These are the instructions that were included. Tinker Crate's instructions usually look a little daunting at first, but they are always very complete and easy to follow.
These are the supplies that were included in this project. We did not have to supply anything from home.
My ten-year-old son was the head engineer for this project. Our first step was to put together the spine of the lantern. I apologize for the ratty tablecloth! We were in yet another different work space, but I wanted to make sure I got some good pictures of our project as it was in process.
Our next step was to install the battery and LED in the lid of the jack-o-lantern.
Next, we had to craft the skins for the outside of the lantern.
Then we put all the pieces together, and voila! Our jack-o-lantern was complete!
Here's what the lantern looks like when lit. I think it turned out great! It took us about thirty minutes to complete the project.
Verdict: This was another fantastic project from Tinker Crate! I can't imagine where they get such brilliant ideas for projects, and they are always so well executed. My son and I had fun putting this together, and it's always time well spent. I also think that $18 for a fun project to do together that results in a cool keepsake like this is a huge bargain! We love Tinker Crate!
What do you think of Tinker Crate? Do you plan to pick up any of their seasonal projects to do with your kids?
