 2 boxes! Nothing seems interesting to me at all this month…

I felt that way with my first couple boxes, but my boxes got better after like the fourth month. I stayed subscribed for 10 months and ended up with a pretty good collection of things. Eye shadow blush duo’s, mascaras, lip sticks, primers, creams, exfoliaters, etc. Hope this helps!

Elena

Nothing new. Riding off my gift sub that ends in December and finally parting my ways with Birchbox.

Wow. With the exception of the Rose face lotion and shampoo and conditioner, I have received all of these items and passed boxes. Yes, the shades maybe slightly different, but there is nothing novel here. What a waste of materials and shipping. My annual subscription ends with my January box and I am just waiting for Black Friday deals to use my points and non-renewal. Birchbox has been circling the drain for almost a year now. It’s time to flush it.

How can you tell when your annual subscription ends? I know it’s around this month or next, but does it tell you on the site somewhere?

Khaleesi

I just did the online chat with a rep to find out.

I’m cancelling. I’ve been debating cancelling and I’m going to do it today. I don’t want one single thing they are offering. I’ve been with Birchbox for about 2.5 years and I have been disappointed the last few months. I’m gonna go for the Boxycharm deal!

Emma Soji

Boxy Charm will NOT disappoint! For 21 dollars a month you get awesome full sized items. I just got mine yesterday and am thrilled!! Here is a link to this months crazy great box. https://www.mysubscriptionaddiction.com/2016/12/boxycharm-december-2016-full-spoilers.html

Think I am going to skip this month. If the curated box had something besides shampoo & conditioner I would try that one but not worth it to me otherwise. I love the LOC sticks & have 3 but I’m not sure these 2 colors would work for me.

Oh BB…..Been with you from the get-go and continue to stay through thick and thin, an Ace for practically my whole sub life with you. I like the upscale products but samples have definitely gotten so much smaller. My Nov box was practically empty, samples filled maybe 1/3 of box they were so teeny. Have tried many other subs, still happier with BB product quality, but seeing lots of repeats also. BB you are making it a tough choice to stay.
Will take my chances and see what I get in Dec, sample choice and curated box do nothing for me.

Dianne

I resubed last month for a deal and waited for sample choice. Canceling again. I would stay if they brought their points back. Just can’t use anything in their box Just looks like a waste of money for me. Nothing looks fun except the mirror. But that’s only worth a dollar. I’ll see next sample choice next month. All my friends and coworkers already quite Birchbox.

Krista

The mirror and the tags are cute.

I’m sort of underwhelmed with everything. I’ve had the Real Chemistry before and liked it fine but it’s been around a lot. I like the Marcelle BB a LOT (and it’s not too light for my skin, YAY!) but I wish they had talked more about the differences between the BB and the CC. I like the LOC shadow sticks but I don’t think that color will be great for me.

The curated box having shampoo/conditioner is MEH for me as I don’t use random ones. I do appreciate that the conditioner is not a foil packet (although since they’re counting them as separate samples, of course they shouldn’t).

I like Lorelai’s nails the most out of anything on the video!

Samantha

I would say that the CC cream’s color goes on a little heavier and darker than the BB cream, it’s a little more shimmery, and I would not recommend it if you have large pores like I do.

Reply ButtonReply

Krista

Thanks SO much for that comment! I was leaning towards the Marcelle on sample choice, but now I think I might go with the curated. Even if I don’t use the shampoo and conditioner, I know I’ll like the primer and the shadow stick.

And honestly I think I have 2 sample sizes and a full size of the Marcelle BB right now anyway (not to mention a Dr Jart full size somewhere, LOL) so it’s not like I need another tube of it.

Amy S

Well, last month I would really have liked the eyebrow pencil but the color offered was too dark for me. This month it’s the same problem with the CC cream. Oh well.

Reply ButtonReply

Caroline

Might be time to cancel. This month, they messed up my initial box and my replacement box was missing an item. Plus, I’m not super excited for sample choice or the curated box.

Reply ButtonReply

TK

I really dislike that chemistry peel. First of all, BB gives it out too much and those little balls of “skin” get stuck in the peach fuzz I have on my lower cheeks. I didn’t know I had the peach fuzz until I used this stuff. The CC cream looks too dark. Not a fan of their LOC brand. I’ll go with the curated box by default. I’ve been a loyal BB member for 3 yrs. Not sure how much longer??? I love buying their high end products(Oribe, Davines) and always had great customer service but samples are not good anymore.

The Real Chemistry peel sticks to my face, too. Other peeling gels (have tried a number of Korean ones) don’t seem to have that problem. The owner/founder of Real Chemistry (I had an email exchange with her awhile back) told me this happens to some percentage of people and that I must be one of the unlucky ones…

Oh well, dropped Birchbox like six months ago. Not really missing it.

My last box was Nov. 🙁

Got in on a deal last Dec and I’ve actually enjoyed this box. I decided not to re-sub, even if a great deal comes along (lol – we’ll see if I’m strong enough to resist another 25% off subs sale! 🙂 ) but not because I hated the box, I need to use up some of my stash. They always did good matches for me. I’m sad not to be getting a Dec box.

The 3 minute peel would be my sample choice…if I had one! 🙂

Joy

I finally cancelled 🙁 Sad to let my first box go but there’s really nothing worth staying for.

I just canceled too. I only started subscribing in August, and I’ve had maybe one or two boxes that I was mostly excited about. I’ve gotten quite a few products that were embarrassingly small or did not fit my profile. When they ask “how do you feel about leaving” and “what can we do to improve?” I put “Sad,” and encouraged them to read the comments on these posts, because I think a lot of people feel like Birchbox isn’t paying attention to customer feedback. This was my first box too, and this month’s options are pretty disappointing. I’m giving Ipsy one more month to see if they do a good job cause I was disappointed last month, and I’m sticking with Sephora Play and just subscribed to Julep. At least with canceling Birchbox, I don’t feel as bad about paying for a 6-month sub to Julep on Sunday, and omg, they already shipped everything and allow you to skip months if you’re not happy with the offerings. I haven’t tried Julep’s products yet, but already, I feel like they are more considerate of customers’ needs and wants.

I want the Real Chemistry peel! That stuff is amazing! Thanks for the sneak peak! ?

I canceled two weeks ago. I’ve been a subscriber for two years. BB was the box that helped foster my addiction to subscription boxes, but they’ve been such a let down. I kept receiving duplicates and things I had no interest in despite updating my profile. It’s a shame because I really do love the company.

Brittany

Omg… lol!!!!!! That real chemistry peel appeared in my FIRST birchbox. Don’t be fooled by the box size, one of the smallest samples I ever received. I can’t believe I stuck with them for over six months. I always felt ripped off haha. Even though Allure is hit or miss I felt a bigger sense of customer appreciation (they didn’t have to send us complimentary gifts for Aprils oversold box). Nice knowing the same generic brands are being recycled …. I know allure uses a lot of repeat brands like Purlisse but dang do their products work so good! 🙂

Wendy

I also cancelled after having a missing item as well as an empty item in my November box. Not sorry at all.

Reply ButtonReply

Mel

I think I’m going to have to go with the curated box this month. I don’t like any of the three samples and I don’t want to risk getting any of them. The curated box seems decent though
