This month's theme is "Calm, Peaceful, and Centered." It's a good time to downshift before the hectic holidays hit!
The information sheet from Herb Stop is really impressive. There's a lot of knowledge packed in here! Every oil they sent is matched with three different usage tips. That's really helpful! Plus on the reverse side, there is a recipe for a stress-away bath blend!
I also wanted to point out that their information sheet contains important safety information under each oil. A reader recently commented on the dangers of essential oils and cats, so I thought I would mention this. It's definitely great info to have on hand.
Ho Wood - I have never heard of this plant, ever, but I love when the Herb Stop puts oils that are totally new to me in their box! It has a woodsy smell (as you'd expect), but it also smells sort of spicy and very unusual. It's mood enhancing, soothing, and even has aphrodisiac qualities!
Lavender - Lavender has been a standby in my house for as long as I can remember. It's so helpful in curing insomnia in such a healthy and satisfying way! I had no idea that it's also good for acne and scars, though. Wow!
Vetivert - Vetivert is extracted from the root and has a very powerful smell, one that I don't really like on its own. It is very calming and apparently can be mixed with lavender to take the edge off, so perhaps we will try it that way.
Peace Potion - Vetivert is also included in this month's roller blend, but it's actually quite nice mixed with bergamot, orange, lavender, vanilla, and other oils. I really hope this helps with anxiety and stress. We seem to have a lot of that around the holiday season!
Verdict: I am consistently impressed with the Herb Stop Essential Oils subscription. As I mentioned, the timing of their well-curated themes is absolutely wonderful and spot-on. I also really appreciate that they include safety information. Essential oils are pretty expensive, but the number of oils in these vials is small. A little will go a long way, though, so I personally prefer having small amounts rather than bigger bottles I never use completely. The biggest part of the value to me, however, is all of the know-how that is packed into the info sheet! It speaks to not only what to use the oils for, but many different ways to apply them. I think if you are interested in learning A LOT about how to use essential oils to improve your health and your life, then this box is definitely for you!
