BoxyCharm Subscription Box Review – October 2016

*WARNING: this may make some of you BC veterans rage*

ANYWAYS…I just received my first ever BoxyCharm box- October (I subscribed around the 22nd so that’s why I’m getting it so late) and….I’M IN LOVE!! My box included:

– Luxie Beauty Eye Blender Brush Pack $36
– IBY Beauty Threes Company Trio Eye Shadow $19
– Girlactik Precise Eyeliner Marker $20
– Cargo Bronzing Powder $29
AND
– Ofra Beverly Hills Highlighter $39.95

That’s a RV of $143.95!!!

I am SUPER excited for the brushes because I am just starting out using make up other than eyeliner and mascara so here’s to my first (3) brushes! I’m really excited and fortunate to have gotten the Ofra…it really is a beauty. I am actually a teeny bit disappointed I didn’t get the Briogeo Protectant Creme because I would have actually gotten use out of it versus the eyeliner marker. I’m also hesitant about keeping the bronzing powder because I have never used bronzer and I know that the medium will be too dark for my pale complexion. But overall I am extremely pleased with this heavenly box and can’t wait for November’s!

I did not get the temtu. I am super disappointed that I did not get the briogeo. What I did get was the cargo bronzer, the brushes and eyeshadow, the ofra highlighter and something I haven’t seen anybody say- the gorge amazing konac sponge.

I received the Temptu, Ofra Beverly Hills Highlighter, Iby palette, luxie brushes, and the Briogeo. This is my favorite box so far. I’ve been with BoxyCharm for about a year. The Ofra is stunning. I can see why some ladies are upset. I’m now eyeing the Rodeo Drive Highlighter from Ofra. The IBY shadows are so creamy and pigmented. Luxies brushes are always a nice surprise and they work great with blending the IBY shadows. The Briogeo I also really nice. I definitely have less frizz when appying to my wet hair before blow drying. The smell Is nice too. I was pleasantly surprised by the Temptu. After reading such awful comments on it I was hesitant. I think more of the comments were people and they didn’t get the Ofra. I’m extremely pale. Like snow white and the Temptu blends out really nice. I want to try it with some body lotion for my legs. YouTube shows so many ways you can use it. Instead of tossing it look at ways it can work for you. I give this box 5 stars!! ❤❤

I didn’t get the starlooks ( very happy as I do not care for that brand ), however I did get both Temptu as well as the Cargo beach blush (very excited about the blush). My value was $138.50 AWESOME !!!!!

So disappointed, I too got the Temptu, I am a long time subscriber. No Ofra or Cargo products. The box is a good value, but I hate having box envy, this makes me think Boxy is under appreciating me and if that is the case, I will take my business elsewhere.

Mine was 0.88 oz, I received the Cargo and Tempura. Everything else is same as Liz’s box – except for no lip product. But happy to have the Cargo! It’s really nice!

New subscriber for boxycharm. When can I sign up for November box and is there a promo code for first time subscribers?

Mine says .7 so I have no idea what that is going to mean in relation to everyone elses .88 & .6 My daughters box says .88 I guess we will see on Tuesday.

I’m kinda disappointed by the brushes, don’t get me wrong I love getting brushes & they’re individually great. But all 3 of them are blending brushes that are only a tiny bit different in size. Feel like it would have been better to have maybe a packing, blending, & precision brush trio instead so there’s more variety in trying the brand.

I have not seen anyone with anything other than Temptu, including me. Why bother to tease & not follow through?

I originally subbed to Boxycharm because I thought everyone got the same stuff & wouldn’t have to miss out on what others got instead. I’m so disappointed with this box, I’m pale & air dry my hair so I can only use the eyeshadow & brushes. Seems kinda messed up for Boxycharm to tease Ofra, then give Temptu. On their Facebook post were they asked people what product they wanted, every comment I saw said people wanted either Ofra or Cargo blush. Seems pointless to ask what people want, then completely ignore. If Boxycharm isn’t gonna have identical boxes, I wish they had some sort of profile like Birchbox so people could at least get bronzer that matches their skin tone.??

I got my box today and the Luxie brushes were missing. The brush box was there but no brushes. Did this happen to anyone else?

I received my box. I love the Temptu bronzer. Its got shimmer “fun”! The brushes are nice! Lip paint stays on “wine color”! Iby beauty shadow creamy! Blow dry product it’s ok. My favorite is the bronzer! I’ve never tried their products. I have foundation that’s a little light I’m adding the bronzer to. Gives me a glow! I like it better than my benefit liquid bronzer. I love nyx liquid bronzer also. But the Temptu has more of a natural look and it’s buildable for lighter and darker skin tones.

Mine arrived today and the weight on my tracking number said .3 lbs. the box says oct 2016 boxycharm kit. I got the shadow palette, Lucie brushes, temptu, briogeo and the cargo beachblush

My box just arrived. Although my shipping weight showed 0.6 lbs from FedEx, my box is the exact same as Liz’s ? I guess I’ll be mixing Temptu with lotion for my legs all winter long!

Mine came today. It was .9 lbs. I got the temptu ?. I should have known better. I always hope for the best and always get the worst. I haven’t seen anyone get anything else yet, though. I got a completely different lippie. Japonesque lip lacquer in teinte. Not sure what I think of this. It’s not red (but I look good in red). It’s pretty on my hand, but I think it is too coral-ish for my skin. I also much prefer matte lipsticks and this is very Shiney. Not terribly long lasting on my hand either. I’m somewhat disappointed, but the palette and hair stuff make up for it. I HATE the temptu. I am to the point that I will cancel ANYTHING sub that sends me a bronzer unless the rest of the box is amazing. So incredibly sick of getting bronzers.

Just saw that my box is 0.88.
Guess I am getting the same box, too.
Only have 1 or 2 months left on my sub. I really don’t like that they are starting the box variations, concerned that they will start to be like Glossy. I do like the Lippie, and the brushset, interested in trying the hair product (since I have just changed my hair color). Don’t need anymore bronzers or nude eyeshadow pallets, please. I might can use the Temptu bronzer with a light moisturizer on my face. (Gma was reg Cherokee, so I have a bit of a darker base tone..)

I also received my box today and it was 0.88 and I received the same box as Liz! Good luck to the heavier boxes as I hope you get the OFRA highlighter!

For those of you trying to figure out the box by weight my box weighed .8 and I received the same exact items as Liz.

Really wish I had skipped this box this month ?

I’m a little surprised that my box hasn’t even shipped yet when I’ve usually received it by now. Can’t wait, I’m impatient after seeing this.

My box just shipped and it says 1.4 lbs. Very nervous now but as long as they don’t take the brushes or the eyeshadow palette out of my box in place of one of the “non-temptu” items I’ll be good. The weight variations seem kind of strange but it would be nice to get the ofra item or BOTH of the cargo items, I like using powder bronzers, highlighters and blushes as eyeshadow.

My box is weighing in at .9lbs now I’m convinced I’m getting the teptu
