Little Hedgehog’s Big Day by Heidi Howarth - $15.95
Little Hedgehog is starting big school and is very nervous that he’s not ready. He asks some of his animal friends how he can get bigger. They have lots of suggestions, but nothing seems to work. Then mom reminded him of all the things he’s already learned to do and how prepared he really is. The hedgehog illustrations are very cute and my son enjoyed this book as he himself just started at “big” school.
The Lion Who Lost His Roar, But Learned to Draw by Paula Knight - $12.89 on Amazon (retail price $15.95)
Lion loves to roar loudly, but after one long day of roaring he wakes up with no roar at all. Mama tells him to rest his sore throat and get a drink. On the way back from the watering hole Lion’s tail drags a pattern in the dirt which the other animals admire. Lion learns that there is something new he loves to do, draw. We weren’t big fans of this book, it felt disjointed, but the colorful illustrations were nice.
Verdict: Lil' Bear Book Club does a nice job sending quality hardcover books each month. We love that they come wrapped which makes unboxing this subscription extra fun for my kids. The retail value this month is over $28 which I’m very happy with. Adding new books to our collection each month builds our home library and delights both of my kids!
What do you think of this month’s Lil' Bear Book Club? Do your kids prefer sweet books or funny books?
