Each box comes with an info card detailing the candles featured that month, as well as the bonus gift. I like how they match the background of the info card to the print of the fabric.
Wooly Wax Burmese Teakwood – 4 oz?, value: $12?
This candle is called “Burmese Teakwood,” and here’s how it’s described on Wooly Wax’s website: “With deep notes of teakwood and tobacco, Burmese Teakwood might sound masculine but in fact has the perfect balance of subtle aromatics.” It’s inspired by the artisan’s memories of her father’s office. Unfortunately, this candle was a miss for my taste. I prefer candles that have fruit, florals, or gourmand (food) fragrances. The teakwood and tobacco notes just aren’t for me.
Wooly Wax San Francisco Fog – 8 oz, value: $23
This candle has notes of eucalyptus, wood, and salt water mist, inspired by the San Francisco Bay.. I really like the way it smells (I love eucalyptus) and I have been burning this candle for the last few afternoons. It burns well and I can definitely smell it from across my main floor.
Sahale Snacks Pomegranate Vanilla Flavored Cashews - 0.75 oz, value: $1.10
I’m not generally a fan of cashews (or nuts in general) but I was surprised at how much I liked this snack! I loved the pomegranate in it, and with the vanilla, it complimented the cashews flavor and texture. I definitely added this to my list of snacks to buy more of some time. I’d totally keep a bag of this in my tote to snack on when I’m out or traveling.
The Verdict: Well, I loved one of the candles this month and found a new snack. One thing I like about candle subscriptions is that if I find one I don’t like, it’ll be good for gifting.
The value adds up to about $36, which I’m happy with. I do think curation/discovery plays into the value for this sub, so keep that in mind. Also, the fact that you’d have to pay shipping to get the candles straight from the manufacturers helps even out the value in some way, too, I think. All in all, I’m happy!
