Inside the lid of the box, lists the coffees provided this month, a short bio about each coffee and the location and website of the coffee brand. It’s very helpful, but I wish it was written on a postcard than printed on an adhesive paper. This would be helpful for those that want to keep the card in the kitchen or elsewhere nearby for reference.
Twisted Pine – Autumn Sunrise – Value: $2.91
Autumn Sunrise is described as full-body and complex. It says you’ll taste hints of caramel and orange, but I didn’t smell or taste any flavor of orange or citrus. I found it refreshing and it was also my favorite this month.
Door County Coffee & Tea Co. – Breakfast Blend – Value: $3.75
This coffee is described as a light blend, but I found it very bitter compared other light blends I’ve tried before. I was really surprised. While brewing, it has the very classic coffee aromas that I love. Smells great, but didn’t taste the way I thought it would.
Bright and Early – Texas Cinnamon – Value: $1.98
I enjoyed this cinnamon blended brew. It is a little gritty, just to let you know. I couldn’t drink it to the very bottom where it all collected. Otherwise, it’s very nice. This would also be great as a cold coffee with some whipped cream! Yum! I’ll definitely try that next time.
Verdict: Single Cup Club had an estimated retail value of nearly $9.00. The value is significantly lower than the actual cost to the subscriber, though shipping costs for the subscription were not included in the overall value. I love that they added a personal touch to the subscription box by adding the “packed by” label (thanks, Kathleen), but I still believe other changes should be made to bring the value up.
