Each Lip Monthly box comes with a card detailing each product inside the bag.
Each package comes with a makeup bag. If you are familiar with Ipsy bags, I'd say the quality isn't as good as Ipsy bags, but it is still pretty good for a bonus bag. (I'd like to see them do more playful prints like Ipsy does in future months!)
Now onto the items! We'll start with the one non-lip item since it matches the bag!
NCLA Petite Instant Nail Fashion Wraps - Value $9
I'm pretty impressed that Lip Monthly did a collab with NCLA and matched the nail wraps to the bag!
I've now tried both the nail sticker wrap and the nail wrap that is made from actual polish (like Incoco) and I prefer the non-sticker kind, so I wasn't the biggest fan of these.
In general, the actual nail strips are easier for me to apply because I can stretch them easier, remove air bubbles, and file off the remainder with ease.
That being said, I still think these look pretty cute on:
Now time for the lippies!
JCat Wonder Lip Paint in Caterpillar Smoke - Value $5
Based on the packaging, I immediately thought this company was trying to copy the look of the cult classic Lip Tar. (But looking that up, I just realized Lip Tar has changed their packaging!)
The formula wasn't the same to Lip Tar, though. While the pigment was good, I found the formula to be too runny. (You can see in my swatch picture below that it's already running after only putting it on my wrist for a few seconds!)
STARLOOKS Lip Crayon in Mauvetopia - Value $12
This lip crayon wasn't very moisturizing, but the color payoff was great. The color was pretty wearable for me, too! (Swatched in lower photo.)
ModelCo Illusion Lip Liner Lip Enhancer - Value $20
This turned out being my favorite item in the box. It's a great neutral lip color for me - something I'll use every day. The pigment is great, too.
Swatched below beneath the Lip Paint and Lip Crayon:
Verdict: Even though this month's Lip Monthly bag was only 50% a hit for me, I still got two full-size lip products I like out of a $12.95 subscription box! This box has a value of about $46, too - not bad!
