Medusa's Make-Up Shadow Brush - Value $6

(This item isn't sold individually, but a set of 4 is $24, so that's how I got the value.)

This makeup brush is made from synthetic vegan bristles. It is very soft, and was easy to clean, too, thanks to the included brush cleaner:

Medusa's Make-Up Brush Cleaner - Value $8

What a practical item! I'm surprised brush cleaner isn't included in subscription boxes more often! This is a concentrated gel, so you only need a few drops plus 2 ounces of water to make the solution to clean your brushes.

It worked well, and the scent is fresh, too.

Medusa's Make-Up Eye Dust in Lemonade - Value $7

Warning! These eyeshadows are filled to the brim and do not have any type sifter on top - the powder is loose:

But, I can't complain too much about this container overflowing with product, right? Packaging issues aside, this eye shadow powder is amazing. It has a velvety texture, and it is also incredibly pigmented. (This little 1.5 grams of eyeshadow should last years.) Make sure to use a primer to keep the color this bold all day, though.

Lighter shades usually don't show up well on my wrist no matter how many swipes I use to swatch it, but look at this:

That is a bold yellow! The lower shade swatched is this body shimmer:

Medusa's Make-Up Body Shimmer in Healthy - Value $12

This is described as a body shimmer, but I would think of it as an all over highlighter.

It blends well, and can give a pretty subtle look if you blend it out well.

Verdict: This box has a value of $33. I think that's fantastic for a $15.95 beauty box that sends full-size vegan beauty products with free shipping. On the page for the beauty box, they advertise a $40 value, so this falls short of that expectation, but I'm still happy with the value.

It's a great way to try out Medusa's Make-Up on the cheap, and even if they colors aren't a great fit for me, it's a great way to try out their formulas. (I'm not sure I can pull off that Lemonade color!)

Geeez people expect to much value for a box you only pay a little for! If you want more value then you sound sub to a more costly box that will offer exceptional value! As i am to many. I just dropped laritzy because their products are not worthy of the cost.

What are “synthetic vegan bristles”? How can a vegan product be synthetic?

Kathleen

These are man made bristles, not goat hair like the brush LLB sent last month.

Ragan

Yeah, pretty much any vegan bristles HAVE to be synthetic. There aren’t really any appropriate plant-based fibers that would make good brushes or we would’ve seen them before now.

LillyMolly

For brushes, the only other option would be to use animal hair, which would not be vegan. Therefore all vegan brushes are synthetic.

You can buy sifters from the Medusa Makeup website and they are pretty inexpensive.

Thanks for reviewing this! I think I will keep an eye and see if I want to sub – the price is reasonable and the package is really cute. I’d like to see a bump in the value for next month.
